I bought a vintage Go Kart that I'm redoing. When my buddy and I picked it up we saw a dolly sitting there and both of us looked at each other and said "that's a Go Kart frame!" Glad you made it happen.
Moving dolly make good starters for vintage karts .. that's what I use for holding two batteries and two starter motors for my dual engine vintage karts.
That's literally what I thought when I was looking at my Dolly the other day that's why I'm here 😂
As far as the lengthening the chassis, was thinking you could have possibly added/welded some tubing to lengthen the frame in which you would have to have cut the frame pretty much in half to add. Great Build👍
MAD skills!!! As a kid of the 70's without endless money to just buy everything we wanted, we learned to hack/chop/glue/weld/bend stuff together for my buds and me to have fun. I applaud your efforts and engineering talents. This was no small task. THIS is what every kid (or adult) today should endeavor to do....to innovate, adapt, problem-solve and LEARN new skills. Totally enjoyed the video!
I agree
Did you weld without proper equipment cause I’m tryna learn but I have no equipment
Hi, im 13, turning 14 soon, and I have paid for a cheap mig welder, and I want to make homemade planes and make dirt bikes. I love the idea of making and innovating, but i can't until I'm 14 and I get a job but I've always wanted to make things.
@@Guncrafterandlockpicker You GO, little man! There are NO limits. The wrenching and tinkering skills I learned early on have benefitted my life in ways I cannot properly explain. I pay NOBODY to fix anything I own. I've saved thousands over my lifetime. You can do ANYTHING. Go for it.
@@briand4000 Thank you i would never let a mechanic fix my stuff because i would get experience and if anything happens I will be able to fix my car on my own, change my oil and so on and so forth when I'm older I want to try to do stuff like this my shop teacher has Taught me everything I know about wood working and welding.
I was laying down in bed the other night thinking about building a go kart for my son. Is the universe speaking to me? Great tutorial and epic edits.
Build it! You will always have those memories.
@@themanhimself3 wish me luck and I will start looking for parts :)
@@GardeningwithDave I know you already know this but don't forget a helmet. Good luck and have fun. If you get something cool built don't be afraid to post it on youtube.
@@themanhimself3 I was thinking a nice helmet and roll cage :)
@@GardeningwithDave That's even better.
When you were emptying the gas tank it reminded me a lot like getting a guitar pick that has been dropped into an acoustic guitar. 😂😂
I was so mad saying “swirl it dont shake it ughhhhh”
I know the pain lol
I find this relatable😂
When I was a little kid, I always laid town these and pretended they were a car. This is my childhood games coming to life before my eyes.
Thank you!
Same!!
Your knowledge of those engines blows my mind I love seeing someone do their work with patience and knowledge.
Fair enough... I have similar skills, never realized it might be impressive to someone, but then I realized not everyone knows much about small engines and building stuff in a garage cuz they live a different kind of life than that... (I know I probably shouldn't, but now I feel cool too lol.) Anyways, thanks for making me realize that.
@@binaryglitch64 I'm only getting into tinkering just built my 3d printer. Having the skills to identify parts and their uses and repair/build motors to me is fascinating.
I guess a lot of us thought about this when we were young, it does have a basic go kart shape. It was fun to see you make it a reality and repurposing an engine from a clapped out pressure washer made it even better.
Thinking about and doing are 2 complete different things lol
A DIY tutorial for a dolly go kart would be great! I always thought that a dolly could make a good frame and you demonstrated that perfectly here. This would be a great project to mess around with on a low budget!
I'm going to do it. Just waiting for them to go on sale again 😁
I had this idea as a kid, glad to see it come to life. ❤
That is awesome
Same
No matter how old you are how many kids you got how much money you got or what religion you claim when a man builds a go kart and it goes as planned you will see pure excitement always love it!!! Salute 🫡
You don’t have to cut it up at all. I did this like 2 years ago, never finished but got close. Just lay it down long ways replace the axle with a drive axle and then use the handle as a pivot point for the front steering. Then add your seat and engine either up against or bend the carrier plate down. After that juts test it out and fix any sketchiness
Agreed, but it wouldn't look as cool
How are you telling him how he should work on his own cart when you didn’t finish yours 😂
But I'm glad you commented anyways because anytime I'm excited about a project I see, I want to brainstorm ideas of either more complicated or more simpler ways of doing whatever is going on in people's videos. It's fun to see everyone's involvement... 🤭😏😎✌️
great video. very impressed with getting them engines to all work again and solving the design issues. look forward to more
I simply love this build , it's the sheer frugality and repurposed dolly that gets me going . You have lit a fire under my proverbial (blank).
Ass.
You're welcome.
Love the work you put into these videos man! A true inspiration
This is something I’ve thought about multiple times, so glad to see it done!
Just stumbled on this video and subbed about halfway through. I like your explanations along the way. I'm also glad to see there's a backlog of videos for me to watch tomorrow.
This was awesome dude! Big props to the ingenuity
bro your joy as your drivig your creation is wholesome
I love that this was almost a combo video. Salvaging the pressure washers and their teardown/touchups was a pleasure to watch forgot i was watching a gokart video!
This video was amazing and very joyfull to watch, you're very skilled dawg to make something like that from lil to nothing. loved the editing very great production for a 2.5k channel
I've thought about this for a long time! This is so cool man!
My mate and I have been talking about doing this for the last 5 years, it's brilliant to see someone finally do it
I love this kind of engineering. "Here's a thing. That looks like it would be good to be this other thing" Then makes it into the other thing. Love it
It's my favorite
Wow!! That is talent and sick. Hella job 🔥
Would be awesome to see another one of these builds, but more DIY for someone like me that wants to build a go kart but i don’t have any complicated tools such as a welder. Awesome vid!
I had no idea I needed one of these!! Definitely on my to do list. Great job.
I’ve had this idea for a long time I think it would be such easy frame glad to see someone else did it too
Cool project. I think if you initially bought two you would have enough material for a full cart.
Camera point of view looks like your going warp speed! Love it
Give a man a welder, grinder and an imagination and he can make anything.
Wow! Great job! I think I am going to do this with my 12 yo grandson.
Look at you having fun man, what a way to enjoy the project
Heck yeah! Good Work
This was fun to watch!
Awesome video and that thing looks like it’s a blast!
Excellent work!!!
super high production value! cant believe u only have 1k subs. Keep making content like this and u will blow up, the algorithm definitely picked this video up, so clearly you're doing something right. Best of luck going forward!
This is pretty impressive garage engineering bro. You earned the sub.
Sickkkk build bro 🤙
Dude this thing is sick love the idea cool!
I have been thinking of a build just like this for years im glad someone finally did it🎉
I appreciate the seizure warning
Your welcome
u did NOT put that there 😭😭❌❌🙏🙏@@trickfkitmakeitwork886
Womp womp
Amazing work!!
amazing video and project!!
Ha. That is so crazy. Thats exactly what Ive been thinking about. Glad you're doing it. Awsome
love it bro! you should do more video like that
I am working on ideas right now...
Awesome Li'l Red Drift Kart 👌... looks like a lot of fun 😀 👍
AWESOME build Dude....MOPAR 4 EVER.
I cant believe i never thought of this! Awesome
Childhood dream come true lol, nice work on this crazy go kart
😮Wow!! How Cool is That?! Excellent Creaftsmanship and Detailed Video With Explanation. You Did a Awesome Job!! 👍 👏 👏 👌 🏎️ Be Safe and Careful.
so smart dude. great job. definitely want to try this someday. frames are so esspensive.
Damn! this is so majestic!
This is fantastic project, you got a steal when you took a chance on those pressure washers. Fair play man watched the whole thing
That looks so cool...Great deal on the motors :)
In the office of a start-up I was in, we had those 250?watt little Razor scooters. We also had a moving dolly.... we quickly realized that just putting the handle down on the traction padding was enough if you sat on the dolly to "secure it" and make a pivot point, the scooters have collapsable handles so ... down they go and ... off to the races we went... literally...haha
Would love to see a video of that. Sounds way easier and cheaper than all the cutting and welding. Some of us have the skills but of course not the equipment.
I didn’t expect this much from a dolly go kart build!😃😃👍
The handtruck on the way home: oh boy i hope i get to lift lots of heavy things!
10 minutes later: OHHH MY GO- NOT MY HANDLE NOOOOOO AAAGGGHHHMYYYWHEEEEELSSS
I think learning anything mechanical or technical is very useful. Makes you a better problem solver and could be useful in everday situations such as cars breaking down or being stranded.
Nice Working Dude
This is a dope little Dori kart!!
Great Video! I really want to build one with the kids, will be happy to see a motor tutorial (how it is built and troubleshooting) because that's my weak spot
have the same idea back then, what I don't have is the courage to make one hahahaha. that's awesome man
Nice job!
Excellent man you've helped me out with how to make a chassis. now i need to get parts 😵
awesome man
FANTASTIC JOB VERY CREATIVE
Now do a Moving Dolly go kart, but with same shape of the dolly still, so like a stand up to kart!!!
Wheel barrow wheel cart combo withratrod vibe😮 killer videos
Awesome content
Love all the hard work
My 2 cents The dolly has harden steel thicker gauge
The racer in me . . .
Get a shopping cart more thinner tube Lighter is faster
We are all ready at neck braking speeds no pads or helmet. Who cares our wives don’t
Great job 🤜👍
My kinda people right here. Ill subscribe for more of this type of cool stuff
It's amazing how one person sees one thing, and some one else sees something completely different!! You saw a go cart from a hand cart, I also saw a wheel barrel without the handles and brackets and the wheels. Turn the wheel barrel basin upside down, and you have a roof for your go cart!! Just thinking!! Thanks for sharing!!!
You have my sub kind sir. Finally someone making things that are relatable, instead of pouring 20k$ into a "mini" whatever build thats a piece of junk anyways.
Good job dude
Man u did a great job 👍💯👍
Cool project. I think 2 dollys would provide a lot more material to not have to scrimp on the frame. I'm going to use one for a trike frame.
I love it Bro. Your creative. You made something out of nothing. Awesome sauce
Awesome work. Faster than I anticipated. I’m guessing 30 mph.
You really brought that childhood dream to life! 😮
I wouldnt run those without the door open in the garage. Loved the video stay safe
Didnt notice you opened it later lmao
Give this guy a pay raise this guy has a smart cookie
Good stuff!
This is pretty cool. I would love to build something like this with my nephew.
That Honda GX390 is the best, they have so many aftermarket support. I am currently building one for a gocart.
Awesome! I am fitting it to my next project, coming soon
I always wanted to build one that looked like a tee bucket from an old wheel barrow. Awesome build👍
I love those too
Next build?
@@henrytaylor3049 I've already got 3 builds lined up, but maybe later this year
I subscribed, we'll see.😍
@@henrytaylor3049 I appreciate it!
Respect 😎
super epic
Sick
First off 3 motors for $50. Bucks is a steal i have a Subaru Robin 6. Hp on one of my minibikes it is awesome. That hand truck frame is a awesome idea for finish a minibike frame im working on. Nice build on the go cart.
I really like the build. My thoughts would be to find a very cheap or free riding mower to salvage all the steering components, seat and some of the extra materials.
I am going to build this! Thank you
Beware of those Honda GC engines, my buddy put one on his mini bike (db30) and it was in fairly new condition he only had it on his mini bike for a week and a half, we went for a trail ride and when we did a lil race the belt inside broke and let one of the valves drop down to far and when the piston came back up it pushed the valve crooked and up into the head really bad and it trashed that whole engine just because the timing belt inside broke and we had to take his chain off and tow him back slowly
The head got messed up, the piston cracked, the bottom end got a lil seized and had play it was terrible just because the belt broke
Oof, that would suck
I can’t even fckin express how much I am learninng from this and how many times my eyes widened or my jaw dropped as this video goes on this dude is a blueprint human and this video is not meant to show the viewer things they could do no not at all, his 3 pressure washer motors for $50 on FB market was significant and unique to him, what this video shows is EVERYTHING that it would take to achieve the same result, this man is beyond just skills, he is one of the most competent cohesive people I have ever witnessed I swear, but I’m still falling behind on everything he’s saying cause he’s just so pro he’s got the pro language I gotta break down (which is good, more to learn)
Inner child is happy on that test drive 😂
Great video love the resourcefulness with the cart. Try to remember a helmet.
i would add a brace from the back of the engine mounting plate either over or under the axel to stop the insane vibration which would also put less stress on the chain
I’m actually building plans to make a go kart in frame but this was an interesting take!! I wonder how it would look if there was a surron motor on there!
love is good job!!!
Where are you located?
I built something similar many years ago out of scrap stuff in my shop, everything worked good at first but I guess I’m too heavy and burned the clutch up pretty quick, I bought another clutch and it lasted about the same amount of time, this was about 20 years ago, clutches are probably a bit better now than they used to be.
