- Happy New Year. I know quite a few of you got Coravin as Xmas gift not too long ago. Here is a video on Coravin how to’s, tips and what to avoid!
Thank you very helpful information.
Had purchased about year ago.
Ready to use now. Thanks again
This was very helpful. Awesome tips that I have not seen anywhere else.
Thank you for the video and informative comments. You might want to note that new models have the smart clamps. My model six is a bit different than what you demonstrated.
Very helpful. Thank you Angie..
You are so welcome!
Great tips on using it especially on cork portion.
Thank you
good tip on the plastic corks.
Thank you 🙏
Angie, I purchased a model 6 recently. I have always wondered if bringing the bottle back upright to stop the flow allowed some of the built up argon in the bottle to also expel from the needle. I guess what remains is not much different than the air space that is in most bottles when they’re intact anyway.
Very good information . Question,. Is it necessary to remove the Argon capsule before storing or can we leave it installed.?
Definitely leave it in! :) if you unscrew the capsule it will before it runs out it will completely deflate and that’s $$ down the drain (learned that from from personal experience)
Thanks. But ideally to put your camera closer as it's too far away to see the device.
Very helpful contents. I do have a question. How often do you replace the needle with proper use? I heard that the needle can break easily and the needle itself is not cheap at all…
Also, have you gotten the pivot model. If yes, which one would you recommend, the needle version or the pivot? Thanks in advance!
Mine broke after 7-8 capsules, so I'd say 30-40 bottles.
However, this will differ based on cork condition.
@@rvp976 thank you for anser. Mine broke too after lets say 20 bottles. I am pretty happy with the system BUT some times I had air leak which leds to spill of wine on the table. Just a little bit, a few drops, but annoying anyway.
Angie - watching your video made me wonder if I were to reseal the top of the pierced cork and bottle with melted wax would that create a barrier that would "seal off" the wine and prevent oxidation past six months? Any thoughts on this?
Hi @onocoffee, that sounds like a fun experiment! My thought is that it would help with the oxidation problem! What a cool idea! Might just have to do it to see if it works!
@@angiesomm9511 Thanks - I hope to see the results one day!
I have a question, can you use it without the Aragon Capsule? If so, can the wine be preserve for a few weeks even if you didn't inject the Aragon?
Unfortunately it won’t work without the gas… nothing to push out the wines, you’ll just end up poking a hole on the cork
I noticed the device has a short needle. How do I ensure that the bottle is fully depleted of wine being the the device’s needle is short?
Well if you’re going to finish the bottle, just take the cork out and you wouldn’t use the device
I am only getting about 10 glasses pet capsule, isn’t that low?
Hmm 🤔 does seem low, I wonder if there might be a leak in your unit somehow? I’ll probably ask their customer support/tech support to see what’s going on there
How do I know if the capsule is empty ? Thanks.
You’ll be able to hear 👂 the difference and no wine would come out :) Hope that helped!
Which model of Coravin are you using in the video? Thanks.
Original model :) still works great for me
@@angiesomm9511 thank you
This has to be the worst clip on the subject. The hopeless presenter continuously refers to the contents of the bottle as alcohol. The contents in a wine bottle is wine. Hopeless.
Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry referring to wine as alcohol made you think this is the worst clip ever 🤷🏻♀️
Are you being real?
