- SCP-1861 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as The Crew of the HMS Wintersheimer.
SCP-1861 is an anomalous meteorological phenomenon characterized by heavy precipitation and fog composed of saltwater, human blood, and human cerebrospinal fluid. SCP-1861-A is a single underwater marine vessel that closely resembles B-class boats used by the British Royal Navy in World War I. During each SCP 1861 manifestation, SCP-1861-A will attempt to surface in a body of water that is large enough to contain its full mass. SCP-1861-B are humanoid entities that emerge from SCP-1861-A during SCP1861 phenomenon. SCP-1861-B are dressed in full body suits resembling deep sea diving gear, although with no discernable source of air supply. If an instance of SCP-1861-B encounters a human subject, it will attempt to persuade the subject into entering SCP-1861-A, claiming that this action would be in the subject's best interest.

I feel like this SCP is the ship of a crew that died during WW1. The men in the suits are undead and are wanting to help people, but they themselves aren't aware they died, kinda like that memory of dying has been erased. They are trying to get people to safety, without realizing that they are dragging them to their deaths, because that panicking really looks sincere .
I don't know about the blood though, maybe that's their actual blood? I have no idea why it would be in the air.

It's neat to see the Foundation and its MTFs actually protect people. Granted, I wouldn't have been so ready to wipe their memories (think about it; the mist and the rain were the only real anomalies. The sub, and the guys in suits were weird, maybe, but they didn't really do anything that the average Joe wouldn't need to be wiped for).

It's to stop people correlating the incidents. Remember, this happens every so often, eventually more and more people will know about it. And wonder why an old submarine that's been out of production for a hundred years is appearing in places where there is water kidnapping people, from Britain to America and every else. There's something called water zones for a reason.
But what would groups like the GOC or the Chaos Insurgency do if they caught wind of this?
Though i think the GOC’s option is quite evident, torpedo it the moment it arises.

As a German I can say, the name _Wintersheimer_ should be pronounced as "Vinters-hymer", not as "Vinter-shymer". You correctly pronounced he diphthong "ei" as an "ai" sound (like in the English word "guy") . But the S and H are not combined in a phoneme. In German, the "sh" sound is written as SCH. The -s at the end of Winter (winter) is either a genitive S or a socalled "linking element S" that in some German words is inserted between two parts of a composite noun for ease of pronunciation. And a "Heim" means a home. The word "Heimer" doesn't actually exist in German, but it could be interpreted as an archaic word meaning a person who owns that home, a home owner of a homestead near a place called Winter or a very cold place in general. "Wintersheim" could be a place name, the home of the winter.

Those actually happened, although it is quite rare. All throught history, it had been recorded at various points of time and in different spots. No one could explain why, but a common theory is tornado waterspouts.
What if they get someone that already has a diving suit on and make them go in the submarine because they won’t need to put on the other suit and therefore will not drown and will still be able to take it off when they get back to normal world?
Edit: tbh the submarine probably has some unknown power that will do something to divers.

@@lenaalt2387 commercial divers or navy divers could do it. As long as they had an umbilical connected to a compressor pumping them enough air. They carry a bailout tank for emergencies so they probably wouldn’t want to use that immediately.
I always wonder why when there's any SCP like this they don't check such obvious things...
The diving suit is also anomalous, once you go into the submarine you are permanently underwater until the next event where it goes back to earth to pick up more people. No suit you bring can last you for the length of time you'll be underwater once you enter
I think it’s interesting that SCP-1861-B still keep their individuality from when they were human. Although it either lessens with time, or only the veterans are sent to interact with the people

Plot twist: Scp-1861 is not a threat and is really granting everyone protection from any kinds of harm but with a condition of not removing the old diving suit which also grants the user invincibility and immortality.

The original SCP file stated that once the submarine submerges after picking up people it is permanently underwater until the next resurfacing; The alternate dimension it travels to is a dimension fully filled with water. They've tried it once and the guy simply died when his suit ran out of air, and one of the crew actually carried his corpse out and laid the guy to rest when the submarine resurfaced, while angrily swearing that he'd make the mysterious entity in the other world pay dearly for claiming another life

Actually I don't remember the number but remember what it is. So here I go:
1. A smg/or at least a gun that wear sailor uniform and plucking flower with saying "he love me, he not love me."
2. A wolf that able to manipulate any information about themselves. But can't alter anything written in red color.
3. A cat that can transform into a house cat, a white cat, and a giant monster cat if he called with specific names.
4. A raccoon that would make anyone dance and love to dance. Regardless of anything, any race. From pig, dog, human, even an anomaly creature (a SCP).
