- We adopted our dog, Kiro, from a shelter in our town in southern Italy about 6 months ago ... it's time to find out what, exactly, kind of a mutt he is!

So, what is my Italian rescue mutt? Well, when Connor's sister recently visited us from the States, she brought a doggie DNA text with her. We've been anxiously awaiting its results, and we've put a wager on them, too! Watch the video to see how it went down... (hint: we ALL guessed completely wrong and were totally shocked at the true answer!)

Kiro;s ancestors wandered from eastern Europe to Italy because Italy is so beautiful. He is such a cutie too! Bravo, Kiro! 😉
Maremma sheepdog is the dog that we use to call “Maremmano”, its a very common dog in Italy epsecially in the countryside and its like a whole security service, its so protective
I definitely learned something new today! 🐶 ❤️
Yes, and (like any other shepard dog) they can become dangerous if you get too close to the herd they are protecting.
So be carefull when you meet one while hinking.
Pastore Maremmano like the one in the "Giotto, l'amico dei pinguini" movie
Exactly
Kiro... razza "puro amore" 💖💖💖
Eastern Europe Village dog, I definitely learned something today as I never heard about them. Yet Maremmano is a famous dog breed in Italy, Kiro has definitely a unique lineage
Next video should be in Maremma where Kiro Il Fifone can meet his ancestors and you guys can taste Acquacotta!
Una buona idea!!!
I love dogs no matter what their breed is! Mine it's a mix oh Jack Russell and Shih Tzu and was born in England but he lives now in Italy. He lived in Romania as well so he's totally international! :)) You have a beautiful dog, congrats! xx
Wow your dog is a real globe trotter!
@@TheQKatie indeed, and that made him really smart and prepared for anything in life! Just like it does for us humans when we live in many different countries! xx
Kiro is sooo nice, whatever the breed
I agree 🐶❤️
when I saw Kiro I totally thought about maremmano abruzzese (just maremmano is incorrect)! Same eyes, same expression, basically maremmano in part of half of the "bastardini" in southern Italy, it's like THE italian working dog. but the charisma of kiro is totally different from pure maremmano (that is shy and need a lot of efforts to be well socialized, being a breed created to fight wolfs and bear...). I see also some "cane pastore italiano", that is similar to balck shepard!
Ha Ha Ha !!! The true mascot of the Quirky Club ! I laughed out loud at his expression while in the tub ...... :D
You are CRACKING ME UP!
He’s cute as a button whatever, the video where he was getting carried though 😂😂😂
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I love Kiro. I hope more people take care of there pets like u do
Awww grazie
Kilo looks so meek and nice.
While a Maremmano is full white, I somehow noticed that kind of behaviour in Kiro, from your videos. BTW he is such a good and caring boy
So what I take away from Eastern European Village Dog is basically a dog with out a breed. If you Google it and go through images there are various breeds and the pic labels it as such. Learned something new! Kiro is adorable!
Kyiro is so sweet and beautiful dog he has so much affection and love to you and Connor I love kyiro 💖
I didn't know they make those DNA tests to dogs also. Nice!
I wonder if someone has used that to check the purity of the breed of his own dog.
Kiro is gorgeous and so sweet and living his best life! I still say lab and german shepherd!,
Hahah me too 🤫 😉
Whatever he is we love him! Right, Kiro?
🐾 💕
Kiro Superstar!
Pastore Maremmano is an Italian race of dogs, Maremma is famous land between south of Tuscany and north of Latiun just 50 minutes from Rome, east european village dog i never heard too, but i know that in east of Europe it was (i don’t know if it’s true today) common to had this community dogs that walkedfreely from house to house for food.
By the way, Maremma it was also famous for the “butteri” that was the italian version of american “cow boys”.
This is a cop out. It would update be like calling my dog a West Virginia village dog. (Which he is.)
Bellissimo Kiro ❣️❣️❣️ col suo nasone nero ... #adoroKiro ...
He is paralyzed by water 🤣
È vero! 😂
Our has the same reaction when we put on him his raincoat.
It almost looks like you could gently push him to one side and he would fall to the side like a statue.
Obviously, after 2 seconds that he's been outside he forgets he's wearing it and couldn't care less.
He is such a drama queen 😂
Katie, i would like to send you my new novel ( with a dedication, sure) just appeared on amazon, its a mediterranean story between Egypt, Greece, Spain and also Canary Islands (still Spain). I Think you will appreciate for reading in italian, for the adventure itself and also because the coprotagonist is a dog, named Jimmy, behaving quite like Kiro ( and i guess, quite like every dog). Would you give me a p.o.box or an amazon locker or an addresse of a store close to you where you can pick up the book?
In Eastern European villages dogs used to run freely and happily and they'd basically do what they wanted to. 😁
When they say Eastern European dog, it came to me that Kiro looks a little bit like a transylvanian hound
🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Ok... unfortunately "Eastern european village dog" is a dog breed doesn't exist. Kiro is probably a mixed breed dog; simply a son of "bastardini" from Eastern Europe. That's it! But he's a lovely dog!
Pastore italo texano!!😚
❤❤🇵🇰
Eastern European Village Dog?! 🤦♀️ Sounds like a Heinz 57 situation
Does you husband Connor have Irish ancestry?
Lucky you! A village dog has not had any human breeding preferences foisted on its DNA. Have fun sharing your life with a real dog.
Surely Connor is 75% Ethiopian, even if he believes in Leprechauns
Eastern European village Dog? ....ehm ehmm...... what? Never heard it....😅😅
Come dire 82,2% BOH! 😂
