  • Hands up if you've never heard of isomalt? Hands up if you've heard of it but you're too scared to try? Hands up if you've tried it but looking for something new? Then this is the tutorial for you! In this video I show you how to convert this sugar substitute into three different decorations. A couple of sails and a coral shape too.

    I adore your videos. You are adorable and I have learned so much from your videos. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I'm enjoying learning about the new techniques in cake decorating. They are a far cry from buttercream flowers. If I could just figure out (after about 20 attempts) why my macarons spread out and are misshapen, my baking life will be much improved. I can't wait to start using isomalt. The decorations are gorgeous.

    Can you link the isomalt you use? I'm in the US and can't open the link for your storefront because it's the UK. I am having trouble finding Powdered Isomalt....I don't really fancy the crystaled isomalt. I find it gets more sticky and harder to use than the powder. But it seems all that's available now is the crystal isomalt...

    I made it and wasn't hard to do at all. I don't have a silicone mat and used parchment paper instead and worked out very good!

      This technique is specifically for Isomalt - it looks the same as icing sugar but won't work

      Yes you can use parchment paper but it's a bit difficult remove the sail. Yes you can use sugar.

      Add some water and heat it up so it melts again then pour it out

    HELP!!! I cook isomalt (with tap water-is that my mistake? ) on 171,1C than the pan goes in cold water and than I pour it In my cookie(I want to make glass like heart with pearls in it). I tried everything, fan, glaze(glucose syrup+vodka), staying over night, now I even got silicagel bags... Nothing... Its still very sticky😭Pleas tell me what I'm doing wrong??
