- SCP-1337 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Hitchhiker.
SCP 1337 is a Level 5 Humanoid Apparition, free roaming, corporeal, actively aggressive. It appears to be the wraith of one Mary Talish, who was abducted, ritually tortured, and executed on May 19th, 1952, in Muncie, Indiana. Starting 19 months after her death, SCP1337 began to appear on the 19th of every month, walking down Mayflower Road, attempting to flag down any passing vehicle.

4.) Find the cult. Maybe they had some form of grip on her, that made her unable to leave the area.
I thought of just going a different way to the house that doesn't pass the graveyard so she hopefully doesn't decide to get out of the car
Or just take her all the way home, from what I see she didn't have the ability to leave if the door was kept locked so just drive past the place in spite of her reaction and being her all the way home.

What’s so strange is that literally killing an aging couple and demolishing their home behind the back of the SCP foundation got him demoted to Junior Researcher, but for everyone else so much as looking at a senior researcher wrong is enough to become D-Class.

I also thought what if they tried locking her in since even though she can just vanish from the car, she always left it physically. Lock her in forcing her to take the ride to her house, and see what happens. The only ways for this to fail is if she vanishes or attacks the driver possibly making her believe that they were the killer to her murder.

I was curious to see just how much it might cost for the foundation to keep picking up Mary as per the original containment procedure. The highest average national oil price in the 1970s was in 1979, at about $0.86 per gallon. Adjusted for inflation to 2021, that's $5.97 per gallon, but we'll round up to $6. For the sake of argument, let's say the Foundation vehicles used to patrol the road had fuel tanks with a capacity of 20 Gallons. The cost to fill the tank completely in 1979 would be $120. The length of Mayflower Rd. isn't really specified, but in this instance let's say 30 Miles. Also, I'm assuming a number of at least 5 vehicles deployed at a time.
With the road being 30 Miles in length, and only being driven every hour for 24 hours, the number of miles traveled comes to about 720 Miles total. Even if the cars only got 10 Miles per gallon, not uncommon to cars of the 1970s, each vehicle would only expend 72 Gallons of fuel. Each vehicle would need to be filled 3.6 times, but again, let's round up to 4 for simplicity's sake. To fill one car to drive a distance of 30 Miles back and forth for 24 hours, assuming an average 10 MPG, it would cost the Foundation, when adjusted for inflation, comes to $480. That means the cost to fuel all five cars and have them running would be $2,400 dollars.
$2,400 on the 19th of every month, coming to $28,800 annually. Bear in mind this number doesn't include taxes, but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that the foundation has some sort of tax exemption. Even if it doesn't, even if it tacked an extra $10,000 on to the price tag, the cost is exceptionally low in terms of SCP containment procedures.
What's the significance of this, why did I spend twenty minutes looking up the average prices of gas, calculating inflation, and typing this up? The main point is to highlight just how petty Dr. Lawson is, and why he deserved what he got in the end... Even using the highest gas price of the 1970s, not even the one in 1972 as is stated in the video ($0.36 for those curious), the cost of keeping SCP-1337 safely contained was a virtual drop in the bucket compared to some of the Foundation's other expenses.
Bear in mind, I worked this all out at 4AM on less than 5 hours sleep, so there's a good chance that I completely messed up the math somewhere. I doubt anyone is going to even read this seeing as this is a UA-cam comment section, but hey, I hope you found it interesting if you did!

One of the Foundation's rival organizations had tossed it into a woodchipper, turning it from a friendly teleporting chair into an angry pile of mulch capable of teleporting into people's lungs. Its a popular example of why the foundation's policy is contain anomalies instead of destroying them

I read about a very similar sounding story in a book about ghosts. In the story, a boy went dancing with a girl. The boy brought the girl home and the girl borrowed his jacket. When the boy went back to the girl’s house for his jacket, he learned that the girl was dead for a while. The boy then went to the girl’s grave where he found his jacket.

This is probably the only scp I ever encounter in my real life. It's happened back in 2010. I just chilling on my porch, it's 10 pm at night, I live in rural area, there was a girl just walking in front of my house at night alone in the darkness of rural areas!!! She's wearing a white dress but with flower pattern, and sweater but from jeans material. She's eerily has the same hair cut like the one in the video, but she's not blonde, she's also quite beautiful (I can't forget her face because it was very unusual event) seeing a beautiful girl walking alone in the darkness passing in front of my house of course I come close to her and say hello to her. And in fact she's quite just like a normal girl. And I don't even suspect her as a ghost or something. I just thought she might be lost or something. But when I ask her where she wanna go? She explains that she want to go home. So I offer her a ride to her house of course. And she's agreed. I ask her number and she gave me her number. And then I use my motorcycle. On the road I ask her several question like what is she doing walking alone in such place where almost nothing exist except for a few house. She told me she waiting for her friends but because it's too late at night she decided to go back home. And she told me that her home is not that far from mine. I'm confused. I born and raised here all my life but never once I ever see her. But i keep it all in my head. Until she tell me to turn right. But I even confused this road only lead to a graveyard and a couple of house. But I thought maybe one of those house are her house. And before we even see the house she ask me to stop she want to walk to alone to her house. And the road ahead is so dark!! Almost no light except from the moon. And I dunno I just agree with her so just leave her there in the middle of the road of nowhere that leads to graveyards and a couple of house.
Go back get some sleep. In the midnight my phone beeping I thought who the f call me in the middle of night. I see my phone I see her name. Oh this is "that" Girl. I answer and ask her what happens? But she just saying "what are you doing? " Over and over like a broken tape. I who just half awake. Can't process what is going on so just close the call and go back to sleep.
In the morning I try to call her number again but the line says that her number is not listed to anyone's number!! Its confused me a lot so i told this story to my neighbors and somehow weeks later one of my neighbor said that "that" Girl is actually exist but she's already dead like 10 years ago due to traffic accident. And the clothes I describes is spot on with her clothes that she used on the day she died.
After a couple of days my phone suddenly gone. Just vanish, my number can't be dialed by other phone. Says that my phone is inactive or something. Then I realized that I still save her number in that phone. And I thought maybe because of that, that my phone disappear..
It's real story back in 2010, sorry if my English is so messed up because it's not my first language.

I think the SCP community is getting the recognition it deserves lately :3
My theory is that Lawson was actually part of the GOC, undercover as an SCP researcher who was tasked with destroying 1337 and make it from Safe to Neutralized. But instead he made her from Safe to Euclid
Then the GOC would immediately send a group with paratech to destroy the anomaly itself, or bring it to the parents' house, which would calm down for a long time.
