Grew up for much of my 1970s youth spending a week+ in a Coleman pop up with Mom, Dad and 3 brothers. I love my memories of Tellico River in the Smokies, great stories and beautiful location! Thanks for the video!
Well done, informative video! Explored this area of the CNF a few seasons ago and it has become one of my favorite destinations in the southern Appalachians for it's relative remoteness, camping, backpacking and fly fishing.
How do I get an out of state permit to fish the Tellico river? My wife and I love camping in different states and would love to camp and fish here during the season. Very nice video and information about this are, thanks
@@austin27049 growing up my dad would take me and my brothers trout fishing at night and we would catch the largest trout that lived in those creeks and rivers plus it was very exciting and lots of fun
BETTER start stocking a whole lot better than what you've been doing . Because GATLINBURG is getting more people than u guys are. They stock a whole lot bigger trout in GATLINBURG .!!!!!!!
Nothing against you personally, Sir, but it's totally pathetic that people have to pay out for Fishing Equipment, Licenses, and whatever else, just so they can fish in an area, where it's only "Catch And Release", and are told, furthermore, that it's "Lures Only". I can't stand a "Governing Body", that would dare to clamp such an Iron Hand on PEOPLE like that! It's totally pathetic, and I couldn't ever fish there under those conditions. As I said: I'm not holding anything against you personally, vod course, but this? No thanks. Have you ever asked yourself:"Why am I helping to do this to people"? I thought that America was supposed to be for people to do what they WANT to do (As long as they're responsible)...but I guess I was wrong.
It seems like you need to go to a fish market to get your fish to eat. Most people enjoy catching them for the fun of it. Also C an R means someone else can enjoy the same resource.

Great informative video !!👍👍
Awesome info
Excellent video. Good job!
Very nice. I’m thinking it might be time to dust off the fly rods and take a road trip✌️
I'd like get more information about working up on the river. I live in Tellico and I think you guys have a booth at trout fest!
Reach out to the Region 3 office or the Hatchery. They would probably love a volunteer.

Hi Frank. Hunting and fishing licenses may be purchased at GoOutdoorsTennessee.com
How is the winter fishing
My thing is why does the TWRA only focus on Trout? I see failing fisheries in East Tennessee that desperately need attention.
Do you need a trout stamp for your Tennessee fishing license ?
yes
Can you fish the tellico River below the tellico citico permit Waters? At night
Why would you want to fish it at night?

@@austin27049 the biggest trout are the smartest predators and can be very hard to catch during the daytime but at night time it's a different story
