Thanks for this comparison! I've been trying to figure out how to deal with the moire I'm seeing on my S1, and that sometimes I see it and sometimes I don't. Side question: I love the idea of using the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 on the S1. When you did your 4k25p test, did you get around the lens crop by manually turning on APS C mode, or by cropping in your NLE?
Thanks for the cool comparison. I have noticed some moire occasionally with my S1 but nothing that I’d say has ever caused me to regard the footage as unusable. I would definitely agree that Panasonic constantly improves their products through firmware updates (just look at the value they added to the G9). Thanks again for sharing!
This is SO helpful, I lost my entire camera bag and I'm trying to decide if I should buy an S1H (again) or if I can get by with an S1 (much cheaper) .. this video shows me that it's workable if you use V-Log and/or 10-bit
The S1 is very workable! The biggest criticism you'll hear about the S1 camera line is autofocus. If that is cruicial for you, then perhaps pick up a Sony A7S3.

The sigma mc21 adapter automatically switches to apsc mode, so you don't need to do it manually 👍

I've learned a new word!
Nice! Hopefully I pronounced it correctly 😉
S1H so expensive because of built in expensive AA filter
S1H has a few extra features over the S1! But overall the S1 serves my needs for now 😀👍
