This was some dope tips!! I always have been confused why I don’t see aliasing a ton, and it’s because I’m addicted to diffusion hahaha

Thanks again!!! I found even more moire using 5s with 6K bRAW. This is super annoying. Will try and use couple of your tricks (filter & vintage lenses).

Thanks boss. Everyone has videos about how to get rid of, but I'm interested in how to avoid moire from jump. Helpful video.

Another tip: set your detail/sharpness to -3 or -5 in your picture profile. This diffuses the footage as well.

Luca, I love your positive attitude, quick smile, great information/advice, and pleasant Italian accent! I think if you keep this up you will eventually earn many subscribers. But (even though I'm not a director) I'm going to "blast you" about focus! It's very distracting that your eyes and much of your face are out of focus for so much of this video. I would advise to just go ahead and stop down the lens a bit next time and turn up the lights to bring back the exposure you want.

Thank you so much Lorenzo, I highly appreciate your feedback!
My problem is that I'm italian and when we talk we move a lot ahahah! I'll tape my feet on the next video, I use manual focus lenses at F4 when I film...I'll fix it, thank you again!

ciao Luca, Non ho ben capito l'ultimo suggerimento.

My Sony 24mp A9 is way better than my 50mp Sony A1 which is not great with Moire

Unfortunately it's not enough if your camera doesn't have an olpf

it's not called ALIASING, it's called Moire, , ALIASING is what causes the Moire, the reason for ALIASING, is because of many reason #1 is the camera does not have enough pixels to cover all the fine patterns, and causes them wavy patterns.
now Normally Camera's that have a low-pass filter , help prevent Moire, But low-pass filter's take away the camera's sharpness resolution capability, so low-pass filter's are becoming a thing of the past not many camera manufacture's Include a low-pass filter in camera's any more.
the reason is for the camera to have more sharpness, and so camera's with out a low-pass filter the customer thinks wow this camera is really sharp.
But not realizing, yes but now they will be subject to be the victim of Aliasing causing moire in their video's and still pictures.
High End Camera's such as the RED Video Camera or the IMax or panavision camera's (camera's that are use to make motion picture movies)
Have expensive low-pass filter in their camera it's right over the sensor, keep in mind these low-pass filter's are very expensive, ranging from $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 depending on the camera.
how ever these camera's range from $47,000.00 to $200,000.00 in price range so an extra $5,000 to $10,000.00 is not much.
now in DSLR's camera systems that do have or has had a low-pass filter, are not so expensive and yes not as effective, but does the job in most cases.
Another Solution to Moire, is for the camera to have more megapixels, this would decrease the amount of Moire effect depending on how bad it is and how many Megapixels the camera has.
For example many Mirrorless camera's are now creating Medium Format Camera's that start at 100 Megapixels, vs most Mirrorless full frame and crop sensor camera only having anywhere from 12 to 24 Megapixels doing video.
how ever again Medium format camera's are expensive the lowest price medium format camera you can get is the Fuji GFX100 costing around $10,00.00
vs the Hasselblad costing around $45,000.00
So this is not really a solution to people on a buget purchasing a Camera.
Average price range is around $1,000.00 to $5,000.00 people spend on a decent video camera, such as the New Canon EOSR 5 Or the Canon C300 or C500
by the way both these camera's have a low-pass filter in them.
For example the Fujifilm X-T4 Camera cost around $2,500.00 one of the best Mirrorless crop sensor camera's that can do 4k 60P how ever suffers greatly of Moire
because it does not have a low-pass filter , and and is only around 24 MP range.
So what is the solution to Moire?
well they are a few of them and you can combined most of them together to do a good job or eliminating Aliasing and getting Moire in your video or pictuers.
#1 get a camera with High Mega Pixels, and or has a low-pass filter, #2 turn down the sharpness in your camera's settings most camera's you can set to 0 and go +1 or +2 Or +3 Ad also -1 -2 -3 and so on, i set my Fuji X-T4 to -2.
#3 they are some post production tools out there that help reduce or eliminate Moire in editing and most of them cost money but are worth it, some of the best ones cost any where from
$49.00 to $200.00 and do a very good job and save you tons of time in post production you just apply them to your video and bam the Moire is greatly reduces and most cases gone.
I have shot with all kinds of camera's doing video and have suffered from Moire in the past and some Camera's that i have uses has never produced any moire.
One of them camera's for video is the red weapon monstro 8k, it's a very expensive camera costing around $54,000.00
    www.adorama.com/rd7100306.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiA-rj9BRCAARIsANB_4AAoEPWjZWNyMTtURAyFS8-11XLTey0tEYw1C8kJ_s0SJaykqsAXTkkaAuMFEALw_wcB&gclid=Cj0KCQiA-rj9BRCAARIsANB_4AAoEPWjZWNyMTtURAyFS8-11XLTey0tEYw1C8kJ_s0SJaykqsAXTkkaAuMFEALw_wcB&
And this camera is not for your average customer to get a camera for shooting vacations or birthday parties, this is a professional Video camera system that even hollywood uses, such movies that was shot with it was the Hobbit.
Now camera's manufacture's can Create camera's that eliminate Moire, by having higher megapixels and also having a low-pass filter's.
i'm sure in the future when the demand is higher for these camera's to tackle Moire problems you will see this happen, but for now hopefully all this information will help guide you.
one of the most common situations where Moire happens is when shooting a person with a fine pattern clothing that has lines in it and is very fine, so one way to help with this if your going to shoot some one in a interview or speech or something have them use a clothing that does not have these fine patters.
