This is definitely one of those songs that takes me back to those feelings I had when I was in my 20s. I loved Little River Band back then. Have you heard the live version of this with John Farnham singing lead? It's stunning.
So, I played this for my parents when it came out. This is their love story. Glen Miller and Cole Porter were their bands! They saw each other from across the room and that was it!! Six kids and fifty years of marriage later...❤️
My father introduced me to the Glen Miller Orchestra; Big Bands were the rock bands of the 20's, 30's, and 40's. That helped me appreciate all forms of music
🎯. Very nice track. Im 70. Reminiscing is my life now. I hope you're replenishing your Lady's fresh flower supply at all times because nothing in this life is nearly close to as beautiful as a pair of Bright eyes reflecting bright and beautiful fresh flowers.
At 73 and 51 years of marriage. Two kids and two grand kids. Reminiscing can be heart breaking and heart warming simultaneously. It's hard to express those feelings. How can something make you feel warm and happy, but sad at the same time? They do it well here.
My husband passed away unexpectedly at 56 yo. I received the call on March 25, 2023 from his company. He was an overseas ontaractor. I remember the first time he kissed me; he asked for my permission to do so. I said, yes, of course, and when he leaned down, he was much taller than I, he bumped his head on a hanging plant. He muttered, said he was afraid he was going to do that, and then asked if he could try again. I said sure, and then he went quickly ended up kissing me beside my mouth, then said, "Danggit! I missed" or something along those lines. We laughed about that many times over the past 2 decades. May 26 would have been out 21st anniversary. God Bless and keep him.
Here’s my love story….I met my wife in the 7th grade…it was 1986…I actually met her sister first in band…her sister HATED me….don’t know why…i had long hair and they called me a freak…so anyway…i meet her younger sister…who i had NO CLUE they were sisters…and i thought…MAN she’s BEAUTIFUL!!…then i see them together…and her sister says…”Stay away from him! He’s a weirdo freak!”…so i noticed Wendy (My wife) was always on the honor roll….and would go to lunch early…so I studied my butt off to make honor roll and I finally did! I was so proud of myself and if you made the honor roll you were able to go to lunch early…so the teacher called my name IN DISBELIEF…and i was on my way to lunch early, to try and talk to Wendy…but i was stopped repeatedly in the hallways by other teachers I didn’t have for class….they knew my reputation…so they would stop me and question me, and ask to see my report card….well…i ended up being late for lunch and didn’t get to talk with her. Then I got transferred to another English class….and there she was…in that very class…and I started to talk to her…she was hesitant but i tried to be funny, and “cool” and I wasn’t what she expected…and I asked her…”Do you like Star Wars?”…and she said…”I LOVE Star Wars!”….and I said to myself…”Im going to marry this girl!”….sure enough…we ended up together later that year…all through high school…and we’re married with 3 teenage kids. We both loved this song…it reminds us of when we were young.
Gee whiz, what a great story! It's very moving. Thank you. (Not crying...just...something in my eye.) (...Ok, crying a little bit. These are manly tears, though.) 🥲
We didn't want to have a 'traditional' first dance at our wedding because we don't like being the center of attention, so instead the DJ called all couples in the extended family to the dance floor and we all danced to this. That's cool. I'm always listening for potential "first wedding dance" songs which is weird since I'm a lifelong single person, was never much into dating or really looking for the man to spend a life with . . . Anyways, listening to this just now had me thinking this would be a good wedding dance song. But it's PERFECT for how you used it. Best wishes to all the happy couples!
September 2nd, 1978 the love of my life and I were married. This song was our wedding song. We are still in love to this day. Enjoy a part of our life from the start...
The '70s had some of the best music ever recorded. This was all done without the benefit of computers and digital processing. It's amazing to think how these great sounds must have been achieved.
I've been playing and recording since the 1980s. Back then, before digital recording there was tape. I recording to albums with a band on tape before there was digital. The last one they did have DAT (Digital Audio Tape) for mix down. The big difference is in the mixing. You had to dial everything in first so it sounds right. We'd be there at the mixing board as it's playing back and adjust the faders at the spots and the right amount. It's an art form. and FUN! By the way, the tape deck we recorded on that last time was a huge 3M machine with 2" wide tape. The studio we were recording in had recently bought the machine from a studio in Los Angeles and was the same tape deck that Michael Jackson's Thriller was recorded on.
its unreal how my generation took music in the 1970s and 80s for granted because we thought it would never end, so many bands and so many hits we all had a ball!. in the cars listening to 8 tracks then cassettes wondering if a tape would get chewed up in the player. Its great to see todays younger generation digging our music and picking up the vibs from different instruments. Good music can heal a community and lift your spirits like the 1975-85 era did.
It was a different time. I was poor then, poorer than some can imagine. Working in a coal mine, a farm, and yet the future seemed bright and open, with endless possibilities. I had no girl friend then, but that song taught me what I wanted with that girl I would eventually find. My travels took me to Peru, Mexico, finishing at the university, rising up in business and then that girl found me. We raised children and whenever that song comes on, she remembers how she wanted to find that boy in her youth in distant California and I wanted to find that girl in my youth indistant Virginia. The universe is a strange place that makes the world small enough for such a boy and girl to meet. My son just married a year ago. I wish the best for him. God does bless us
Little River Band is a wayyy underrated band with lots of great songs...."Its a Long Way There," has a great sound that really shows off their harmony vocals.
Today is my oldest son's 37th birthday. I have been sitting around all day just thinking about that time. Back in the stone ages before they did ultrasounds for a noncomplicated pregnancy, all the clue they could give you about the baby's sex was the size and heartrate. So 9 months worth of telling me it was going to be a small girl, my husband and I prepared a nursery and picked out a girl's name - then out he came - this 8lb boy. I remember my husband and I just looking at him like huh?? He finally got a name, Ryan, and rocked his pink bassinet lol. He is the sweetest guy with a family and beautiful son of his own. This song was perfectly timed for me today. Thanks Jay and Amber!!
The reference, in this song, to Glenn Miller made me hope you both will take a minute and do a Glenn Miller Band Song. The music was of my grandparents era but is absolutely timeless.
Frank Sinatra called this a near perfect song and wanted very much to record it! LRB are often referred to as The Eagles of Australia. You two haven't done the LRB song that is my personal favorite: Take it Easy on Me. Jay will lose his mind over that one!
There is a very Sinatraeque version of this by a guy named Michael Civisca. I had one full album by him. He also does a version of "Luck Be A Lady" by Sinatra in the Mel Gibson film "Payback." He sounds virtually identical!!
I love the Little River Band. One late night back in 1980 I was looking for something to watch on tv (antennae). I found a PBS program on Little River Band. The group was sitting around talking. They started talking about going to see Frank Sinatra! I thought If these long hair hippie men can openly say they are going to a Sinatra Concert, then so can I. I was 15 years old and saw Ole Blue Eyes is Back (my first concert) about the same time with my parents.
I was in a long distance relationship. My girlfriend came to visit. It wasn't going well. She decided to take an early train back. At the station, when her train pulled in, instead of saying goodbye, I impulsively got on too. I rode with her for an hour. We talked. Then I got off and rode for another hour back home. We reconciled, and we've now been married for 32 years. We've got lots of memories.
When I was 13, my brother who was 18 got a lift home with a friend. They spent the weekend. After they left, I told my mother that I was going to marry that bloke. She laughed at me, thinking I was just being fanciful. That lovely bloke is now my husband and we just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary.
Yeah that's Glenn Shorrock, he had a great career with LRB he is widely regarded here in australia. It's unfortunate that none of the original members are in the band anymore.
By who? They sold over 30 million albums world wide (13 top 40 US records) and are recognized as one of Australia's most significant bands. "Reminiscing" was recognized by Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI) as one of the most frequently played songs in the history of US radio.
@@MarkCucchiara Please try and understand the difference between a great band with tons of awards and accolades that stopped performing with their best line-up 40 years ago and are forgotten and/or unheard of by most and therefore not thought of often; and a great band that is currently performing without accolades and are therefore truly "underrated".
My parents danced to Glenn Miller's music. I can almost see them dancing to this. Daddy served in WWII. Glenn Miller's plane went down during that war and was never recovered. This song has always been special to me. Makes me think of my parents.. It's my favorite LRB song. Don't think they have any I don't like. Thanks so much foor reviewing this favorite.
Sometime in late seventies. Mom and dad in front seat of the car. WLS The Big 89/Rock of Chicago on the Radio. We're coming back from a wedding of the children of two families my parents knew. My first love in the back seat beside me. This song on the radio. Didn't think life would get much better than that.
I've always loved how this song referenced "Glenn Miller's Band" and "Cole Porter's Tune ( Night and Day )". I was in High School in the 1970s but, I was a big fan of the music of the 1930s and 40s! This song brought it all together in a very nice way!
It is wonderous how memory works, J remembers hollering at jogging Amber, Amber remembers every time she saw J's car. When I get into little tifs with the missus, this song reminds me of the value of our "Lifetime Plan" and why I am in love in the first place. I love that you finally found this LRB treasure.
I've been waiting for this! My absolute favorite song of theirs! Here's my story: I'd met my husband S. twice at local shows with friends, but didn't know him well. One evening my car broke down in the middle of nowhere, and I didn't know who to call... this was before internet on smartphones, by the way... none of my lady friends had any idea who to call. So I texted a few guy friends, including S. He immediately texted back, called a tow truck, found a nearby shop, and while my girlfriend picked me up he brought us dinner and a movie. Throughout the whole following week he checked in for me to make sure the repairs were moving along well, and we had our first official date the following weekend after we picked up my car from the shop! That was 13 years ago, and we've been married now 10 years.
A little over 50 years ago, there was this really cute redhead sitting behind me in a college class. My back started itching and I couldn’t reach the spot so she reached up and scratched it for me. That was reason enough to get to know her. This November will be our 50th anniversary. Unlike Charlie Brown, I got to marry the little red headed girl❤. That is my “reminiscing.”
This was from The Little River Band's 4th album from 1979. They sold 25 million records, and 13 of their songs made it to the Top 40. This song was their biggest and made it to Number 3. " Hurry Don't Be Late" a line in this song features their Hallmark harmonies. Graham Gobles was said to be the Brian Wilson influence of this band. Beautiful vocals, incredible horns and incredible lyrics make this a heart warming song of long, true love. Incredible. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦🇨🇦
OMGosh! This song bring back some really heart felt memories. I was 19 at the time, ( I’m now 64!) and was going through the Jack in the Box drive through, when the guy in the car in front of me, literally got out of his car and walked over to me! It was a guy, that I had a huge crush on in High School! He graduated in ‘76, me in ‘77! He walked up to me and said “hi, how have you been!” I could barley utter a word out, when he asked, if would like to park while we eat and talk! (he was driving a convertible Trans Am!) He asked me to come sit in his car. I got in, and before I could say anything at all he said “ I want you to listen to this song, please” it was Reminiscing by The Little River Band! He said, “please listen to it carefully!” I did! And I was floored! I never knew how he felt! He on the other hand, knew I had this enormous crush on him! I think the whole school did!! We sat and ate and talked. Went on many dates and had the best of times. It lasted for a while, until 6 months into the relationship, I sadly found out he was separated, had a child and another on the way too! All this was revealed to me, by his wife!! I apologized to her, because I truly didn’t know & she could clearly see that didn’t. Never spoke to him again, much less saw him either. So, yes this song, has a lot of mixed emotions and feelings for me, to say the least! Oh well. “Ce la vie!” 😏 I still love the song though. 😊
My parents met on a blind date. All my dad was told was that she had just lost weight and had a great personality! He was a dashing young Navy pilot and she was visiting a high school friend in San Diego. They met and it was love at first sight. They were married for 55 years. "Unchained Melody" was their song. I miss them both.
Little River Band - Reminiscing One of the most likable songs you'll ever come across They had 5 Top 10's in the US This was their biggest US hit, reaching #3 in 1978
“I love that hand drumming coming out of the left ear” this man has really developed an ear over the course of this channel’s journey haha would have never made a comment like that a year ago
This is me and my brother falling asleep in the back of our parents car coming home from the drive inn after seeing Grease. the smell of popcorn and the breeze coming through the window as this song plays in the background. Music is a time machine....
My hubby and I married in 1989. While we were dating and I was away at school, he mailed me special Valentine surprises leading up to Valentines Day. About 10 years ago, he began again. I am now one of the older ladies where I work, I work with a lot of young married women. Every year, for about the last 10 years, he sneaks into my office and leaves goodies every day, not just for me but for the entire office. Everyone looks forward to this except for the hubbies who hear about it when their wives get home....lol. I get flowers and we all get candy, pastries, donuts etc. The kids we all work, benefit from it too. I am truly blessed...and spoiled.
Finally, you got to this beautiful song absolutely outstanding thank you guys for reacting to this song. The harmonies in my opinion are the best I’ve heard.!
8:06 I met my wife through an online writer’s workshop, in 2002, even before Facebook or anything. I loved her thoughts and comments, and finally asked her for her phone number since we were flying emails back and forth at each other every day. So we started talking every day and even though I wasn’t looking, I fell in love over the phone. Guys, we knew we were falling in love with each other and I asked her to marry me OVER THE PHONE before I HAD EVEN SEEN A PICTURE OF HER. She came to visit me for the first time in late 2002, what a bundle of nerves! I stood there at the airport with a sign that had her name on it, because I still had no idea what she looked like! I didn’t know which lady was gonna walk up to me and say “Hi, I’m Lisa, I’m the love of your life!” We have been married now for almost 18 years!!! STILL GOING STRONG!! ❤
Good for you brother,! Alhamdulillah, mashallah 😁 love is the most important thing in the world! May Allah bless and keep you and your loved ones on the righteous path, inshallah. 🤲☪ 🙌
As a youngster I loved this song and imagined what it would be like to have a wife that I could reminisce with in my old age. A few years later, when I first moved away from home at 19, I met a woman that the men all swooned over, at a party my roommate threw. Within minutes of meeting her we were making out in the kitchen. It was a very good night, but then I didn't see her for a while. A little over a year later we crossed paths again, and once we did, we started dating for good. A couple of decades went by, with many great memories created, when we discovered a mutual love of this song. We knew in the future it would grow in meaning for us. Now, 36 years together, the last 7 married, we have made a lifetime of wonderful memories and feel the full depth of reminiscing over the years whenever we hear this song. And tonight we enjoyed your reaction to it, and reminisced a little more about how lucky we were to meet in that kitchen all those years ago.
Myyyy goodness! Love this song! It’s so chill and romantic. Their playing sounds so good, I get the sense they are really good musicians. Reminds me of Steely Dan. A lil jazzy. They mention “Night and Day” and Glenn Miller’s band, so they are jazz fans.
One of my favorite songs from high school. Glenn croons it so well and the background harmonizing is first rate. Classy, nostalgic, big band feel. It's a winner! (BTW Jordan & Amber, you two are too cute with your college stories!)
I went to see Foreigner in concert with my future wife and LRB was the opening band. This was on Sept. 20, 1977. I was in my first year of college and she was a high school senior. What a vibe they gave. We are still together and love "Reminiscing".
Soft rock indeed. met my wife while working part time at McD's. I taught her how to make scrambled eggs with an egg ring. A year and a half later we were an item.
Such a talented band loved them since I was a teenager, I don’t think they have a bad song ! I knew the first time I saw my husband we were juniors in high school 1979 , I saw him and I said I’m going to get him to ask me out . No judgement but back in my high school years we were aloud to smoke on campus,so one day between classes I ask him for a cigarette, he said he just had the one he was smoking, I said that’s alright we can share 😂😂 we started dating that year and got married in 1986 and we’re still together 💕( ps I stopped smoking twelve years ago) 🙋🏻♀️
FIrst "Copacabana" and now this, both from 1978. I think this makes 84 songs from that year that you've done. If you had a certain DeLorean, I'm betting that'd be your first trip. 😁 For your next LRB venture, I'd recommend "The Other Guy," "Lonesome Loser" or "Take It Easy On Me".
This is a homage to the big bands of the 30's and 40's with shout-outs to bandleader Glenn Miller and songwriter Cole Porter (and his hit song "Night And Day").
When this song came out I was only about 10 years old. I loved Little River Band but now that I'm 50 something this song has SO much meaning. Just wow..
Yeah G'day It's always good to hear Glenn Shorrock back as lead again and in my opinion, this was their best period of songwriting and vocal harmonies. Also, check our Glenn in Axiom either 'Arkansaw Grass' or 'A Little ray of Sunshine.'. Thanks for all the great work and tunes. Cya, round like a rissole.
This is my all time favorite LBR song. I didn't know my husband when this record came out. But one of my favorite memories is when my now husband asked me out for the first time. I had no idea that he was interested in me. We worked together, but he would just say high in passing. One day, another co-worker asked if I would be I interested in going with one of his friends. I told him that his friend would have to ask me himself. When he .came to talk to me, I surprised it was him. Like I said earlier, I had no idea her was interested in me. His approach was so cute and not at all cocky . This melted my heart and I said yes. Our date consisted of dinner and a movie, St Elmos Fire. Thirty seven years later, we are still together.
So glad you guys liked it! One of my two favorite Little River Band songs. The other one is The Night Owls. It's different from Reminiscing but just as good!
What a treat! Haven't heard that in ages... ...I married my Drill Sgt in 1982, and that story is way too long to even begin. Just celebrated 40 years of putting up with each other... ;)
Well, Amber, you did ask for a good story. Here goes. It was the night of my HS prom way back in 1979 (I know; I'm old and have gotten over it). I was the editor of my high school newspaper and year book, but I had just broken up with my first "real" boyfriend and didn't have a date for the prom. I'd sprung for the tickets and reserved a table at a wonderful place where we'd go after games. My plans were ruined. I went to school with the dance looming over me. I thought I was hiding it pretty well until I got in the senior lounge and started crying. One of my friends (who never liked my ex anyway) ran to get Michael, my friend and assistant editor. Like in a movie, he waited until I stopped crying. I told him what happened. He asked me to go, even though he was a year behind me. Finally, I said yes. We went to dinner and to the venue; however, the chaperones at the door wouldn't allow an underclassman (male) to enter. So, we went to the movies, ran through the mall to get snacks, and enjoyed a double feature. It was one of the best nights of my young life. We lost touch; however, I would love to think he met someone at Harvard, and he's been slaying his wife's dragons, too.
I was 11 years old when this song came out. The lyrics make me swoon. If a man sang to me "I wanna tell you girl...I want to build my world around you" I would melt through the floor 😏💙
I had a record player set up in the kitchen of my dormitory my 1st year of college & I played this album all the time. I can’t believe I forgot about them!
Have you ever heard a song and you’re automatically transported to a specific place and time? This song is that for me!❤
It does to me I hear that song. Nostalgia at a max level
Absolutely!!! This reminds me of driving across the USA in the late 70’s.
This is definitely one of those songs that takes me back to those feelings I had when I was in my 20s. I loved Little River Band back then. Have you heard the live version of this with John Farnham singing lead? It's stunning.
Same
This song always gives me that late night, late 70s relaxing kind of feeling, even if it is modern day listening to the classics
So, I played this for my parents when it came out. This is their love story. Glen Miller and Cole Porter were their bands! They saw each other from across the room and that was it!! Six kids and fifty years of marriage later...❤️
Glenn Miller's plane went missing over the English Channel during WW2. It was likely shot down but no wreckage was ever found.
Awe thats sweet
My father introduced me to the Glen Miller Orchestra; Big Bands were the rock bands of the 20's, 30's, and 40's. That helped me appreciate all forms of music
Glen Miller is aces
🎯. Very nice track. Im 70. Reminiscing is my life now. I hope you're replenishing your Lady's fresh flower supply at all times because nothing in this life is nearly close to as beautiful as a pair of Bright eyes reflecting bright and beautiful fresh flowers.
This song is so indescribably good. It just picks you up from whatever mood you were in and takes you somewhere far away, and you start reminiscing
At 73 and 51 years of marriage. Two kids and two grand kids. Reminiscing can be heart breaking and heart warming simultaneously. It's hard to express those feelings. How can something make you feel warm and happy, but sad at the same time? They do it well here.
Wow! So very well put! Music has the ability to evoke such strong emotions, both positive and sometimes negative.
I love people with your elite level of perception. Very well put sir 👏🏻
Well put :)
I'm not entirely sure I've ever felt a comment more than this one.
You nailed it with this comment.
My husband passed away unexpectedly at 56 yo. I received the call on March 25, 2023 from his company. He was an overseas ontaractor. My husband played this for me a lot when we were falling in love. Since he passed away, I can only Reminisce by myself and our kids and grandbabies.

(...Ok, crying a little bit. These are manly tears, though.) 🥲
I love your story! ❤❤❤😊
@@ThatoneDevinBookerfan thank you!
I don't know why, but watching you two youngsters enjoy this music that I love and grew up with makes me so happy.
Ditto. I couldn't have said it any better.
So many great songs by LRB. "Take it easy on me", "Man on your mind", "Night owls", "Lonesome Loser". 🤟😃
Agreed 😊🥰
Those are all great songs.
Love Take It Easy on Me
"Cool Chsnge"
@@seanswinton6242 That was their second reaction, great song though.

That is so awesome 💖
Sounds like one of those "perfect" moments you will remember for the rest of your life . . . both the moment and the feelings you had.
This is by far my favorite Little River Band song. Thanks kids for the reaction.
They actually sang in concerts too. 😊
Ever heard of people learning to play musical instruments, and then getting good at it? #smh
Complete agree.
As legendary session guitarist Jay Graydon once said, "Before there was Pro Tools, there were PROS."
I've been playing and recording since the 1980s. Back then, before digital recording there was tape. I recording to albums with a band on tape before there was digital. The last one they did have DAT (Digital Audio Tape) for mix down.

They say John Lennon was mesmerized by the song and played it on repeat when on drives, and Sinatra said it was the best song of the 70’s.
As an Australian, I'm just so glad that so many people have been given so much happiness.
God does bless us
It really was a different time back then.
This was the tape that hard rock fans pulled out from under the seat after they dropped their friends off. The calming nightcap to ease yourself home.
On 8 Track of course.
😂
Hehe!
So true! 😂
Jay & Amber, you'll love their "Lonesome Loser"!!
They have done Lady! Check it out!
@@anexceleratedlife thanks, fixed
You will love it. It won't disappoint.
This song sounds like it just dropped from the sky, perfect and sublime.
Little River Band is a wayyy underrated band with lots of great songs...."Its a Long Way There," has a great sound that really shows off their harmony vocals.
That is a great song!
My personel favourite !
Make sure its the 8:43 album version & not the radio edit.
Yes! This song!!!!
One of my favorite songs by them! The guitar is amazing
In my opinion, this is one of the best songs in music history. Thank you both for reacting to this awesome song.
Yes, everything about thus song is great and the vocals!
Yes indeed.

Yes indeed...Very true.@@archimedesscrew3710
Love Glen Shorrock's voice. So smooth.
It goes by so quickly.
The reference, in this song, to Glenn Miller made me hope you both will take a minute and do a Glenn Miller Band Song. The music was of my grandparents era but is absolutely timeless.
Based on the billboard charts, this song reached #3 in the fall of 1978, their highest charting single
One of the best nostalgic love songs ever written. The harmonies are breathtaking.
Late 70's soft rock. Another song that was all over the radio when it came out!
You guys are channeling the ghost of Kasey Kasem tonight. Two big 1978 hits in a row.
Frank Sinatra called this a near perfect song and wanted very much to record it!
LRB are often referred to as The Eagles of Australia.
You two haven't done the LRB song that is my personal favorite: Take it Easy on Me. Jay will lose his mind over that one!
The Eagles were big fans of LRB.
There is a very Sinatraeque version of this by a guy named Michael Civisca. I had one full album by him.
He also does a version of "Luck Be A Lady" by Sinatra in the Mel Gibson film "Payback." He sounds virtually identical!!
Except LRB doesn't block like the fn Eagles.
Agreed. Take it Easy on me is their best.
My best friend met his wife at a high school football game. This song was playing, and totally described his feelings for her.
This singer never got enough credit, man's has a great voice.
Yeah that's Glenn Shorrock, he had a great career with LRB he is widely regarded here in australia. It's unfortunate that none of the original members are in the band anymore.
Truly underrated band.
By who? They sold over 30 million albums world wide (13 top 40 US records) and are recognized as one of Australia's most significant bands.
"Reminiscing" was recognized by Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI) as one of the most frequently played songs in the history of US radio.
Please look up the definition of "underrated".
My Parents were too busy fighting in the dark.
That's pure 70s vibe! I grew up in that mood.
My favorite little river bands song
Great Australian band, thanks for playing this my favourite LRB song, from Tasmania, Australia.
Can you imagine these two as grandparents telling different versions. I hope these two make it together for the long term as they seem really sweet.
@@willowthegood9035 We can only hope for the best in the future for them, those lovely children of theirs, and beyond.
I've been waiting for this! My absolute favorite song of theirs! Here's my story:
I'd met my husband S. twice at local shows with friends, but didn't know him well.
That is so sweet! I'm happy for you both 😊❣
Great band. Great song. There's a lot going on lyrically, vocally, and musically.
One of those songs that you love the first time you hear it.😊❤️
I love this song so much! It's wholesome, jazzy, smoky and every young woman fantasized that this was how they'd fall in love. Wow!!
One of the truly under rated and under appreciated bands ever.
I've loved them for years!! Such great music🥰
Oh well. “Ce la vie!” 😏
I still love the song though. 😊
I remember dancing to this song, with a certain someone, back when it was new. Thank you for reminding me! 😁
Little River Band - Reminiscing
One of the most likable songs you'll ever come across
They had 5 Top 10's in the US
This was their biggest US hit, reaching #3 in 1978
I loved this song the very first time I heard it. It's so lovely and sweet.
“I love that hand drumming coming out of the left ear” this man has really developed an ear over the course of this channel’s journey haha would have never made a comment like that a year ago
One of my favorite bands ever. They have so many great songs, so I hope you check them out more.
this reminds me of Poco. and my favorite song by them in the heart of the night. very sultry chill romantic
That was BEAUTIFUL.
Great song I have been playing it for years. Great Chord Changes..
Without even laying eyes on each other. That’s real. Beautiful.
Real music!
One of my favorite songs from high school. Glenn croons it so well and the background harmonizing is first rate. Classy, nostalgic, big band feel. It's a winner! (BTW Jordan & Amber, you two are too cute with your college stories!)
To me the springs back great memories of very soul full walk
Oh yeah! Love Little River Band, they have so much good music ✌❤🎶
Man on your mind is a great one also Take it Easy on Me!!! ❤
This is one of the smoothest pop songs ever.
A great band! A great song, great reaction!
78 was a great year, in fact my favorite years for music were 78 to 82.
😁All great! I look forward to them getting to each song in time. 😊
And ironically both “Reminiscing” and “Copacabana” have a connection to the 1940s.
This is my favorite LRB song! I’ve been a fan since the 70’s when I was in high school. They are amazing.
This is a homage to the big bands of the 30's and 40's with shout-outs to bandleader Glenn Miller and songwriter Cole Porter (and his hit song "Night And Day").
Maybe my favorite song by Little River Band. Love the way all the instruments blend together perfectly, and it gives you a pleasant, soothing mood.
When this song came out I was only about 10 years old. I loved Little River Band but now that I'm 50 something this song has SO much meaning. Just wow..
Yeah G'day
It's always good to hear Glenn Shorrock back as lead again and in my opinion, this was their best period of songwriting and vocal harmonies.
Night Owls is a great song
What a treat! Haven't heard that in ages... ...I married my Drill Sgt in 1982, and that story is way too long to even begin. Just celebrated 40 years of putting up with each other... ;)
John Farnham sang with LRB for a while. There's a live version of him singing this.
Nice to hear little river and again my favorite
John Farnham was the lead singer for LRB for the first part of the 80’s. he does a great version of this song as only John can. Worth a look.
Best version of it.
To me, Glen Shorrock will always be the voice of LRB.
Glen does a great job but John Farnham really does it better.
@@oldguynewmusic6632 Definitely like the original version with Glen best.
@@oldguynewmusic6632 definitely
that bass part is perfect ;9)
They are so smooth and talented. Love the chord changes...they seem so easy and produce such a great song.
LRB are one of my favorite soft rock bands from the 70's/ 80s. Thanks for playing it.
Fave Aussie band.
Night Owls is my favorite LRB song - different singer and different vibe.
I have always loved the jazzy keyboard and flugelhorn at the end.
I was 11 years old when this song came out. The lyrics make me swoon. If a man sang to me "I wanna tell you girl...I want to build my world around you" I would melt through the floor 😏💙
One of my top 5 favorite songs of all time!!!
First Copacabana and now this? Some of my FAVORITE songs when I was just a tween going on 13. Love it.
I’m 65 and I had this 8 track tape in my car and played Little River Band for hours and hours.
Graham Goble has said that he wrote this in 20 minutes.
Check out Professor of Rock's interview with Graham.
I had a record player set up in the kitchen of my dormitory my 1st year of college & I played this album all the time. I can’t believe I forgot about them!
