Great reaction, Nikki. Now I think your next Pearl Jam reaction should be the song "Alive". Both official music video and mtv unplugged versions are awesome.
Hi. I'm really very happy to know that a representative of the young generations knows how to capture the atmosphere that existed in the 90s also thanks to grunge. Eddie Vedder's voice, their music was a turning point in the way of listening and expressing music. Even today those sounds give me goosebumps. And also a bit of nostalgia.
I love Pearl Jam and especially I love Eddie with all my heart. He was and is an important part of my life. Thank you for your videos and greetings from Poland.
Post's a HUGE PJ fan, and just got to sing a duet with Ed for the first time at a fundraiser for Ed and Ed's Wife Jill's charity, where they sang Ed's "Betterman" together, and Post was absolutely starstruck throughout the whole thing, until Ed started singing one of Post's songs in the middle of it. That loosened him up and they had fun from there on out.
Omg!! YES!! just under a month ago (Feb 17th I think) Eddie and Post Malone sat down and sang together (PJ's iconic song "Better Man" was probably my fav of the event though🤗)! It was so simple but absolutely beautiful! You could see how humbled and in awe Post was to be sitting there singing with one of his music heroes. The whole thing was awesome!!🥰 Hope she gets a chance to check it out!!🙃✌

Old Pearl Jam "Fan" reporting in... who started listening to them in 1992. This band was many many years my favorite - although I always listened to very different stuff (Metal, even Thrash/Death Metal, but also House/Soul/Funk, many orchestra/film music, etc). I would suggest that you follow your own wish. Peal Jam - like many other bands - did A LOOOT music. More than half a dozen albums and on every there are a few great songs. They usually did power rock like Even Flow and Jeremy, but also ballads and some other stuff. You can take their recordings from record... or take one of the MAAANNNYYY live versions, cause they are usually a great live band. One of my recommendations: Rearviewmirror from Pinkpop open-air in 2000 (there is also a famous pink pop from 1992). This is such a powerful song with such a powerful version. Then there are songs like "given to fly", "corduroy", "you are" ... and so many more. In the end this is your channel - do what you want. E.G. you could try here and there a "medley" of one artist/band where you put several songs in one video.
Thanks so much for checking out the unplugged version, too!!! I appreciate that a lot! I mean...a looot!!!🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 Guess you will love "Porch" unplugged...
Can never hear too much Pearl Jam. I agree you need to see the Unplugged version of “Porch”. An incredible performance! And thank you for pointing out the fact that Eddie’s singing is naturally like that. So many people think he’s putting on a false effect, but it’s simply his natural voice. Also, his vibrato is much more noticeable during slower songs, or ballads. Something like “Come Back” live, from Verona, 2006.
VIBRATO, EDDIE AND POST BOTH HAVE LOTS OF VIBRATO, YESS YOUR EXACTLY RIGHT. POST IS A BIG FAN OF EDDIE AND PEARL JAM!! EDDIE SINGS THE SAME AS HE TALKS. 😊🩷🤘✌️
Yeah. To say it is incredible is an understatement. Whether you post it now or not, you should record it now so you don't have to live one more day without that song in your life.
@FeelItRising It has been done on many other channels, but most do a minute wrap-up. The thing I like about Nikki is that she looks into the songs after watching and gives insight into it.
You can never get enough of Pearl Jam. I love watching Eddie sing, he puts his whole heart and soul into his songs. Just watch his face when he sings. His eye movements, his facial expressions,he puts everything into his music 🎶 🎵 he's incredible ❤
Nah... Kurt Cobain of Nirvana was better on their 'MTV Unplugged'... Layne Staley of Alice In Chains on 'MTV Unplugged' was another... Steve Perry of Journey on the 'Live in Houston 1981' performance ... Ronnie James Dio of Dio in Philly '86 ('Finding the Sacred Heart') ... Geoff Tate of Queensryche on 'Operation" Livecrime' in 1991 (Queensryche also did MTV 'Unplugged' in 1992)
Love the reaction...But you can do Temple of the Dog ...Hunger Strike music video (Eddie Vedda & Chris Cornell) 2 of the best 90s voices you will ever hear. and its not pearl jam... lol
Great song and a disturbing video but they hit the nail on the head with this remarkable tune. The entire 10 album is worth a listen, try the song Release for another amazing song. Great band, enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
It’s often overlooked but I think you’d really enjoy their performance of Jeremy from the 1993 MTV VMAs as well, especially since you seem to like the song so much. Check it out! ua-cam.com/video/ciMLuhxk2wU/v-deo.htmlsi=dRmJ_4eGC2SJs-Ix Also, my fave PJ song rotates regularly but consistencies are Fatal, Given to Fly, Go, and Hard to Imagine. Well Black also but you already know you need to get to that one. Give those a spin too when you get a minute 🙂
Glad you were wearing your semi plait, flannelette shirt while you react to PJ songs. Lol! You definitely have the circa 1991 grunge chick look. Oceans is a good song to react to from this live album if you want another ballad or Porch if you want a more upbeat song like Even Flow
Back in the 90's as I was growing up there was a battle as to who was better, Pearl Jam or Nirvana... 20+ years later, some people have not gotten over it. As other's have said, never too much Pearl Jam and for that matter Nirvana. Great bands!!!!
If you wanna do more pearl jam you should do yellow ledbetter but the studio version, and do the evolution (ideally video clip). That'll be a rollercoaster!
There were 5 fantastic vocalists in the early 90's Seattle era. Chris Cornell, Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain, Mark Lanegan and Eddie Vedder. Sadly, only Eddie is still with us. Do your ears a favor and check them all out.
I'd recommend checking out Eddie's other band, The Earthlings and the song Invincible. The official video featuring NASA's Artemis mission. It's live, though, not a studio thing.
Too Tempted to Wait Thursday..Love it Nikki.Yes more Pearl Jam is great .Not everyone is going to love everything you do but you do enough different videos during the week everyone should find something they like. Two things I thought you would find interesting about Eddie Vedder.First thing Eddie Vedder writes PRO-CHOICE on his arm during Pearl Jam's performance of "Porch" on MTV's Unplugged 1992. Number 2 Eddie Vedder postpones U.S. tour until fall to heal nerve damage, this happened back in 2012.Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder has bumped back his U.S. tour plans by about six months so nerve damage to his right arm can continue to heal. The nerve damage is the result of a back injury earlier this year.
The Eddie/Post Malone duet of "Betterman" is excellent. Post has covered PJ songs live many times and he seems to be a big fan of Pearl Jam, Nirvana and others from the 90s. It would be great to see a rraction to that video. Keep up the great work
I already got that one recorded (same day I recorded this one) 🤭. So it will be out sometime soon! I definitely wanna check out more of what Post Malone did, cause even if I heard the covers I probably didn't really appreciate it as much as I do now.
Only hours until 2 new The Warning songs. Have you heard Lolli Wren's (The Fairy Voice Mother on UA-cam) cover of NIN Hurt. It's only a few weeks old now and I highly recommend it.
No I haven't but I will have to check that out! And I had no idea there was new Warning coming. I did 1 video on Friday, still have yet to do the 2nd. 🙂 What did you think of them?
"Alive" was probably the biggest song from off the album Ten. It was the first single released and it instantly rocketed them to stardom but then the whole album was great...i suggest you listen to "Immortality" or "Corduroy" by Pearl Jam.
@@travzimmerman1340 It is always debatable however, "Alive" was certified Gold on both the Australian and International charts, and Silver on the UK charts. In comparison, "Even Flow" was only certified Silver on the UK charts, and "Jeremy" only certified Gold on the US charts. None of the 3 songs made it onto the Billboard Hot 100, however Even Flow spent 52 weeks on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, peaking at number 8, whereas Alive spent 61 weeks on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, peaking at number 7. Personally, i think there is a struck match between the 3 songs, however, when Alive first came out, it was played everywhere and you just couldn't escape from hearing it...not that i was trying to escape from it lol
