I used to make our diy meals. Sourcing and rotations became difficult. I do buy premade raw for 2 large breeds so that I can feed duck, goat, lamb, etc. I do customize their meals with rotations of sprouts veggie grinds I make, etc. We love wheatgrass. I juice it daily. Love from Florida!
I completely understand. I also have premade raw in our freezer for rotation and for times when I don't have time/all the ingredients to make DIYs 😁 I think what you're doing with rotating the plant matter and meat is great!! 🤗🩷
I found your channel and am making the transition to feeding my senior dogs homemade. I also have a cat and wondered if you had any recipes for cats? Love your videos and thank you for sharing.
How exciting with the transition! Your dogs are gonna love it! Unfortunately I don't have recipes for cats. They're true carnivores so you want to include predominantly meat/fish/offal/organ meat. In saying that they still benefit from plant matters (veggies, fruits). They have specific need for taurine because their body cannot make it (unlike dogs), so it's important that it's supplied in their diet 🤗🩷
Hello, Are these recipes safe for dogs with Pancreatitis? I would introduce each of these ingredients slowly. Right now he is on a ground turkey, carrot, and sweet potato diet. Thank you
Is your dog fed raw or cooked meal? Opt for low fat diet (which you probably have done 😊), oily fish and other healthy fat sources, which all the ingredients in this recipe are. With the chicken, I would go with chicken breast, remove the skin. Hope these answer your question 🩷😊🐶
@@tigerlily455 no probs! Oily fish/omega-3 would help with the skin issues (provided that your dog is not allergic to fish). It's good to find out what triggers the skin allergies ie. whether it's certain food or seasonal/environment 🙂
I’ve started using animal diet formulator to balance our meals. Do all of your meals look completely balanced? Even following recipes create my nutritionists I’m finding they are “missing” items 😩it’s stressing me out
It's great that you started using ADF, but please don't let that stress you out. Let's just see it this way, even us humans (inc. kids), we don't eat completely balanced meal in every meal, and we're fine ☺ There are also nutrients that can be balanced over time (eg. 5-7 days). The software is an amazing tool which provides a starting guide/reference when formulating a dog's meal, but keep in mind, each dog has different nutritional needs. Sometimes, on paper the food hits all the tick boxes but it may not agree with your dog. If you're worried, there are tests you can do to check if your dog gets all the necessary nutrients which can then help you adjust and refine their diet.
