Are there sandflies? This hut at the beach made me remember to an island called Koh Mak. I immediately would leave any island where i can see a swarm of sandflies. Ask staff before you think to go to the beach. I‘d pay triple boat price to leave in the next 10 Minutes

As a Thai, whenever someone asks me when the best period to visit Thailand is, i always answer rainy season. Everything is green. The mountains are beautiful. The air is fresh. The sky…..yes it’s cloudy and rainy, but there’s some part of the day that it’s sunny and rain stop. The beach ans sea is not much clouded with people. The weather is not too hot and not cold. Relax feeling. It’s the best period of the year. Thank you for the video.

I was in Samui last November and luckily most of the trip was when it wasn’t raining. I enjoyed it so much!

A lot of Thai Buddhist sites are plastic visitor spots. This something even my Thai wife and brothers-in-law lament. Any beautiful spot is more beautiful if you stick another Buddha in it, and it makes money. In our small northern town, the once beautiful Burmese style wooden temple has been obscured over the years by an army of large identical Buddha sculptures that are 4 times the size of a person. Where did the temple go?

I just spent April and May in Pattaya and a couple of the islands... It was way too hot for me, and I live in the Tropics of Australia, When it did rain , it was much more enjoyable, but it was still hot. I have been following you for the last 3 years, i had intentions on moving to Thailand, but after the last couple of months there I have changed my mind. I still will come, i love the people and the food, and Paddy your videos seem to be a bit of a sell out...... it''s all a big sell now, a bit of a turn off fir me, but you have to make money and I get that... But still keep doing what you do because you are good at what you do,,,

We went in July last year and the weather was mostly very nice, sunny and hot, yes it rained but out of 14 days we had 1 or 2 heavy downpours which cleared to blue sky, going again this year at the same time!

Living in Samui -rainy season great. Less people. Cooler. Love it.

Full of malays. Nothing like Spain.

It’s important to mention that Thailand has multiple monsoon cycles that affect different regions of the country at different times of the year. November is the height of the rainy season in the Gulf, but the Andaman side has great weather during that time.

The annual monsoon is caused by the significant temperature difference between the land and the water, in this case the Indian Ocean. The land heats up much faster and this creates a low pressure area over the land. This draws in the moist air from the Indian Ocean over the land. These wet air masses encounter the hot air and rise. Rising allows for cooling and condensation of the air which results in heavy rainfall. Anyway a bit of a long explanation, thought you might be interested.

Sorry Paddy but you're not right about some of these things,, cold drinks are everywhere, Circle K is the main store, I agree with the food, it's not my favorite either but my Vietnamese family knows what I like. :D Find Chin Su for hot sauce
