She walked into my office one day and I pretended not to know who she was, but was nervous as hell, just like 45 years ago. Why? The human brain is weird.
I skipped the first two, but went to my 30th high school reunion. It was surprisingly pleasant. And exhausting. How did I do that every day for years? 😂
What's perhaps even worse is Facebook. 15 years ago I was on Facebook and then I thought "why am I friends with someone who I was only in Year 9 Home Room with and reading about what they ate for breakfast today?" Then I realised that I was wasting my time, I jotted down a couple of phone numbers and then quit.
I went to my 20th reunion and I would have gone to my 50th high school reunion but Biden’s economy has almost crashed my business because nobody wants to spend money keeping their concrete clean (to prevent slip n fall from green mildew & black mold) And since the money needed for a flight to Western NY didn’t fall out of sky and into my lap I stayed home instead. I haven’t picked up a drink of alcohol or liquor since I joined AA 07.09.08 (in 7 more days I’ll be celebrating 16 years)

patchet is still a very fine smg. I always thought that the side mounted magazine was dumb, cause it makes the gun not conceslable on your person or in an attache case ,but they function just FINE. You need the buttstock, and shoulder it if the range is more than say, 5m, or 5 FEET if they are using cover. Donnt expect miracles of stopping-effect, from any 9mm smg cause you'l be badly-disappointed.
Exactly why I don't like conversations at reunions, but they're great for people watching. Grab a drink and a chair, find an out-of-the-way spot, and remember all these people you used to know.
I was reserved and awkward back then and I expect it would've been excruciatingly the same decades later. So, every 5 years I considered going and ended up saying "Naahh, thanks but no thanks" every time. Perhaps my loss. Maybe for my 55th! LOL

My buddy and I used to case out a big hotel in Costa Mesa Calif in Orange county. we would look for class reunions and go in and get free food, walk around and smile at everyone. great fun.
It never underperformed and had a logical ending so no complaints from me. Most good shows drag on too long. Game of Fuc#en Thrones being a classic example.
Bro in all honesty I’ve met fellow Australians that speak so much slang that every words was slang of some sort, basically becoming it’s own language, but I only found that with one Australian who was one of the managers at a mango picking farm (I hated it there and quit after the first day as they were already threatening to fire me :/ ), but boy was that an experience you can never forget lmao
I was the short pudgy kid in high school. A late grower. By the time I was 18yo I was 6' 2 1/2" tall, 90kg and fighting fit. Often when out at a pub I'd feel eyes on me to find some bloke who gave me a hard time at school staring at me with fear in his eyes. I'd stiffen my shoulders and glare at them with obvious intent. [It's actually more effective to scare sh!t out of a bully than to belt them. It's also way more fun and satisfying] They quickly disappeared. A couple of my high school protagonists would sneak up behind me and ask if they could buy me a drink. I looked them up and down with a steely glare before saying "A double Wild Turkey with coke". They knew what they did. Someone must have taught them a lesson in respect between high school and then 😁
This triggers so many weird feelings. I hated high school. My twin was the popular one. I wasn't liked by most. I moved far off 8 days after graduation and returned only for a couple of 2 day visits to the parents. While in the grocery store, the checkout girl happened to be one of the most popular girls in class. We had known each other since kindergarten.Our high school graduation class was only 36 people so everybody knew everybody. I was 24 yo at the time so 6 years had passed. I had a few items to checkout so even after a couple of minutes she had not recognized me. The invisibility i possessed in high school was still present, but now i liked it. No class reunions were going to be in my future.
Amen. Similar story but no twin, just two to three years younger than everyone. Abusive, neglectful "home". Got OUT Fast. (Graduated at 16 with college credits.) Never went back, 58 years later, still won't.

To be honest, who seriously remembers anyone from high school? It’s a few years of absolute torture, so once I was out of HS I made sure I never thought about that life again. I didn’t go to any reunions but about six years after grad I got out of military and went to live with parents for a year before starting school. In town one day and ran into my 2nd grade teacher and she started flirting with me big time. Attractive lady too, but it felt so weird I didn’t go with the flow. It struck me also cuz she maintained her looks and body but many of the hot girls of my high school class had already gotten on the cow train just six years later. Couldn’t believe it!
I'd say: "Alright, you cannot remember meeting me and that's okay". Then I'd proceed inquiring, if I'd favour to. And I would come to such reunions only if I'd wish to, since there are no people in my school that I'd await to meet. Most of them were uneducated drunkards and party-heads. Nothing that evokes a deep interest and an urge to hug or smile. All the people I need - there're here, I can call them anytime, they can ask me for anything anytime, we meet daily and have profound conversations, beside supporting each other in shitty times. So, you won't see me at my school reunion. Guess who won't be sad about it
