- In this video we take you through the Riu Palace all inclusive resort in Costa Rica, Including a room tour, during the pandemic. The Riu Palace has put in place safety protocols during these times and we were impressed with the comfort of our stay given the circumstances. check out their website to book a stay and enjoy this video!

29:11 my husband and I sitting right behind you guys. 💕 beautiful vacation.
that's awesome! Yes such a cool place to go and just chill. Can't wait to go back. Maybe this year's as it's on 2 hours away from us
@@TheDufresnes you definitely should. 🌊
For sure
My one and only time in Costa Rica I stayed here. This is when I fell in love with Costa Rica.
I like the way you promote my country. The video is very cool and I shared it with my friends and family
Thanks! Yes we love Costa Rica and enjoy traveling around and sharing everything with our viewers. Thanks for sharing with your friends and family.
I absolutely love RIU resorts.
I just went around 5 months ago. It was the best time of my life I miss it so much
Happy Anniversary!! Me and my husband have booked a trip there in September for my birthday! We are Georgians so hopefully our state will be allowed to come, fingers crossed
Enjoy ur anniversary
Did you make it! My bday is in sept as well. 09/15 😍
Haha watch our channel, we live here!
I thought you were directing you comment to us haha
Super helpful, traveling there next month, I love to see real footage of the resort! Thanks so much!
Thanks! Enjoy your time there
How did you like it there. We are trying to decide to go there or not
It's a nice resort, but what's better is coming and staying at our Airbnb and experiencing the local culture of our little beach town! Check out our website www.seacasasamara.com we just put in a nice new pool as well
Beautiful resort...I barely got to see it as I did the Diamande Superman zipline. I was busy screaming. Lol. Nice to see a different way to enjoy beautiful Costa Rica
We went to Los Cabo’s Riu all inclusive luxury resort it was amazing now we would like to visit Costa Rica
All Inclusive's are great! But Staying with us at Sea Casa in the off the beaten path town of Samara is better and gives you a sense of true Costa Rica. Plus Samara has many amazing restaurants.
So chilled, thank u guys for posting this nice CR vid. Pura Vida
you ,ur videos,CR,Pura Vida.Awesome!!!!😎
Glad you like them!
You do the best reviews, I'd saw one on the same hotel, yours was a whole lot better. And much more. Informative.
Thank you!
Looks amazing! Happy anniversary.
Could be a great side gig of tourism videos...
Thanks, that's what we're going to try and do
Another great video! I loved the drone shots. Thanks for putting in the costs of activities, that's really helpful. Are the non-motorised watersports included in both RUI Palace and RUI Guanaste? I don't like 'goaty' flavours either.🤣🤣
Happy Anniversary !!! Great review almost went there when it first opened up. Maybe sometime in the future 😉
It will re open soon. I booked for December
Great video, very detailed, really cool aerial shots with the drone, a lot of useful info. Just for the record, they removed the liquor from the rooms due to sanitary measures. Thank you for sharing, I hope they finish the refurbishments before September 15th, I`ll be there with my family during that weekend.
Thanks!
You both lucky, Happy Anniversary! enjoy it!
So nice, my husband and I were there in 2018. We stayed in the adult only side, but we visited the palace often. The evenings are romantic. Everyone got dressed up for dinner and the show. The pools made up for the ugly beach. Love that place and Costa Rica. I did not care for the iguanas, they scare me. Enjoy!!!
What side is adult only??
When we were there we thought the resort we stayed at was adult only but it wasn't. I don't know if they have an adult only one anymore
Happy Anniversary to you both, enjoy that beautiful place 👍🥂
Great Video . I can't wait to check this place out. What kind of editing software do you use? Amazing work!
Thanks, I use Adobe after effects and Vegas pro
Thank you for the video of RIU Palace Costa Rica 🇨🇷 We will be going in April of 2021! Great Video!
Thank you! Enjoy your stay
Did you enjoy your stay there, we are thinking of going this year 2023
We did, and most do but it's still just an all inclusive tho. What you should do to have more of a Costa Rican experience is come stay with us in Samara, by the time you factor in what a night is for accommodation with us and compared to a night at the Riu you would have about $240 USD a day left over for food and drinks plus we can arrange a shuttle and all excursions for you in our area. Samara is the best beach town in Costa Rica and there is a reason people keep coming back 😊 check out our website www.seacasasamara.com and email us if you have any questions. Pura Vida.
Thanks so much for a very detailed review of both Palace and Guanacaste. I'm leaning toward Guanacaste.
1. The shops you walked into, are they inside resort area or do you have to leave the resort for that and is it safe to leave the resort?
2. The beach looks somewhat abandoned. Do they have loungers?
3. I heard they is a monkey bar somewhere along the beach. Is that true?
4. How rainy is it to visit Costa Rica in May/June?
you guys are so funny when you're tipsy!
😂😂😂😂 We're just fun people!
I went about a month ago i miss it so much and feel like ima bout to cry :(
Thanks so much for this review, I'm planning a trip there in April.
Come stay with us in Samara! Www.seacasasamara.com
thank you for this video .. our last 2 March breaks were spent at the Riu Palace ... so good to see they are reopening after being there through the emotional shutdown of both Riu resorts ... we are definitely returning ... and including a few days at SeaCasa !!
You're welcome and yes come stay with us too!
We really want to visit Costa Rica and love doing all inclusives, especially with kids who want to eat all day. Rius just seem too modern/cosmopolitan without any kind of tropical feel to them. Wish the Dreams wasn't so remote.
All inclusives are great but you can book an Airbnb like ours and eat out for cheaper plus you get to see and do more
Happy belated anniversary!!! We stayed at the other Riu and it was similar. The glove wearing is very different here in San Jose. You actually are not allowed to wear gloves if you go to a hospital and it was explained to me that because generally people do not know the proper protocols to properly put them on and take them off.
Thanks! Yes the gloves were tricky to put on as I said in the video, they made everyone use alcohol on their hands first tho.
Really liked the video, planning on going next summer.
You should!
Best wishes in your Anniversary ‼️🎉🎊🎈🥂
Muchas gracias
Thank you!
Super nice 👍 going soon.
Enjoy!
I have a trip booked for June 1-6 2021. Is any hot tubs or gyms available during COVID measures? Read some theater stuff is cancelled. I also read that beach closes at 2:30 in the afternoon and pool closes at 6-6:30??
Best to contact the resort, beaches are now open until 6, it's always changing
Happy Anniversary! Great video, enjoyed seeing what the Rui Palace has to offer, only seen from a distance. My wife and I had a great stay at Margaritaville in Flamingo.
Muy lindo lugar conocí cuando fui hace dos años. Feliz Aniversario 🎉🎉
Muchas Gracias!
How did you book this exact room? Did you upgrade upon check in? or did you book from website. I only see booking for those regular standard rooms
It was on the website, maybe these ocean view ones aren't available for your dates
what were the wrist band protocols? was there one to separate age and another to seperate between the 2 resorts? Im reading that they're pretty stingy if you loose the band.. do you ljnow what the process is for that? Im visiting in may so Im trying to figure out the most info! :)
Not sure about the age, when we went you could only be at the resort you're staying because of restrictions and I'm sure with ID you could get a replacement band
Great video friends! Happy Aniversary!
Thank you!
Seems like pretty good weather for august that’s suppose to be rain reason ? 😊
It's green season
How was the food and drinks ? What’s a restaurant we must go to ?
Thank you for the information it was really helpful. My family is going Aug 2021
Happy Anniversary to you!
How was the weather there in August? I am planning to go there this August. But I am afraid that it will rain the entire time!
ua-cam.com/video/q79TDBm9Wwc/v-deo.html
Was it busy during covid? Or was it very quiet. Wanting to travel there and don’t know what to expect.
It's was busy on the weekend and slower during the week
Great video! Do you know if room service is available?
Thanks! Yes there is and I believe it's 24/7 we didn't use it as we were out all day
I been to the rui next door in 2018 nice place
Great video dude! THANKS. Pura vida!
Thanks for watching!
@@TheDufresnes . I'm planning to go on Oct. Hope we have the chance to make it :). I will try to document the same experience. But I must say, your video guys is one the best I have watch so far! Thanks for the JetSky data. I was wondering how much for a ride. Thanks and be safe.
Awesome! If you ever make it to samara book a stay with us here at Sea Casa. Www.seacasasamara.com we can arrange quad rentals and other excursions for you too.
@@TheDufresnes . Wow that's cool! Sure. Thank you for sharing this information. I live in San José, and I never been in Samara. Can you believe it? haha! Thanks guys.
You definitely need to come to samara, it's the best laid back beach town and we have awesome restaurants. The beach is the safest in Costa Rica because it's protected by the reef
Hello, How do you go to the RIU Guanacaste to use their facility from Palace?
When we were there they weren't allowing it because of covid restrictions, not sure if that is still the same?
Do you know what the requirements are to travel to Costa Rica? I haven't been able to find any information online. I know some places you have to show proof of a negative test before you go.

Hi, I saw you video and I found it’s really good and interesting. I been to Costa Rica 3 times and I went two times at the Riu. It’s a very great hotel. Probably, I will return this winter. By the way, I fund the quality of your movie is really good. I would like, if you don’t mind, witch camera you use for doing this movie.
Thanks! We use the Canon M6 mark ii with a gimbal, I will be doing a video on what we use soon
Thanks a lot for your answer !
For the all inclusive, does it include food at the a la carte restaurants? And can you order alcohol/ drinks to your room?
Yes all food is included and I believe you can order to the room. The rooms do have beer in the fridge and normally there are bottles of hard liquor in the room and soda in the fridge.
They aren’t doing room service right now because of COVID
Ahhh thanks for the update
was there good wifi throughout the building
It was decent
Would tipping staff in US $2 dollar bills be appreciated vs two one dollar bills? Would there be issues with exchange if they needed?
Good question, I haven't seen a $2 bill yet in Costa Rica. It's US currency so I'm sure it would be fine. Now a Toonie from Canada, that's a whole different issue haha
@@TheDufresnes What 3 excursions do you recommend are a must do from the Riu?
I ended up tipping in $2 bills and it was the best thing I could have done, the bartenders were pouring my drink and had it waiting at the side of the bar for me whenever they saw me approaching the bar no matter how long the line was!!
Haha they were doing that for us too before I tipped, walking around with camera gear before has its pay off too. I dint even want the Caesars but they went out of their way to pre make them when we came walking down the path. Costa Ricans are amazing people and super friendly
is it all adults?
No
Question Before you guys went did you have to get a covid test?
No Costa Rica has not required testing at all to enter and neither has any resorts or any other places
I am in Costa Rica now .. I have toured the country for a month.. this place is next
Enjoy! We also have vacation rentals made out of shipping containers in Samara if you still have time left after!
My family and I are staying there in November 2022 for 2 weeks
That's a long time to stay in one all inclusive, make sure you head out on some day trips to see the real Costa Rica.
@@TheDufresnes How would you like to be our guide for a couple of trips? Of course I would pay you rather than our tour operator :)
Thanks for the offer but we are very busy, maybe if you were staying with us here at Sea Casa it would be more doable around the Samara area. There will be tour options available at the Riu. Llanos de Cortes Waterfall isn't to far, same as the Rincon de la vieja Waterfall and mudbath
@@TheDufresnes is this place kid friendly. ages 7 and 6
When we went yes!
When they mean by all inclusive, is it really all inclsuive? Like no extra $ paid?
That's correct, everything is included in the hotel. If you go shopping on the strip that's extra to buy
@@TheDufresnes what about activities near the beach like kayaking, etc
I believe kayaks are included but everything else is more
Happy Anniversary!
Thanks!
How far from samara is the palace?
2 hours
Good morning guys! We love your channel, keep it up! How much does your cell plans cost? Do you pay monthly or prepaid sim? I can't seem to find any specific answer. Thanks.
Good morning and thanks! Check out our cost breakdown video, we discuss our cell phone cost here: ua-cam.com/video/7OxRUr8DF8E/v-deo.html
@@TheDufresnes Awesome!!! Thanks again, we are headed down to Tamarindo in October...so excited.
Hey! I watch all your videos! i was wondering how much money you guys make from rentals!
would you recommend for a solo trip
Yes
How was the food ??
Great
Is this a good resort for singles?
Good for everyone
How did you get your drone there?
In my carry on bag
@@TheDufresnes No issues with flying? Do you need any kind of license in Costa Rica? I would like to bring my micro long range.
No issues, just can't fly in nacional parks and most airports are recorded so you won't be able to fly in the no fly zones
Hey retirees how far is this Riu resort from your condo?
We don't have a condo but it's 2 hours from Sea Casa
Where did you say to stay? I don’t see it the notes.
Found it on your Instagram. 😀
Thanks for watching, are referring to our Airbnb here in Samara that we mentioned?
@@TheDufresnes yeah! I see them on airbnb. So we would pay for our flight and pay for the stay and then we could just grab some local food from tho grocer and hit some local restaurants? I’ve never stayed abroad unless it was at a resort. So I’m considering your spot. Looks super chill.
That's correct! It's a much better way to travel and experience Costa Rica. We've done price comparisons and based on our nightly rate and compared to what the average all inclusive price is after the price of the stay with us (as a couple) you're left with $200 USD for food and drinks (in comparison to a nightly rate at an all inclusive) Our rentals are fully equipped to cook and there are a lot of very good restaurants here in Samara.(you can eat at a local soda for around $5 a person for a huge plate) We just finished our amazing pool as well. At the moment we have availability in our Casa nautical from March 17th and on and in our Casa Tropical from March 31st and on. We would love to be you're hosts here at Sea Casa!
I meant to say $200 a day. Plus you're not stuck in a resort you can go around and explore and meet locals as well as other travellers 😊
Has anyone been there in January how is the weather?
December to april is dry season which means it's mostly clear blue skies!
Do you have to tip for room service?
You never "have" to tip but it common courtesy to tip for someone's service, especially if they do a good job
🇨🇷🇨🇷
Pura Vida!
Do you need a rental car?
Depends on what you plan to do, I'm sure they have an airport shuttle from Liberia international
@@TheDufresnes rainforest, volcano and waterfalls. That’s what I would like to see oh and zip line!
If you want to go there yourself and not with a tour then yes a rental car is needed, if you come and stay in our vacation rentals in Samara we can arrange most tours like that for you with a tour company, some of them you need at leat 4 people
@@TheDufresnes what’s the link to the rental? Looking to come the 1st week of March for a couple of days.
Www.seacasasamara.com you'll find the Airbnb links there March is the best time to come.
Room tour should be turned around to see the room and not you but thanks
Keep watching, it does show the room
Great video dude! THANKS. Pura vida!
