I always give my pup some of the lightly steamed veggies I'm cooking for myself for dinner. She loves asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, sweet potato, spinach and tomato. Giving her real food is why I believe my pup has never had an ear infection, no allergies or skin issues. Everyone raves about how shiny and thick her coat is. I decided early on I wanted her to live as long as possible. I spend so much time every day caring for her, why wouldn't I feed her with the same care and love I give the rest of my family.
I feed chicken quaters and 10% organ meat every meal to my yellow labrador and his coat and energy has been better than ever. It's cheaper and convientent other than freezing it for a couple days before feeding. I never feed my dog veggies, he doesn't like them, but I do give him like a tablespoon amount of a banana every now and then. I find it better to feed full quarters and not ground up meat because they can rub off the tartar on their teeth by chewing on the flesh and bone.
I began feeding my Sarplaninac raw food 6 months ago, at the beginning he didn't like vegetables and fruit. After a while though he began to enjoy apple, bananas and carrots. I give him only a teaspoon of liver a day. It's been very good for his health but it's quite expensive. I wouldn't be able to feed quality raw meat to 3/4 dogs.
My dogs (mostly German shepherds) and all wolves used to be fed on raw meat for years. Besides for wolves it didn't need to be fresh. In the wild they were fond of a few kind of berries and lots of grasshoppers, mice ... They were all well and happy all their life long. Interesting video, indeed ...thanks.
Pavle Balenovic did you feed your GSD raw from a puppy? The reason I ask is bc we have a 12 week old GSD and I’m looking into a raw diet for her but I’m not sure if she’s too young to start.

Also people should remember not to feed their pets cooked bones, that is not good for them but raw is ofc. Love the video! thaaaanks Anneka been waiting for this video for ages ;-) I've been feeding my dog raw for about 8 months now he loves it and hasn't been sick from it at all.
I fed my Jack Russell chicken necks for many years, and he lived to 20 and his wife lived to 16 years. Necks have less fat than wings, but wings are ok in moderation. They also got bananas and tomatoes.
We switched our border collie pup to raw diet after she had a terrible allergy and she had to take pills. She also eats Nature's Menu :) frozen nuggets and has boney meat, poultry heart etc as treat. Now she's 21 months old and healthy, beautiful, we love her so much
Mine won’t eat Nature’s menu either - in fact none of the pre-packaged raw foods - mine have chicken wings, breast of lamb, beef ribs, chicken gizzards, turkey mince and chicken or duck eggs
Really appreciate the time you put into the video and especially the fact that you didn't edit out the egg Fiasco. The fact that those eggs were so hard to crack tells me that those are probably organic raised chickens.
thank you Anneka! I like to use the BARF diet for my dogs, as they are all mastiffs but sadly mastiffs don't usually live very long, but this diet had my boyfriend's Neopolitan mastiff Bella live for almost 12 years.
wow thats great! a lot of mastiffs die of bloat so feeding this and also raising the bowels and getting them to eat slowly, with slow eating bowls would also help
my dog Zak is the barf diet for almost for 2 years now , and doing really well, he loves crunching the bones. he is really healthy and happy. he loves eggs too. great video! xxxxx

I've always been on the fence of feeding raw but this video anf others is helping me feed my dogs more raw. Mainly with treats and toppers. Thank you for making this video 😊
My young arctic mix used to sleep until 2-3pm on summer days. We're now on a 50/50 BARF and kibble diet and he's perky and happy at 9pm (I know, he's still a late riser) even on hot days with the AC off! 5 extra hours of happy activity per day is incredible! Happily doubling his waking hours makes me so happy for his heightened quality of life! (I have to note that I'm immunocompromised so there's a ton of hygienic concerns -- but they're absolutely worth it!)
amazing video Anneka. I used to feed my dogs the same, but my Saluki loves Chicken wings more :) Thank you and wish you a great weekend :) Cheers from Switzerland
Thank you Anneka, that was very informative. I'm just starting BARF with my 4 Labradors and much of the advice out there is confusing. Too many percentages. On one site I had people going off about how my dinners were unbalanced, but wouldn't elaborate further. They just kept throwing percentages at me and sending me to the page's guidelines. Your video was very straightforward and very informative. So, thanks again, I will definitely be following you from now on... Keep up the great work.
You need more than just meat. You need around 80% muscle meat, 5% liver, 5% other secreting organ, and 10% bone. It's not too complicated but they can end uo with a deficiency if they don't get a "balanced" diet.
I love your laughs, too cute and pretty. My mom and dad feed it all raw and freshly kill. Loves the internal organs, especially the green tripe. My favorite are goat, lamb, salmon, beef, and occassionally venison. Thanks for your show.
a good trick for that is using chicken leg quarters since they are naturally balanced for most dogs just make sure you're getting the cheapest stuff you can since then it comes from the biggest factory farm around and the last thing they want is salmonella going through there so they inoculate them in the egg so there's pretty much a 0% chance of your dog getting salmonella however make sure it's full leg quarters do not use legs and thighs they are different
I feed my husky raw and it’s been the best choice for her. She gets a pound a day and it’s usually a raw egg with a chicken quarter. Other times I Mix it up with a variety of lamb turkey or duck with chicken livers and sardines. She loves it. Also Stella and cheweys is a great brand sold in pet store that makes burger patties with the exact right balance of nutrition. I give a burger for 2 or three meals per week.
Thank you Anneka :0) I just subscribed to your channel Love wolves and you seem to really know them and their Wild needs.I have a friend that has 2 wolfdogs. One was a mix of a Russian wolf all black and huge but had more dog in him but looked very much like a wolf and friendly. The Other had more wolf in her,I could tell by the way she cautiously moved around the room and I Never got to let her but also a very beautiful wolfdog lighter with reddish brown and white coloring. Misha(male)& Kiska. I remember we went over to their house once and Misha jumped up in back of my husband and tested his paws on his shoulders and I swear he was like at least 6.5 feet tall standing on hind legs, huge but so beautiful,he just stood for a minute and rubbed his chin on my husband's head to leave his scent like ok next time I know you come I'll know you.I have always loved and respected all animals but especially wolves,I think I'm part because they are always misunderstood.
I've been In raw for good 6 years, my 15 yo loves it she became so much happier with real food than with the kibbles. And so much healthier also, it's amazing when I take her to routine exames and hearing complements about her teeth and her willing to play. I mean she cannot see well or hear well but it's impressive to see what she can do, she can play like a puppy. Real raw food is just the best.
I am frowned upon for feeding my dogs meat and chicken bones.....yet...Rottie 14 years....no health problems......Shepherd 14 years....no health problems....all my other dogs lasted into their mid teens......all rescued....now my dogo eats the same diet and she has overcome other illnesses quick......also had 2 dogs with leishmaniasis.....both lived until they were old.....packet dog food is shit....same as us eating msg......I'm really liking your videos
frowned upon, i would say thats a little dramatic, its okay your dogs will live longer than any of theres and though thats awful they will see that its the best thing you could do for them.
Thank you for this wonderful and informative video Anneka! I've been wanting to put my German shepherd on the B.A.R.F diet for a while now.. The only issue is how expensive it is where I live 🤔 But anyway, keep up the good work!! ❤
I dont have a dog but want i want one in The futur and thats the only inconvenience i find with raw dieting. I mean meat is already expensive for us to consume....
same here - meat in Norway is EXTREMELY expensive.. 17 - 56 dollars for a kg. depends on the quality .. But i have found chicken drums for 3 dollars kg, Liver for the same and then i buy pig neck steak for 6 per kg. Then i can add what ever i find of half prize meat on top. The funny thing is that prepared raw dog mince is A LOT cheaper. :/ so i have used to give that as well. Blueberries and eggs + vegt. on top. Works very well for my dogs :)
100% believe in this diet. I’ve been feeding my cocker spaniel a raw meat diet with “some” processed meat for his entire life.. he’s now 14 and still kicking hard.
Hello! It would be cool to do a video on the range of prices. Like how much that bol you did could cost per day or how much were those lamb treats. I feel that all this is quite expensive. Its not easy for the little folks but we still want the best for our pets
This is great! I've been feeding my dog with raw meat and he absolutely loves it! It looks that they know what is good for them hahaha. Thank you for the tips :)
My dog ate rat poison once so id disagree. Did it at 11 at night so all vets were closed, found a 24hr one but was to far of a drive so the vet over the phone instructed us how to fix it. Was a rough night.
She wouldnt eat lettuce but ate rat poison so i dont think they k kw whats what tbh. My mum in summer every monday makes a huge salad and that'd go with dinner for 2-3 nights and if there was any left we gave it to the dog, she'd pick through all the shredded lettuce for the pieces of carrot, tomato etc.
A WOLF 19 YEARS OLD???? :-O 1 year older than my Black who sadly passed away in January 2005, wow!! It's great to know there's still some canine alive of that age!!
Anneka this is a nice explanation of what you believe to be a good diet for your pet, I love the fact that you didn't edit out the egg thing, made me smile, I cant do it either... simple and easy, both my 3yr old Pit and my 8yr old Boston love this as much as they love each other... "R" (good dogs) "bon appetit"
I just put a blender on the egg, the shell is done as well with almost no effort, also the chicken on the bone is good, but most of the dog minces do already have bone ground in as well, just check the ingredients, I credit that diet for curing a heart problem with one of my boxers, we were told she had only a few months left, I took the gamble and she had 2 healthy years on that diet, maybe it was just a fluke, but luck does seem common with people taking the jump to raw!
just started feeding my two german sheps natures menu food, the ready mixed with veg type and raw chicken wings, they love it, good tip about the eggs , Thanks.
One thing you have to remember, any fruit/veg NEEDS to be prepped a specific way for a dog to get any use out of it at all.. if you give straight raw veggies or fruit, it'll just act like a filler & pass right through the dog.. should at least steam them or, what I like to do is partially boil them along with a little apple cider vinegar. That way it REALLY mimics pre/partially digested material and the dog actually gets the nutrients... OR, You could completely skip all fruits and veggies and simply feed tripe ! I only make my mixture if I can't get real tripe
Loved this video Anneka. My dogs love raw food and I can vouch on everything you said as my dogs are so healthy and I have never taken them to the vet for 3 years now. I have fed them raw food since they were pups so they are pretty much use to chewing the food without me having to blend the vegetables. They even chew the egg shells without me crushing it. They love green leaves too, have you tried "Kankun" ? it's a very healthy leaf, my dogs just love chewing them at anytime I make it for ourselves. Duke my Husky mix loves natural food he eats kibbles only as a last resort lol. My american Lab had never eaten raw food until I adopted her, she just copies my husky mix Duke in everything he does and now she is a very healthy and happy dog :) try murunga leaves too, it's a super food both good for humans and dogs.
Blue is the same as Purina or any other big brand. They got sued and lost because they were telling lies about their content of their products. They left ingredients off of the label that are in there. One serving has more carbs than a wolf would likely consume in their entire life. There has never been a single documented wolf with diabetes but millions of dogs in the US suffer diabetes from this diet.

Kumi is absolutely beautiful. Thx for this video & helpful content. I’m a new raw feeder & my Sammy has been eating raw 2 mos now. I also follow the BARF diet since he naturally craves & loves veggies. Sometimes he prefers that over raw meat. I chose to get him a premade raw food from reputable suppliers which contains meat, organs, sinew & bones. I consider this the ultimate easiest way but just more expensive.
@kelly heubel No problems but if you feel like your dog is kind of lethargic try a multi vitamin. I just use duck, chicken and beef. I only feed pork when it's been frozen for at least 3 days because I've seen what pig farms look like.
I’ve got a Rottie and a GSD that started raw about 4 months ago. Kept getting different elevated enzyme returns on annual blood checks on 4 different supposedly healthy kibbles, and my Rottie was getting chunky without any treats added to her daily food intake. Vet tried to discourage raw but we ran blood 2 months in and no bad blood markers, and better yet the Rottie slimmed right back down with way higher energy levels. Going back for another blood check this week and I’m expecting nothing different.
I feed my latest GSD Amber a mix of raw, cooked & high quality commercial kibble. I usually get problem free 14 to 16 years from my GSDs. She gets a lot of fish on her diet, chicken liver & gizards, minced meats, turkey. lamb, beef, but this one will NOT eat a carrot- cooked or not! Peas, yes. Any preparation of cooked potatoes, yes. Carrots, NO. Go figure! As always: Love you, Anneka!

Much Love and respect to anyone with the common sense
to practice raw feeding ...
I love the way she say “Vit a Mens”
So cute lol
I was watching this with my dogs and my 10 month old lurcher mix tried to eat the food from the tv screen 😃
Your dog is so calm and well-behaved. Wonderful.
I absolutely love your videos and I love how you are in favor of the BARF diet I use this diet too and I hope one day everyone will do this!! Thank you for posting this!!!
you are welcome
I love the way brits say vitamins! LOVE it! LOL
You mean how the British correctly say it😂
@@lwcaninebehaviourtraining6735 I agree
I always give my pup some of the lightly steamed veggies I'm cooking for myself for dinner. She loves asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, sweet potato, spinach and tomato. Giving her real food is why I believe my pup has never had an ear infection, no allergies or skin issues. Everyone raves about how shiny and thick her coat is. I decided early on I wanted her to live as long as possible. I spend so much time every day caring for her, why wouldn't I feed her with the same care and love I give the rest of my family.
I love this lady. True animal lover
Thankyou 😍
I feed chicken quaters and 10% organ meat every meal to my yellow labrador and his coat and energy has been better than ever. It's cheaper and convientent other than freezing it for a couple days before feeding. I never feed my dog veggies, he doesn't like them, but I do give him like a tablespoon amount of a banana every now and then. I find it better to feed full quarters and not ground up meat because they can rub off the tartar on their teeth by chewing on the flesh and bone.
Hi what ko d of raw meats
I began feeding my Sarplaninac raw food 6 months ago, at the beginning he didn't like vegetables and fruit. After a while though he began to enjoy apple, bananas and carrots. I give him only a teaspoon of liver a day. It's been very good for his health but it's quite expensive. I wouldn't be able to feed quality raw meat to 3/4 dogs.
Do you peel the skin off? I peel the skin off most of my dogs chicken because of the fear of pancreatitis due to excess fat.
Occasionally ill put it on a broiler pan in the oven as a treat.
@@CVas-ic7vd not a problem to feed your dogs natural fat. they actually need it too.
Omg!!!...by far the best video on raw feed! For the dog breed. Best best please do more videos on raw feed.
Nice video. I'm switching both of my German sheperds immediately. Thank you.
HER VOICE ALONE IS ENOUGH TO BELIEVE!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I have a GSD
Hiehat kind of raw meats
@@callsign.Noctra You should look for a local supplier of BARF animal food. If there is one, they usually have all the info and the food to provide a balanced diet for your dog. I have a GSD and she's been eating raw food all her life and she's happy and healthy.
That's true yes but the dogs stomach is alot different to a wolves a dogs stomach has evolved because of us humans yes can have raw food etc but don't be fooled there like a wolves like our stomach is not the same as it was
Your dog is one of the most amazing looking dogs I have ever seen. 😍
Kumi's food is more expensive than my salary!!! Life's unfair! Anyway I subscribed.
Totally agree with you on this I also do this with my cavalier and have shown pedigree cats for many years and also used a similar diet with them, it makes the world of difference, luv your channel x
Also people should remember not to feed their pets cooked bones, that is not good for them but raw is ofc. Love the video! I’m halfway but at the same time am wondering if you know a serving size depending on the size of dog etc. I don’t have a dog but someday will get one. I did have one though.
Edit: Realised this comment wasn’t necessary due to around 15:40-15:60 lmao.
thaaaanks Anneka been waiting for this video for ages ;-) I've been feeding my dog raw for about 8 months now he loves it and hasn't been sick from it at all.
momozen29 hi I'm wanting to go raw for my husky. How are you making sure its balance. I'm nervous trying it.
It always adds flavor to include the bloopers
A good diet goes a long way to help them to have a long life, Anneka does a great job showing us how to make the dog's food.
I fed my Jack Russell chicken necks for many years, and he lived to 20 and his wife lived to 16 years. Necks have less fat than wings, but wings are ok in moderation. They also got bananas and tomatoes.
thats AMAZING! from where did you get your chicken? does it matter or can u get it from a grocery store. I dont think you can but thoughts?
@@jussanesanchez9652 try a local chinese market. They've got a lot of cheap meats and plenty of not well known cuts.
Amazing, im about to feed my shih tzu with raw, do you froze the food beforehand?
My Mal who used to be a heavy shedder hardly sheds now and looks good. She even smells good too! This is a good video!!
15:35 priceless moments of snorting🤣
We switched our border collie pup to raw diet after she had a terrible allergy and she had to take pills.
She also eats Nature's Menu :) frozen nuggets and has boney meat, poultry heart etc as treat. Now she's 21 months old and healthy, beautiful, we love her so much
I appreciate you so much for making this video! Raw is the way to go!
My tamaskan/low content wolfdog loves a raw diet! So much better for him. Thanks for making these videos!
I’m a raw feeder but my dogs CAN NOT STAND natures menu from pets at home but I love how they portion it out, I feed natural instinct
What wrong with nature's menu?
Mine won’t eat Nature’s menu either - in fact none of the pre-packaged raw foods - mine have chicken wings, breast of lamb, beef ribs, chicken gizzards, turkey mince and chicken or duck eggs
Really appreciate the time you put into the video and especially the fact that you didn't edit out the egg Fiasco. The fact that those eggs were so hard to crack tells me that those are probably organic raised chickens.
wow now anna became animals chef that's great! 😁
Excellent video sorry this video has 400+ dislikes from the commercial pet food and vets!!! Keep up the good work lady.
I bought my German Shepherd some chicken backs; liver; and feet. He loved them! LOL
Our GSD puppy absolutely loves Chicken Feet. Our adult Chihuahua thinks they are totally gross.....lol
You're the absolute best when it comes to a dogs happiness
thank you Anneka! I like to use the BARF diet for my dogs, as they are all mastiffs but sadly mastiffs don't usually live very long, but this diet had my boyfriend's Neopolitan mastiff Bella live for almost 12 years.
wow thats great! a lot of mastiffs die of bloat so feeding this and also raising the bowels and getting them to eat slowly, with slow eating bowls would also help
my dog Zak is the barf diet for almost for 2 years now , and doing really well, he loves crunching the bones. he is really healthy and happy. he loves eggs too. great video! xxxxx
thats great
This video is very helpful anneka! I started barf diet for my two toys, a maltese and a toy poodle almost a year ago and the results were Amazing!
that great - showing how small dogs can benefit also
Love your videos I have just got a new family member a 4month old dogo argentino she is called Tia I have her on this diet there breeder recommended it to me I am new to this diet and you explained everything perfect thank you best from Ireland ❤️
I've always been on the fence of feeding raw but this video anf others is helping me feed my dogs more raw. Mainly with treats and toppers. Thank you for making this video 😊
THE BEST piece of advice I heard was raw verses cooked bone. Thank you that has been a huge concern of mine. GREAT information
What a sweet 🐺 dog needs well behaved 💕💖
My young arctic mix used to sleep until 2-3pm on summer days. We're now on a 50/50 BARF and kibble diet and he's perky and happy at 9pm (I know, he's still a late riser) even on hot days with the AC off! 5 extra hours of happy activity per day is incredible! Happily doubling his waking hours makes me so happy for his heightened quality of life! (I have to note that I'm immunocompromised so there's a ton of hygienic concerns -- but they're absolutely worth it!)
amazing video Anneka. I used to feed my dogs the same, but my Saluki loves Chicken wings more :)
Thank you and wish you a great weekend :)
Cheers from Switzerland
I'm glad you mention the Chicken raw and not cooked because I was wondering about that
awesome!!! thanks for sharing, how do you calculate or scale for different dog sizes?
This is really useful for my dog who’s always getting sick of som thing, sometimes too much food or eating something it shouldn’t
The dog
Thank you Anneka, that was very informative. I'm just starting BARF with my 4 Labradors and much of the advice out there is confusing. Too many percentages. On one site I had people going off about how my dinners were unbalanced, but wouldn't elaborate further. They just kept throwing percentages at me and sending me to the page's guidelines. Your video was very straightforward and very informative. So, thanks again, I will definitely be following you from now on... Keep up the great work.
Don't worry, just give them meat. They will be great. Leave the vegis aside
You need more than just meat. You need around 80% muscle meat, 5% liver, 5% other secreting organ, and 10% bone. It's not too complicated but they can end uo with a deficiency if they don't get a "balanced" diet.
I love how she says vitamins lol.
That's because she's British 😂😂Americans say it really weirdly
I love your laughs, too cute and pretty.
My mom and dad feed it all raw and freshly kill. Loves the internal organs, especially the green tripe. My favorite are goat, lamb, salmon, beef, and occassionally venison. Thanks for your show.
Been feeding raw for years ... my chzec x husky is healthy and his coat his beautiful 😊
Samantha Bailey I would love to know how much to feed my husky. I want to try this but I'm nervous I won't get the right ratio so that it balanced
a good trick for that is using chicken leg quarters since they are naturally balanced for most dogs just make sure you're getting the cheapest stuff you can since then it comes from the biggest factory farm around and the last thing they want is salmonella going through there so they inoculate them in the egg so there's pretty much a 0% chance of your dog getting salmonella however make sure it's full leg quarters do not use legs and thighs they are different
Interesting, great. Dogs are beautiful and amazing and my favourite creatures on the planet.
Thanks for a wonderful presentation.
thankyou
I really want a wolfdog!! Thx for the feeding tutorial!
You are Awesome! Thank You!
Thank you Anneka :0) I just subscribed to your channel
Love wolves and you seem to really know them and their
Wild needs.I have a friend that has 2 wolfdogs.
This is fantastic, my parents want to get a dog and I want to convince them to feed raw, this will help a lot thank you 👏👏👏
Thank you for this wonderful and informative video Anneka!
Its not easy for the little folks but we still want the best for our pets
spot on ,
Totally rocks!!! Awesome video!!
This is great! I've been feeding my dog with raw meat and he absolutely loves it! It looks that they know what is good for them hahaha. Thank you for the tips :)
Hi what kind of raw meat u like
My dog ate rat poison once so id disagree.
Love it this video 1st time real raw/barf dog food 👍👏👏👏👏
You should make a video of the Australian cattle dog aka blue/red heeler aka dingo dog
Hi Arthur - I have one of the Dingo if you go through my videos but yes I do love the Aussie cattle dog and thats on my bucket list
Amazing dogs, so loyal.
Lovely view in the back. Nice home
Great Anneka!❤🐺
My american Lab had never eaten raw food until I adopted her, she just copies my husky mix Duke in everything he does and now she is a very healthy and happy dog :) try murunga leaves too, it's a super food both good for humans and dogs.
thats great to hear :)
Best decision we ever made for our dog
Dog food kibble, at least most, is like eating at Mac Donald’s every day.
Indeed. Kibble is procesed but some brands are fine like blue and taste of the wild
Even heart desease. My god i dint know that thanks for telling i feed my 2 mutts a fresh meal from meat, rice, to table scraps i sometimes or rearley give my dog kibble.
@@yowzki7284 I have heard people stopping buying Tow because there's link between heart disease between grain free dog foods even in young and small breeds.
That’s wrong! It’s not like going to Mickey D...... It’s more like eating at the gas station everyday.
Raw diet for my rotty, labrador and dachshund since the start 2019
Splendid!
Nice information Anneka!
I've never heard the word "vitamin" sound so sexy lol.
Such a beautiful wolf dog !
