A few years ago I told you I was bringing My wife with me for a few weeks of travel in Thailand. At that time I explained to you that I married well above my station and she was much more posh than I so I wanted to bring her to some appropriate places while in BKK. You told me about Nang Loeng Market area. That worked out beautifully and was excellent. Always meant to thank you for that advice Mate. So Thank You!
You two are the cutest couple on UA-cam, Miss P better watch out😂. I’ll be in Bangkok in July and will try all these places. Thanks for all your videos!
Gary, I can’t believe I knew all of these places. The first restaurant (we call it Great Shanghai because of the old faded sign outside) is a regular spot for us because it’s just downstairs from our apartment at Emporium. We have had many late night meals there. And the sticky rice place is awesome too. Mike & Angela live just across the street from it! 😄
With a tear in my eyes I'm watching this video from my airplane seat on my way back home to Rotterdam after staying for one month at the Phrom Phong area. My go to restaurant was "Imjai Thai Food" at the other side of the BTS station. For first timers this restaurant looks and taste very "approachable" with very welcoming friendly staff and is very clean. Yes I saw Paddy walking I think wearing a blue shirt and sporting a white man purse or it was someone looking like you. Also saw Forrest Lee heading to his gym there.
Thank you for this video!! It's a blessing in disguise because I will be living down the road from all the locations which you have recommended!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I always look forward to your videos, and this one was wonderful. I've been taking notes for our bucket list trip to southeast Asia. I stumbled onto your videos about a year and a half ago while researching for Vietnam, then watched every single episode. Now we want to definitely include Thailand, Cambodia and Laos, maybe even the Philippines. Your information is awesome! Thank you.
Milli on stage in California eating Mango and sticky rice, just like a love song to her country and culture. That rapper is special. I am vegan and still like your food videos, Gary and Micky is favorites coming to food. Will get my Mango from there next time. Thanks
Hiya Paddy and Gary. Love it when you two get together. Always Good vibes. Gary's Thai is amazing. Love it. The first place is buzzing. Definitely speaks volumes. Gary has a way of speaking about food, he always makes me hungry. Love your videos, Paddy. Great video. Love all the food places. And food. Thank you for sharing. You are both looking so well. Love you guys.
I’ve walked past that #1 restaurant several times but never paid much attention to it as from the outside it looks pretty modest place. Wouldn’t have guessed it’s such a well regarded eatery, I guess need to put it on my bucket list for the next time.
I stayed at The Ibis Hotel, literally around the corner from there at Christmas time. I walked by that spot daily, but the crowd kept me out. Now I wish I had braved it! I did that walk around Benjisiri Park several times, never saw you, but I believe you and Miss P were out on some adventures..... I shall return! One thing that limited my street food adventures is a severe food allergy. Any shellfish will do me in, and it seems that every sauce has oyster sauce or shrimp paste in it.... My food allergy card saved my life several times, and the Thai food servers were very helpful and understanding.
Oh, I`m so envying you guys, and so hungry too in the middle of the night while waching your video. Have fun and if it`s ever possible I would like to have dinner with both of you guys. Exactly my style of tasting Thai food. Great video again Paddy!
What a fun video! That is my neighbourhood as well Patty. I have walked past the first place hundreds of times and never been brave enough to go in…now that I know the drill I might…don’t speak any Thai however. And thanks for the back story on the Mango place. Wondered why it was so popular.
Thanks, mate. Great food, inexpensive, even in the heart of Sukumwit. I'm a street food lover, and I'm glad it's still available, even in that area of high rise, five star hotels and the like.
Super cool to see you Paddy and your "brother from another mother" Gary together ! top notch places, in Bangkok, food is all delish, great choices 👍😋you fit good together for any vlog ! double fun ✌Thanks !🙏
Your clip is worth watching and following. When eating, it looks delicious and delicious. And you are handsome too. Please tell Mr. Gary that when you are in Thailand, you look very good and have become much more handsome. Will always follow your clips.
EXCELLENT video. I've eaten at that restaurant at Phrom Phong stairs a couple of times and I've picked up 50 Baht Mango Sticky Rice about 10 times when I stayed at the Hilton just down the street. Great place to eat.... Surprised I didn't run into you.... I still owe you dinner from Fisherman's Village back in November of 2022.
Hey Paddy! Love your videos! They are helping me plan my trip with my 10yo daughter for 5 weeks later this year. My daughter has been a super picky eater (ate everything and anything until age 4) for the last few years, but I've been introducing her slowly to more things, and she recently chose a Thai noodle soup for a meal. (WIN). She likes Khao Man Gai, Satay and a non-authentic Thai Chicken Lettuce Wrap I make. What would you recommend for her to start out slow when we are in Thailand? I don't want to be ordering food to go for me and picking up something more western for her!
The first restaurant is right next to our building. So happy to see you feature it! We call it Great Shanghai. I don’t think that’s the actual name, but if you look outside there are very faded letters above the entrance that read Great Shanghai. 😆 I’ve never had a bad meal there, and I have had many 1:30 AM dinners there. I actually think they stay open until 2:30 AM. Ask me how I know…😬
Great collab Paddy,,,, havnt seen Gary in a long time,,, he has lost alot of weight... remarkable for a cooking content YTer ... I love going to Great Shanghai and Rung Rueng noodle,,, will have to go check out Mae Varee soon....
Paddy, u r my favourite travel blogger without a doubt but man, its time for another big next level adventure. May b Newzealand… it could be australia or Africa even.
wonderful video and I love the phrom phong area and especially the benchasiri park! its amazing! was there every day when I lived there for several months. you should check out the vegetarian/vegan restaurant right behind the benchasiri park (at the back entrance), this restaurant is amazing and so delicious but a little bit more expensive.
Hi there Paddy I just wanted to say I love your videos especially where you travelled around Vietnam, thought it looked amazing, Ive just came back from a 2 week holiday there, we had a few flights to catch but I travelled from Hanoi down to Da Nang then Ho Chi Minh city, also checked out Nin bing and Ha long bay, ive done some videos of it on youtube, still have more to upload though, hope your well, keep up the amazing videos 😊
Great video and great teamwork! I live in this area but have never been to these restaurants because I'm vegetarian. When you and Garry visit local places in the future, maybe you could add a word or two about whether there is a vegetarian stall available.
Thank you for the video. I was familiar with Gary's picks after my last visit to Bangkok, but didn't go into the Phrom Phong BTS Eatery. I passed by it several times, but it looked intimidating and a bit chaotic. I had no idea the people out front were part of the restaurant.
You really should try the pad thai place a couple of meters further then the mango shop its called Hoi Tod Chaw Lay - Thong lor. Its not that cheap about 120 bath but by far the best i have had they make it there for over 60 years now its a must try!
Oh Paddy and Gary, Rung rueang pork noodle, right and left shop is there a difference? As I heard left gotten Michelin but right seems crowded? Gary can you shed some light or your opinion about it?
Hello. I’m new to your videos but I really enjoyed them very much. My daughter and her fiancé are coming to Thailand with me for their honeymoon in November. I looked at your website and found some digital books for sale. Please advise which one I should buy if they are going to be in Thailand for 3-4 weeks. They like adventure and my daughter has been to Phuket and some islands. I would like to book somewhere on an island for their honeymoon suite. Any suggestions ? They also want to go to Samui and Chiangmai and Pai please advise on which of your digital books you recommend. Thank you
@@PaddyDoyle. thank you. I will get those for them to make travel plans.i enjoyed watching your UA-cam because its very informational and entertaining at the same time. Keep them coming.
Man I miss Thailand so much. I miss wandering and discovering. I'm lucky to still be remote in my work, and I'm thinking of going for January and February, but it would be a full solo trip as my husband works at an office. He is telling me to go, but I'm not sure. Anyone have some advice?
I love noodle soup but...the rice noodles fill me up and I feel bad leaving a big bowl half filled w/noodle. Solution: I substitute bean sprout for noodle and it's perfect, saves me some calories and I absolutely love bean sprouts. Aroy mak.
What’s the best food you’ve eaten in Bangkok?
Never been to Bangkok haha
Spent a year in Chiang Mai. It's on the list!
Pad krapow moo Kai dao mai sook.
Mango rice
Mango sticky rice.....

Loving these types of video's
This is like a hawker center in Singapore. I’m glad that Bangkok also has this kind of place nestled among luxury malls and offices in its CBD.
Wonderful video with Paddy and Gary. Enjoyed the video! Paddy, may i know what is the name of the restaurant next to Phrom Pong BTS?
Great video and great teamwork! I live in this area but have never been to these restaurants because I'm vegetarian. When you and Garry visit local places in the future, maybe you could add a word or two about whether there is a vegetarian stall available.

More of this content please!
I wish you happiness in Bangkok every day.🇹🇭
Paddy you look exactly like a young Matthew Broderick.
Flight arrived at 8am. Got to Phrom Phong bts eatery before 11am. Literally used to live around the corner as a teen
Absolutely love Rung Rueang but prefer the dry noodle version myself. It's so popular they now have 3 branches right next to each other
Paddy love , when taking your ice please use the scoop
ฉันมีความสุขทุกครั้งที่เห็นพวกคุณกิน ดีใจที่คุณชอบอาหารไทย คุณสองคนแทบจะเป็นคนไทยอยู่แล้ว😂

The guava joke caught me off guard nice one Gary 🤣

But Paddy, where do you get your shirts from? Love your style! Great content as usual, I can't wait to be there in August!

@@PaddyDoyle. also, where do you recommend staying in Chiangmai to be close to the night bazaar ?
The bromance continues 😆
I've eaten at Roong-rerng noodles shop since I was a kid for half century ago my father took me and my brothers there 😋.
Gary the roaming cooking know everything about Thai food..
Ok. Now you need to do a Roti street carts review
C'est trop bon😋😋😁😁😁😁
Alright paddy Gary got u very saty today 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I will be for one month in the RAMKHAMHAENG AREA. Good food and good prices in that area?
Does the eatery place only accept cash? Can i use creditcard paywave cashless to pay?
Paddy,is it really a good idea to reveal a beautiful place where there are no tourists yet? 🤔
I love noodle soup but...the rice noodles fill me up and I feel bad leaving a big bowl half filled w/noodle. Solution: I substitute bean sprout for noodle and it's perfect, saves me some calories and I absolutely love bean sprouts. Aroy mak.
If you walk all the way down Sukhumvit Soi 4 theres a crispy duck shop about 100m from the end on the RHS. Local knowledge.
I’m vegetarian and headed to Bangkok in a few weeks! Are there vegetarian options in these types of restaurants?
Paddy will you return to the UK. Or will Thailand be your home forever?
Say Hi ...from thailand 😊
Nice one Paddy, more food videos, less Gary, I kid I kid
Can you film cheap eats near Nana station please
My secret noodle place on sukhumvit soi 11 closed! So sad!!
I like foods in and near by Chinatown area better. Yeah sukumvit area foods are expensive. But you can find some authentic restaurants like this.
Hey Paddy ? Another Thailand food video ? It’s time for you to go. - even Chris left - Bye Bye ✌️
That friggin shirt 😵💫
How about the MSG?
MSG. Thai food!
Also, you've got to tell ppl the exchange rate.
Cheap now is not what cheap used to be.
