Prograde v60 256gb card. Great cards, also work with the GH5's 400Mbit All-I mode.

Great video! Thinking to get S1H after I own S1:) I had some Moire issue a few times. Do you think SD Sandisk Extreme Pro 95/170mb are ok for internal 6k 10bit 4k/50 10bit on S1H?
Thanks! Other than the All-I recording the other modes are identical to the S1, so if it worked on your S1 it should also work on the S1H.

@@TheBudgetFilmmaker on S1 its working good but I had one situation that 6k 25fps 10bit made .mdt file that in the and is not for use.. thats why I am asking. I do not need All-I but will record 6k 25 longer shots
@@TheBudgetFilmmaker unfortunately not any time soon, covid travel restrictions means i couldn't do any international shoots. But judging from the fact that its 4k down sampled from the full 6k sensor anyway i don't expect it to be overheating in milder cimates.
There isn't an anti-aliasing filter in the S1 so moire isn't something that will be fixed via firmware. The reason for this is because not having one gives a slightly sharper image in photos.
Yes, that's why the S1H doesn't have this issue. I just tested the Moire because I got asked to. And what I found is (unsurprisingly) that it's a sensor issue, not a Prores Raw issue.
I'm using an gh5 and I love this camera! Now I'm looking to buy a 2nd camera for my job. I'm between GH5s and S1. The most important thing for me is dynamic range but I couldn't find any review that shows any big difference on UA-cam. Looks great also that the files looks to stands better in Panasonic S1 when pushing colors. Also I would like to ask about S1: 1) Has Crop at 4k 60fps Internal and external? 2) The color - on internal recording - can stands better than gh5 on heavy grading or just external?
If the form factor difference is ok for you the S1 will definitely capture the most dynamic range. 1. There is always a crop in 4k/60p no matter internal or external 2. Color grading wise it will fare a bit better with internal recording but the difference is negligible. If you want a camera that matches the GH5 best, get another GH5. Both the GH5s and S1 have minor color differences that will always need attention. I bought a second GH5 for that very reason. But if you want to upgrade and have fullframe glass go for the S1. If you only have MFT, the GH5s is a better camera than the GH5, minus the IBIS.
I would rather have the odd bit of moire in extreme cases than have a O.L.P filter degrade the sharpness of the image. And I really wish panasonic would remove the internal record limits in 5.9k, at least in 24/25p.
I think the moire/sharpness issue comes down to taste. Many DOPs want a softer look, that's when a OLPF comes in handy. I honestly am not too worried about the lack of it since I never encountered moire on a real shoot. And yes, I would also appreciate if Panasonic would remove the limit.
I can't test it but everything that softens the image reduces the chance of moire. But moire is super rare, you really have to look for it. Just be careful.
With Lumix S1, I'm still not able to access to ProRes RAW's meta data in FCPX like ISO and WB, am I the only one ? I'm FW 2.1 in Lumix S1 and FW 10.71 in Ninja V.
@@TheBudgetFilmmaker Thank you for the great video and for taking the time to provide clarification! Really appreciating that Panasonic is squeezing more features out of existing cameras to keep them relevant rather than releasing minor hardware iterations.
@@bWWd0 Sorry for the confusion, but since I hold my S1 in hand I recorded my A-Roll with my GH5 (as I always do for practical reasons). It was set to HD and upscaled, since that part is not crucial for the tests. Yes the artifact on the glasses are distracting, I believe the GH5 seems to use lineskipping in this mode which results in these staircase artifacts. I probably won't use that mode again in the future. As I said, sorry for the confusion, the S1 does not show this behaviour.
+1 for removing artificial time limit. Question: which memory card did you use for 6K recording?

Hmm that's not so great. I use Lexar V60 with 250MBs read speed and those work fine. Recorded over 3 hours of 6k without issues.
I used it in saudi at 48+ heat (version 1 firmware not 2.0) in direct sunlight and it was a beast.
Awesome! Any chance you could test that with Firmware 2.0?

15 minustes Chunks ?? what you mean, does this camaera, witch ai have, not record leonger that 15 minututes at a time ?
Wondering if the moire can be eliminated (or reduced) with a pro mist filter or other type of "softening" filter???

So if you recording 5.9k internally....camera hdmi output is in 4k?
Yes. 5.9k external recording only in Raw.
@@TheBudgetFilmmaker to me that is good news ....just ordered monitor and I was afraid of monitoring 5.9k because monitor except only 4k signal 😊...LG
That's true. I had no trouble with my Andycine 5" monitor which also only accepts up to 4K signals.
Wouldn't 1 frame be just over 40ms at 24 fps? Which lag is correct - ms or #frames?
Sorry I got it wrong there, it's 80 and 160ms, the frames are the correct number.

no slomo upgrade options???
No, slow motion options are still the same.
@@TheBudgetFilmmaker thank you for the response
The S1 is very tempting indeed. It's just too bad that Panasonic's autofocus system is so unreliable.
you really have to work to get moire. so its nothing to worry about. GH5 6K????????
