Thanks Martin, I spent much of my childhood playing at Tomnaverie Circle as I was brought up in the nearby village of Tarland. When I revisit, I always go to the circle to "recharge my batteries" and bring back fond memories of the past! The views all round are panoramic and quite stunning! The ancients built in that exact location on purpose given the perfect location and no doubt had a certain correlation with the sun, moon, seasons and star constellations. Great work!
Thank you for your kind words and thanks for sharing your memories of Tomnaverie. The views are certainly stunning and as you mention the site was carefully placed by the ancient people, no doubt about that.
Look forward to this. Appreciate all your videos.🙂 The first time I visited Tomnaverie was a very mystical experience; at dusk, mist & wind seemed to appear while climbing the path, pushing us back. We felt a strong but assuring presence of eyes watching us > Ancestors from our past perhaps. I do love the fact that you always thank our Ancestors for building these Sacred sites.🙏🏻 ~ Blessings & good health to all.🐱♏🏴💫
Hi Jennifer, it certainly is a special circle. If you every want anything left on Patreon for an extra day or two just let me know. Thanks again for leaving a comment.
The Neolithic sites on Orkney are quite well known and Callanish but the others I feel are not greatly known about, eg... the Aberdeenshire recumbent stone circles.
Greetings from Germany, visited this awesome place in 2019 while staying at a friends place in Peterhead! So far my favourite stone circle, scenery breathtaking, would like to meditate there in a full moon night! Very atmospheric! Made my own video about the stone circles of Aberdeenshire, such as Sunhoney, Midmar, Cullerlie etc
Hi Thomas, that is great you got to visit Tomnaverie and some of the other Aberdeenshire circles. Please put a link to your video below, I would love to see it, Martin.
this is so well made! thank you for the great visuals! i'm doing a research report on Bradley's monograph and living overseas i can't visit, so this is exactly what I needed! going to check out the documentary as well :)
Thank you for your kind words! There is two Aberdeenshire recumbent stone circle documentaries on my channel and a third part which looks at a few of the non recumbent stone circles in Aberdeenshire. I have got a copy of Richard Bradleys book 'The Moon and the Bonfire. Best wishes from Scotland.
This is a link to my full Documentary on Aberdeenshire's Recumbent Stone Circles.

Mate I might miss it, but that's because I'll be at a circle myself.
🌅 It's a lovely morning, sure you will have a great visit.🐱♏🏴💫
Hello James, I hope you enjoy the short video. That is great you are out visiting a stone circle, Martin.
I didn't make it. It's too remote. I'll need help. Trying again next month.
I hope you get to visit the site, it is one of the best in Aberdeenshire.
Well I'm in Derbyshire and was going for Arbor Low. I just didn't have the time and resources. That's alright. It isn't going anywhere...
