Hey your the trout guy. I got to ask what's your top 3 lures for floating the clinch summer time? You seem to be the guy to watch if you want to fish the clinch! I'm planning on floating the clinch trolling and casting from a canoe soon! YOU REALLY motivates me to go TROUT fishing. Great videos man! Keep it up.

I live 10 minutes from there and fish it regularly. If that water wasn’t stained you would have spooked and caught far less fish they are very spooky in there because people from all over come and fish it and they get very smart. It just upsets me when people drive from out of town and don’t properly handle the fish. Each fish gets caught and released a bunch in its life. Use barbless hooks, don’t use a nylon net but use a dang net and don’t handle them more than you have to. It is different than most trout water because they get hammered way more

Do you mind sharing what you were using to catch these? Maybe some example flies as well? Also I am guessing it was a bit of a drive since River Rd is still closed and you said in another comment you had the best success way out by Green Cove Motel?

Hope you tried the Pizza there... Anyway, I get visiting family on vacation. However, you were about an hour away from Hancock NY and West Branch of the Delaware which has over 20-inch wild Browns, Rainbows and Brookies! It's Trout heaven if you know what to do! I hope you get the opportunity next time you're visiting. Cabins are right in the water, and you won't regret the cabin fee for the experience! Do it! Wish you the best Buddy and looking forward to delayed harvest this fall at the Tellico!

The Connetquot River State Park is awesome. LI is truly a fly fishing Mecca with great beach access and lots of fish that come close to shore. Also some nice freshwater opportunities there too.

What were the water temperatures like those days? I would think the lower stretches of the Tellico ought to be avoided during July and August most years now. If you go trout fishing in the day, during the dog days of summer, on a bigger trout stream, and you start catching a lot of fish, it’s actually a pretty good indication that the fish are stressed as that isn’t typical feeding activity for summer.

Dude, what a great video!!! Man, they were killing it that day, eh? I snagged a big one over near Helen, GA the other day. 3 pounder that was a left over from Opening Day Tournament cause it had a tag on it. I was tempted to filet that dude but I let it go so some kid could catch it. Your vids are always great, Matt. Enjoy the heck out of them.

Went up there 2 weeks ago and had about 40 all between 12-15 inches and finished the day on my last cast caught a 25 inch rainbow
