People want to throw shade on Isabella . But I stand by this queen. She was no ''She Wolf '' It was just that she got sick and tired of being a doormat. She fought back.
She wolf is a compliment in my book. They could have just said “b*tch”. She wolf demands respect and shouldn’t be taken lightly. The only problem with her is she is Spanish and we inherited our historical perspective from England. They did the same sort of mischaracterizing to Napoleon.
Are you kidding me? She betrayed her king, committed infidelity, and destroyed her reputation and family. The king was killed thanks to his “wife”. Only the glorious reign of Edward III could reinvigorate the crown like a phoenix from the ashes.
SHE SAVED HIS ASS NUMEROUS TIMES. FOR MANY YEARS SHE CONDUCTED HERSELF AS THE PERFECT WIFE AND PERFECT QUEEN.
FROM THE VERY START EDWARD WAS A TOTAL SCUMBAG TO HER.
Well that's just wonderful, I'm sure she really appreciates it and has surely added you to her Thank You card list 👍
@@rraych1132She was loyal to her husband for a long time, despite the fact that he ignored her for his favorites. Having her children taken away was the last straw, I think. I don’t blame her for getting fed up.
At least their marriage, however disastrous it turned out to be, resulted in England's greatest king : Edward III. Love your video on him too
If she didn't schemed, she would fallen as a victim of someone else's scheming.
Thank you for uploading these two documentaries in one video.
Edward behaved horribly at their wedding already, to the point that her French guests left loudly voicing their disapproval.
This was the clearest and most credible explanation of Edward III's sexuality. The more perspectives we have access to, the better the understanding.
Edward II had the misfortune, like Henry VI, to be the mediocre son of a hero king. Although he unwisely favored male courtiers, thee is no evidence that he had a physical relationship with his favorites. William II, Richard I, Edward II, Richard II, and James I all were the subject of homosexual rumors but there is no proof except for the fact these monarchs were susceptible to the influence of charismatic male associates. Whenever a monarch has favorites, factions develop. With his favoritism of his wife's relatives, Edward IV created the same kind of jealousy, resentment and distrust.
What the fuck did I spend my time listening to? God, I love this channel
😂😅😂😅😂😅😂 so true! ❤
At the 2:19:50-2:21:15 mark, I counted eight consecutive insults. And I figured he was unpopular, but I never thought he was so detested that, as revealed at the 2:23:27-2:23:49, only 55 men answered a 2,000-man call.
The misogyny of the time painted her a “she-wolf” but if she was a man, she would have been revered and regarded as doing what came naturally.
I think she was a strong women who did what she had to, to protect herself and her children, being a woman in a man’s world… initially. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and once she was unchecked and in charge she did become tyrannical as her children no longer needed her protection, but once she was back as a player she once again made choices to help her family. I don’t think she’s as black and white as people make her out, I think she’s a complex character in shades of grey, like we all are. She’s wasn’t bad or good she was just doing what she needed, in a turbulent time, when the only thing more dangerous than being on a battlefield, was being a woman.
Take your feminist nonsense somewhere else.
During the reign of Edward II, the conflict between thebking and barons was obvious. And the king had his male favourites, Gaveston and Despenser. Thus the queen had an affair with Mortimer which led to the deposition of the king.
Fortunately their son, Edward III restored everything back to 'normal'.
I always feel conflicted about giving a thumbs up 👍 for these poor babies stories, however, their stories must be told if we're to learn and evolve
Gaviston wasn’t low born, he was a noble from Gascony.
the king is the type of guy that has a hot GF but is always playing xbox with his best friend who never leaves and sleeps in same room....
@DonnellOkafor-pd7yn what? I found that to be a pretty apt comparison
@DonnellOkafor-pd7yn lol i'm 40 and i def had my friend and gf over after i got my tounsels out around 2000 and my gf sat there and watched us play dreamcast. we still laugh bout it today. thanks for thinking im young that doesn't happen very often like before lol!
I think they were doing more than Xbox.
@@SuzanneTatham-so1jj the xbox is actually a move in an ancient book that only should be done with a physician present.
Excellent narration and content. Very informative and enjoyable indeed.
People can call her "She Wolf" all they want, but she was a SURVIVOR!!!! She was "SOLD" Iike a broodmare, insulted, humiliated and shafted by her so called husband and his man toys!!!! She did what she had to do to survive!!!! And in my opinion...she is one of my idols and a heroine!!! She was an amazing woman and not given the credit and props she deserves!!!!
Thanks for sharing history , could you do a episode about ragnar 🙏🏼
Three Cheers to Isabell 🥂👊
Thank you for these videos..I LOVE HISTORY 💖 and whoever is doing the voice overs 🔥❤
Will you make a video about Francisco Pizarro in the future?
Thanks
A fine video!
How heartbreaking id to learn how so many babies died during those years.
No immunizations. Infant mortality rates only came down in the 20th century. And are creeping back up due to the anti vax movement.
Watching your lovely video now. ❤❤❤❤like

Step brothers are born prior to marriage and have different parentage
These 3 men share father so are half siblings
Not step siblings
They are Edward II’s half brothers
Good point ☝️
Could you please do a video about the legendary Dr. Buckaroo Banzai?
Beautifull, great edit as usual.did they found the mising hiker?
The DiSpencier refered to become SPENCER (ANGLASIZED) is the SPENCER FAMILY of ALTHORP, where Diana's final resting place is). Rest in Peace🕊️💜🥀
You are Hilarious! Keep up the good work
Really great video. The background music is rather distracting. Really takes away from the beautiful narration.
I tell u it's hard to keep track of who was who back then bc so many people in the families .....wow!!!
I didn’t understand the connection of the Israeli anthem and the subject in hand.
Crawling from th e wreckage. Dave Edmonds
Hard to blame Isabella for rebelling against Ed 2
Video on Erwin Rommel?
Isabella of France was certainly no Isabela of Spain
You really must not know a lot about Isabela of Spain then huh. All the genocide and torture just slipped you mind?
@user-jw7zi3rj5n you are clearly unfamiliar with the definition of genocide. Isabella, along with her predecessors across centuries, were prosecuting the Reconquista. This meant sustained warfare against the invaders (turned occupants). The primary objective was to expel them from the peninsula. With respect to the Muslims, very little has changed. See Hamas, Taliban, ISIS, and Al Qaeda. Must have slipped your mind eh?
@user-jw7zi3rj5n you must not be acquainted with the word genocide. Which implies a deliberate and systematic destruction of a race or culture. Isabela, like her predecessors did for centuries, prosecuted the Reconquista against the violent invaders (turned occupiers). War creates casualties, but thankfully, Spain successfully expelled the Moors under her reign. Centuries of occupation slipped your mind eh?
@@user-jw7zi3rj5nyou are clearly unfamiliar with the meaning of genocide.
@@ScipioAfricanus_Chris you apparently have a very lax definition of genocide if you think Christopher Columbus was a good person lol. Funded by Spain and Isabela. But maybe I read too much history
Of course, the French felt sympathy and growing admiration for the "lovers" rather than their jilted husbands. Ever the romantics. Whereas in England, conventional morality would reign.
I do wonder if the English populace and nobles harbored the same feelings about the adultery of kings, and males in general 💬
England felt little stmpathy and no respect for Edward II. Strange you tried to rewrite history in such a simplistic way. Makes sense they did not respect him as he was one of the most idiotic kings in world history and he made error after error.. There is a reason so many of his nobles were fed up with him and did not support him.
i think a lot of these focus too much on the substance of the possible relationships, and while who knows really? but for instance with Gaviston, imagine you are the son of the king, you have been told that you will be king, ordained by god. Everyone in your life is either there to use you, or kill you. You can't trust your own family, as they my try to overthrow you. You find the one person you think has your back no matter what, the only person who can take some of that fear/tension away. What would you pay for that? toss in that he was basically a petulant teen boy, i mean how many people these days do horrible things for their friends, often after their parents say "stay away". And finally, we have the 20/20 hindsight of their place in history, but these were just people trying to live the best they could, often with a lot of disadvantages, cause there rarely seems to be the proper preparations to teach these sons how to take over, a lot of times due to the fear of the father of being usurped (especially when they themselves usurped).
🐺🐺🐺
She was the bastard Queen of England but the bastard said The bastard's son the Crown Prince
Well, she was the daughter of The Iron King 😎
Și eu care credeam că este film....😮
Now we know why England didn’t spread its reign, victoriously, over Scotland & Ireland
Had they embraced their Alexander & Hephaestion, history would probably have turned out very different
It’s funny, the way life works… and how often our greatest gifts are hidden in our greatest hate
…and vice versa
😇🩷🙏🙌
She wasn't a very loyal sister.
I mean he was gay and disrespectful soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
How much loyalty can you have to a husband that doesn’t even want to be with women lol
@@user-jw7zi3rj5nEdward II, in fact, most definitely “wanted to be with women”. He had affairs with women and fathered at least one bastard; it was evident that he and Isabella had a loving relationship before Hugh Despenser started meddling with it. Isabella tried to reconcile with Edward after Hugh’s execution, but he refused to speak to her (well, understandably). When Isabella passed away, she was buried with Edward’s heart.
@@kamillavalter girl plenty of gay men have kids. Look at Tom cruise. Dont mean anything especially in an era where queerness was not able to be acted upon
@@kamillavalter being buried with your spouses heart was just the fashionable thing to do. She may have loved him. But he probably did not love her the same way back. Clearly he wanted nothing to do with her. Duh.
Never lovers. E2 was gay.
Please stop these compilations. It is a waste of time. If someone is interested in either of these they will already have listened to them/watched them. All this does is jam up the feed and the auto play with things already seen. It is infuriating to be subjected to the same video multiple times a day. In order to prevent Naxi Leadership for playing for the 100th (this is NOT an exaggeration, that video plays at least once a day) I will now be down voting EVERY compilations you put up. Love your work, hate the compilations.
Just block the channel
