Ray Shoesmith ‘takes care of people’ - collecting debts, relieving them of drugs and guns, and often taking care of them on a more permanent basis. Ray demands respect and does not tolerate others disregarding his very clear code of ethics. As Ray’s increasingly volatile work collides with his imploding personal life, he finds himself struggling to stay atop the complex web he has woven.

When I went to my 50th high school reunion I was left with a few observations. The people who were assholes in school are still the same assholes, only older. The nice people seem to have gotten nicer and more mellowed out.
50th ? Thats heavy. I do think those locked minds have the ability to change
How many of them were dead? Like 20%? 10%?
@@warrenb8228 Somewhere between 10% and 20%, but the Vietnam war accounted for quite a few of the men.
Truth
Your personality is formed by the age of six so your observation sure appears valid.
I would never go to one of those reunions. The past is the past, and that's where it should be left.
I skipped the first two, but went to my 30th high school reunion. It was surprisingly pleasant. And exhausting. How did I do that every day for years? 😂
Couldn't agree with this statement more.
Yea, I must agree there.
What's perhaps even worse is Facebook. 15 years ago I was on Facebook and then I thought "why am I friends with someone who I was only in Year 9 Home Room with and reading about what they ate for breakfast today?"
Then I realised that I was wasting my time, I jotted down a couple of phone numbers and then quit.
I went to my 20th reunion and I would have gone to my 50th high school reunion but Biden’s economy has almost crashed my business because nobody wants to spend money keeping their concrete clean (to prevent slip n fall from green mildew & black mold) And since the money needed for a flight to Western NY didn’t fall out of sky and into my lap I stayed home instead.
I haven’t picked up a drink of alcohol or liquor since I joined AA 07.09.08 (in 7 more days I’ll be celebrating 16 years)
These two laughing about the reunion on the drive afterwards had me in stitches
They'll remember you now 😀
@@daanjoubert5297 then their hysterical laugh afterwards hahaha

SAME MATE LOVE THE BIT
I love how quick "You chicken?" decided who the winner was. I have had a few too many conversations like that
Ray is such a laid back bloke until someone acts like a fool.
The only people who remember Ray are his friends, his family, and the guys who won't live long enough to answer any questions.
And we know Ray doesn't answer questions
I absolutely love the scene when he talks too his old teacher
He's so serious and the teacher is too old to remember
That scene hit too close to home. I've imagined that scene a million times before with a few of the pricks I was "taught" by.
I had a crush on a girl in 8th grade. Never had a class with her. Didn't see her for over 45 years. Unbeknownst to me, she was a customer of the bank where I worked. She walked into my office one day and I pretended not to know who she was, but was nervous as hell, just like 45 years ago. Why? The human brain is weird.
Because she was a stunner Richard.
In my early 30’s I bumped into two girls that I’d done about 4 years of high school with and primary school before that. . One of them was my major crush. They came in and sat right next to me at a bar. And I said hey how are you! Got blank stares, said my name. More blank stares. Told them we went to school together for about 7 years. Blank stares. Ffs
Maybe you got the wrong people?
lol you must've sounded so desperate 😂😂😂
Hahaha some people can be like that bro
@@Relax-ge2uf yep. I was actually just being friendly. I’d grown about a foot and and been hitting the gym since they last saw me and I was actually dating an exotic dancer by the name of Sabrina at the time so you know, I was doing fine lol. Still kind of annoyed me tbh, guess they were too busy doing dressage lessons at pony club in school and dating the jocks to deign to notice my existence lol
Went to my 10th. Wife and I were separating the next day. Girl who was my friend all through school, came up and told me she always had a crush on me. I was to shy and dense in school. She looked amazing. Never tried, because I was trying to save marriage. Stupid fool.
Gary was brilliantly played throughout the series
Big nose woman, plate of dimmies, an antique machine gun and Ray's a happy man!
Never been to a school reunion, never will!
I went to two, which was at least one too many.
I never miss. Love seeing those folks. Have stayed in touch with most of them for 44 years.
Yes you have. facebook/insta/twitter still count as high school reunions. Prove me wrong.
I’m so pissed this show is ending its so good
It ended way before this comment.
Hard to find great stuff you can sink your teeth into. Guess that's why they call them treasures!
My buddy and I used to case out a big hotel in Costa Mesa Calif in Orange county. we would look for class reunions and go in and get free food, walk around and smile at everyone. great fun.
It never underperformed and had a logical ending so no complaints from me. Most good shows drag on too long. Game of Fuc#en Thrones being a classic example.
From hitman to wingman.
Wild horses could not drag me to a school reunion...
We had a 20th school reunion. All the pretty girls had become ugly and fat, all the plain Janes had become stunners. All the bullys and Nutjobs had become council house losers. My crush turned up, I congratulated her on her pregnancy and patted her bump. Was told later she wasn't pregnant, just a frequent customer of Greggs.
That's how it works out
😂 I've never been to Greggs, but I imagine it's a fast food eatery.
🤣🤣
We met the same girl then
I would never, ever put myself in this situation,Ray’s predicament was what I would expect at these shindigs.
Exactly why I don't like conversations at reunions, but they're great for people watching. Grab a drink and a chair, find an out-of-the-way spot, and remember all these people you used to know.
I was reserved and awkward back then and I expect it would've been excruciatingly the same decades later. So, every 5 years I considered going and ended up saying "Naahh, thanks but no thanks" every time. Perhaps my loss.
Maybe for my 55th! LOL
“I like a big nose. Adds character.”
"Fair enough"
I have to admit going to a class reunion would prompt me to want to punch a few of my school bullies. You know, fair is fair, for old times sake. It's about giving back. LOL!
I wouldn't do it at the re-union, I would wait outside at their car, just like they used to wait for me when l was walking home and had nobody to ask for help.
You guys gotta let it go
Easier said than done beb. I wonder if they remember doing it as much as those remember receiving it.
@@markdupree6986 it would be a good opportunity to remind them. LOL!
LOL. Problem is you never punched them at the time and in the moment. Carry that with you forever...........as judged by your comment.
"I like a big nose, adds character." aye, brother
I like tig ol bits for the same reason
The reason Ray was such a good hit man was because no one could remember him "what did the man with the gun look like?"..... "I have no idea"
This why I don’t go to high school reunions, why would I want to go back to see the same assholes I was desperately trying to get away from. The people who enjoyed high school, peaked there and want to go back to recapture that feeling of nostalgia.
Good point
This triggers so many weird feelings. I hated high school. My twin was the popular one. I wasn't liked by most. I moved far off 8 days after graduation and returned only for a couple of 2 day visits to the parents. While in the grocery store, the checkout girl happened to be one of the most popular girls in class. We had known each other since kindergarten. Our high school graduation class was only 36 people so everybody knew everybody. I was 24 yo at the time so 6 years had passed. I had a few items to checkout so even after a couple of minutes she had not recognized me. The invisibility i possessed in high school was still present, but now i liked it. No class reunions were going to be in my future.
Amen. Similar story but no twin, just two to three years younger than everyone. Abusive, neglectful "home". Got OUT Fast. (Graduated at 16 with college credits.) Never went back, 58 years later, still won't.
Being from Scotland, I just love the way some Australian folk talk. This is just awesome…..
Blimey mate,Aussie isn’t exactly exotic..😂
Bro in all honesty I’ve met fellow Australians that speak so much slang that every words was slang of some sort, basically becoming it’s own language, but I only found that with one Australian who was one of the managers at a mango picking farm (I hated it there and quit after the first day as they were already threatening to fire me :/ ), but boy was that an experience you can never forget lmao
@markhepworth I grew up in Hull and my accent has helped me out a few times in recent years. Thanks Game of Thrones😂.
I'm from Sydney and not many people talk like they do in this show. I feel like the accents are a bit exaggerated.
@@dorsia6938YOU FROM POSH BIT ?
Best thing about school reunions is no one really remembers anyone, I hooked up with a old classmate 20 years later, and I can’t remember her at all, and she thought I was some other fulla, fun times haha
Understated genius at every turn in this series
the good ol chicken line gets you every time.
Great Episode!!😆 I laughed about this one for days after. Sooo great!! "Theyll Remember Ya now wont they!?"😂
It's like 2am and I'm sissing myself laughing at how essentially Aussie this scene is. Might have to watch this show, eh?
do it, it's phenomenal
What the f*ck is "sissing" yourself ?
You won’t regret it 👍
Steffi Graf!! I hear you, Ray.
Never been to one of these. I can’t think of a single thing I’d have to say to anyone I remember.
I remember high schools reunions! It almost exactly like this scene every reunion you go to!😂
5 primary schools, 2 high schools...no reunions.
2:06 Steffi Graf turns on the TV in her hotel room. Sees Australian crime show on. Gives it a go. "What the hell!"
What is Staff Graf ?

He might be a complete psychopath, but he genuinely likes this ONE mate.
He ain't even a psychopath he looked after his dying brother and raised a kid after getting divorced
I know how ray feels that's why I don't go to my class reunions😎👍
Agreed for all money in world who hell what's to see the people they went to school with bunch of wackers 🙃
I would like to meet my old friends but a class reunion means also meeting those I dont like so yeah, I rather not go.
@@mannylugz5872 Better You than Me
@@mannylugz5872 Yes, the only thing is you did not like them back then. The growing up phase is tough on all, even those you disliked.
@@JohnSmith-hr3gv Some old wounds are better left as healed scars. If they changed, well that is good. If not, then its better they are miles away from me and we never talk to each other again. I dont intend to gamble and find out.
‘Steffi Graf’ perfect line (we all had a crush on her) 🥰
Never had a desire to go to any “reunion” High School or family.
How good are these two!...acting 101
As an Aussie, I really need to watch this show!
Best show ever
You Aussie's seem much more sane than Americans lol

I am Egyptian and i watched it .... Come on
You ever had dimmis? Apparently you're not Australian if you haven't.
Tell ya what. They'll fkn remember you now.🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Undoubtedly my favorite series ever and its Australian! Truly wish it was longer than three series and that old school hard copies could be bought from retail outlets ... Ive looked!
Don't miss this classic!
Our 20 year school reunion was back in 2009. I got back from London and never did FB or any of that rubbish and never kept in touch with anyone from school. I then went on FB to chat to a friend who was in Paris and the minute I did I was inundated with school reunion invites. Did I go? Did I f**k!
Liquid courage.
Bloody love this series. The only issue I have is that it only went for 3 seasons.
You don't remember Ray? 'NNNNNOOOO"
Actor that plays Ray looks like William Dafoe and his acting is on the same level!
I guess we were unified in that we were collectively forced to attend. Who would ever want to celebrate it lol
2:06 Ladies, take notes. This is how mature men talk about what they like about a woman with their friends.
I love the Aussies.
Quero a temporada 4 na minha mesa até o fim do expediente!!
When the guy sculls his drink at the end, the hand he's holding the glass with changes between camera angles.
I remember my 20 year high school reunion. At least I remember getting the invite and going shooting with two other mates from school on the weekend it was on because I really couldn’t be fucked reminding people that the reason we hadn't seen each other for 20 years was that we never really like each other.
This is how I feel like my 20 years reunion
Went to ten year reunoin.Lots of successful people.I was driving a used car older than the beater I drove in HS.Sold some blow, left without any phone numbers.
I hated every minute of school.
This is me at every social event ever
I've just started watching this.
You left out the best part of this scene.
Do tell...
The chat with the teacher?
"You chicken?" is the imperial part of all things good.
or bad.
It’s so funny and rare, that this happens in real life as people tend to look, generally the same throughout their lives, unless they’ve gone through some significant body transformation
"You chicken" is all you need to push em
To all who like this, we have our own "John Wick" Oz style, no crap
What is even the point of a school reunion? Do people care that much?
Move into 92, still in a room without a view.
Liquid Courage
yup!
Grosse Point Blank has the best high school reunion ever. Hands down
Fair enough
wish they"d put all the good ones on one network.
Ackward moment lol... and I have been in situations like this.. I just go to the shadows and enjoy my beverage :D.. I went once... never again
I didn’t go to any reunions but about six years after grad I got out of military and went to live with parents for a year before starting school. In town one day and ran into my 2nd grade teacher and she started flirting with me big time. Attractive lady too, but it felt so weird I didn’t go with the flow. It struck me also cuz she maintained her looks and body but many of the hot girls of my high school class had already gotten on the cow train just six years later. Couldn’t believe it!
So pissed they killed this show,,,,,Ray is a phucking blast
Watch the magician. It's like the sequel to this.
And that's why I don't go to reunions
"Chicken"
They cut out the best part...the fight kicking a bully's behind.
That's my boi
For about 2 years - you were too stuck up for me lol
Steffi Graf was gorgeous.
I barely remember my school days simply because it was not important.
I liked and didnt like mine. Went to the 20 and went to a function from our old school. Was bittersweet
High school reunions are pointless
Release the DVDs......😮
Loved this show….and while Ray is not conventionally attractive, his character grew on me to where I ended up finding him very attractive!
Martina Hingis.. first crush.
Billie Jean King...first crush, first reality check.
Hingis..... she was a hottie!!
Montel Jordon crossed the ocean
I have become very cold to people I used to be so close with..they only liked me when I was popular and could boost there status. I got in a bike wreck and they never came and they walk away from me now .they have no clue about life and what really matters..I love everyone who treats m with respect..they dnt have to like me but dnt roll your eyes when I say hello.. bastards
Dont even be cold to them as it means you think about it and it hurts,..Just forget they ever existed is the best way and carry on being with people that you get on with now,...Good luck to you !!
@@westboundbadger thanks so much ❤️
I don’t remember anyone from school. 😂
I like a big nose, adds character 😂
If you get on well with people, you don't lose touch with them after leaving school. Reunions are just a way to go back and see all the people you didn't like
Great show. Miss the writing, directing, editing...all of it.
Cam I get a bourbon? I would like a bourbon- Jesus
I had a crush on Steffi Graff too, lol.
I am Ray.
Wat a great peice of work. Any1 know where i can get the full movie?
it's a TV series, lasted for three seasons. produced by FX, maybe you can get it from their streaming service. otherwise try pirate bay
Ray who? 😂
I never went to any reunions. I didn't like you then; can't imagine that changing.
I miss having a best friend, they know what to say to get you going.
2:00 Steffi Graf wasn’t my first crush but I totally think she was handsome and I agree with Mr. Inbetween about woman with a “big” nose, it truly gives them a very interesting character. I definitely have a big crush on woman with the slender or slightly fuller classic long and prominent nose combined with high cheekbones giving that beautiful strong profile look. It’s a look certain Jewish, Greek, Iranian but also German and Dutch, English woman can have and I get a very classical vibe from those type of characteristic faces.
Yeah she had a schnoz and it did put me off a bit BUT what athletic body she had…i could watch her bent over butt waiting to return serve all day.
No one recognizesd me and someone called the police. Had to show my driver's license to prove I was me, lol. It was all bullys and jocks and girls who I never knew. Nobody from the chess club, lol.
