This is about 25 years after the release of the Pearl Jam Ten album and so let's see what they got!
Eddie Vedder looking good and healthy so that is a start, stage is beautifully lit and the crowd are singing along nicely.

This always was and still is one of my absolute favs from Pearl Jam.
One of my favorite PJ songs. I always thought this song never got the attention it deserves. About his father.

WOW! Such a great song and performance! I loved your reaction,too! I was fortunate to attend a concert years ago where a fan proposed to his girlfriend as Bon Jovi played "Bed of Roses" and the band knew about this and dedicated the song to the couple - it was magical....!

Detrucci PJ is one of the greatest bands ever. One of my favorite tracks. ✌
Pearl Jam opened with this song when my (now) wife and I saw them in 2010. It brought her to tears. I just looked up the date... and exactly 7 years to the day of the show, our son was born.
Whoa that is so cool :) I dont think ive ever really had much music bring me to tears. Which is weird because im a sap for romantic comedy movies
Detrucci Have you listened to Hamilton? There’s some content in the show that’ll bring a tear to my eye, but mostly that comes from some of the notes that the vocalists hit. It’s pretty crazy how that happens.
They opened with this song this year in zurich without lights completely in the dark and it was just magical.
This was at a stadium the home of the Chicago Cubs.. the fan Ed dedicated the song to lost his father there is a pro shot video/DVD of the 2 concerts called “Let’s play two” they interview the fan as he is waiting on line
I was there. Sang my heart out. This was my bucket list concert. A simply awesome experience!
I love PJ rocking it with Neil Young live on stage doing "Rockin' in the Free World". Saw them live in Manchester, UK in the 1990s.
@@Some__Rando I saw it down in Oregon. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. NIN on stage with Bowie in Tacoma Wa. R.E.M.s Michael Stipe with Sonic Youth at the Gorge in George Wa. and Public Enemy with Anthrax in Seattle were some other memorable co performances I was lucky enough to see.

The 1st song I ever saw them perform, opener in St Louis on the Vs tour. Won 4 free 15th row center tickets and a limo ride to and from the show (the only right way to attend any concert! LOL) on the local radio station! One of the greatest shows of my life. I cant hear this song w/o getting chills, it is so achingly beautiful!

This was a huge concert. And this song breaks my heart every time. It's a touchstone for many people. Eddie probably had no idea when he wrote it. There's even a movie that uses it as it opening and closing.

Live in Holland 1992 is imo far and away the best version of "Release" i've ever seen. This version is good as well but i highly suggest checking out that version as well, doesn't have to be a reaction video, just saying personally check it out on your own my friend.
I like this version better. Eddie has an incredibly powerful voice. Don't get me wrong. The Holland version way back in the day was amazing too!

MY FAVORITE OF PEARL JAM!..Different meaning for me than what he intended..I've had several friends family members pass from suicide and I can feel the deep mental pain they wanted to be "Released" from!
This song gives me goosebumps everytime..btw Wrigley Field is a baseball stadium that holds about 40,000 ish for a concert i read..i was there for both shows in 2018

Pretty much every song in a Pearl Jam show involves crowd participation, some songs more than others. Check out Corduroy from the same show, but from their Let’s Play Two documentary- it’s their cameras so it’s a bit better in production.

It actually took me a long time to get through this song after my dad died and my daughter has seen Eddie but not PJ. Her dad died under awful circumstances that were self induced. I'm truly so afraid of her hearing this.
This is a beautiful, soothing, song. A calm closing out of the album. But honestly, I it wouldn't be my pick for people singing along to, the words (other than Release me) never registered with me much

Betterman is great and the MSG version is excellent, but the State College 2003 is their best version in my humble opinion. At MSG Eddie let's the crowd sing the entire first verse, which deprives us from hearing Eddie do it!
Dude get on Netflix and watch the documentary “lets play two” its about the year “2016” when the Chicago Cubs won the World series. Eddie Vedder is a huge cubs fan, “and so am I” but the documentary covers one of the greatest underdogs win moments in history!
