Always a great day on the Tellico! Great to see you and brother spending time together treasure the days you get to spend together my brother was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer this past week and we have made a lot of great memories in the woods and on the water that are priceless to me.
TG your videos are getting better and better. Do parts of the tellico have more wild trout Than others. I guess you are fishing up high this time of year.
Thanks! Yea the higher up you fish the more wilds you typically catch. But I’ve caught some lower in the river also. So I guess it depends on time of year.
hello nice water, about those bugs , and nats get a dryer sheets before you go out fishing out a sheet in your vest, wipe it arounf your neck arms, they also sale wrist bans for bugs..
Man, this has been a minute haha. I usually use an egg or some pheasant tails. Blow torches. Fire starters. I’ll give you a heads up tho. The road up to the Tellico was washed out by the rain. And no telling when it’ll be fixed. They are ways around it. Also, they stopped stocking in July and won’t stock again until the first of October. So keep that in mind.
@@TheTroutGuy1 Oh dang. With all that in mind I might just go to Gatlinburg then since I always catch fish there. Either that or maybe the Clinch. Ive never been to the Clinch though and scared I will drive out there just to not catch nothing. Im in Knoxville and planning on going out first weekend in September. Thanks for the fly recommendations!
@concernedcitizen6572 nice, yea the clinch can be tricky! They’ve just stocked about 6000 rainbows at millers island. And they’ll be around for a few weeks. Where ever you go, goodluck!
Everywhere’s been a bit to hot! (Thus why I haven’t made anymore vids! Lol) I went out on the clinch this morning to test some flies and the water. It was okay. I caught about 5 but none of them had size. Park ranger said they’re due for a stocking this coming week. So it should be picking up soon. I’ve got some business to take care of this month. Got some really awesome plans for the channel coming up. When you’re out here shoot me a comment and I’ll see what I can do!
Got a question for you, planning on going up to Tellico this weekend. I know temps are high, is it worth fishing this time of year from the hatchery to the state line? Or am I better off going to the north river and trying for wild trout?
Both! Went out last week. We fished from the hatchery to the line and it was awesome fishing. Fish were definitely more active up that way. When we left we hit north river and caught a few also.
Thanks for the advice, caught 10 at Tellico. Didn’t have any luck at the North River, didn’t go past campsite number 2. Not sure if I needed to go farther up.

Nice! Glad you caught some.
I’ve only fished north river a hand full of times.
Usually the further up you go, the better the fishing.
The action of rod will miss lead on the size of fish.
Happens almost every trip
Bug spray bro
Yea, wouldn’t be a bad idea to keep some in the car
Best goes to worst when you broadcast location... F-
The Tellico river isn’t a secret bro, it’s all over the web. And other UA-cam channels.
Literally one of the most popular trout streams in the Southeast bro... it's not a secret at alll lol.
Thanks 😎
