- I finally got a Zoom V3 to shoot a demo video! This is an amazing vocal processor that offers up all the greatest hits of vocal tricks like pitch correction and harmony, and it also includes some great and creative vocal processors that will make your voice really stand out. Plus it functions as a USB audio interface as well so you can take this to the studio to record into any DAW software. Stick around and check it out. You'll be glad you did.

Good straight to the point demonstration. I've subscribed so I can get more of these. Thanks buddy
Glad to help. Thanks for watching
Good job , that it a the coolest Vocal effects unit I have seen . I'm using a TC Helicon unit and this has many more options and the harmony function is very cool
Glad you liked the demo
Wow...this new Zoom vocal box sounds like just what I've been looking for to enhance my vocals.
😎
Ahh, ya got my attention in the first three bars! Nice production and useful info!
Glad to help
Thank you so much for your fantastic video. I nearly didn't but this after some of the Amazon reviews but you put me at ease very easily. I am buying this right now ;~}
Happy to help
Thank You so much. I’ve been looking for a machine like this!! 👌🏾💯💯💯
Glad to help
Watching this video taught me a lot about my new V3…sure beats the manual…thanks!
Thanks
I'm definitely getting this this Fri for our live set up
Good luck and have fun
I love that this lists all keys around the knob. The Roland only lists the major keys and you kinda have to figure out on your own what the accompanying / relative minor key is. Being a vocalist and not a musician, the Zoom is really helpful listing all the keys.
😎
Hey, if you're a vocalist, you are a musician. II know what you mean, but you truly are musician! ;)
Thanks for the overview.
You bet
Man, you have an excellent ear and vocals, no worse than the stars, you need to perform, I think you will win the hearts of millions. Best regards from Russia.
Thank you
Definitely getting this 🔥🔥
Cool
Thanks, great review!
Thanks!
I was ready to send this back until I watched this video. Thank you. Can't wait to go home and try again
Wow. Thank you! That's one of the nicest bits of feedback I've ever received. Much appreciated!
Thank you for this
Thanks
nice and easy! thanks!
Thanks
Good advice on the umph factor, I am more of a guitarist.I have the tc helicon gear, but was super impressed by a 3d zoom recorder i bought. The sound is awesome.
Thanks for sharing!
Can you plug your guitar into this like with the tc helicon?
@@cathypearson-tharrington3785it has an aux in , but the input requires the 3,5 jack plug
Haha the @Kraftwerk reference.... I'm the operator with my pocket calculator😂❤
Glad you got it 🤪
Thank You God bless You
You are so welcome!
Thanks! I am going to try this. I had a VE-20 Boss but im starting to get lots of sound artifacts and crackling.. so I guess its time for replacement.
Nice Rush drop!!!
LOL. Thanks
Kudos on the Rush.
Thanks
Can you use the harmony effect and the pitch correction at the same time?
great video !
how can i hook this up to my mixer and still capture the effects from the zoom into my computer ? My computer has an interface which captures the signal of my mic into my DAW. How can I incorporate the zoom into my tools to have it record ? I noticed your using phone jack in ? is that headphone jack to two RCA plugs into a mixer ? please help before I purchase thanks
Glad I found you
Thanks
Thanks for great demo.I have a ve20 which is I use live with backing trax and is OK. I mostly use double for the song choruses because other harmony setting s are not really usable. Would I need to set a key on the Zoom to each song because I play sax(s) flute fiddle so enough to think about.
Thanks for the review. I would think that a deal killer might be that the outputs are 1/4 instead of XLR. Am I seeing that wrong?
Great demo.
I found the added harmonies to be robotic.
Tc helicon and the ve-8 have more natural sounding harmonies to my ear.
I tried all of them over the years.
Guitar center lets u take it home for 29 days.
Really try it.
Things sound different after a couple weeks.
Try em soft, loud, feedback limit testing if ur thinking live.
Happy hunting.
Get that sound.
Hard to know how much effect percentage he had on. I feel like all of the demo's for these harmonizers (including TC HELICON) they always have the effect cranked to 100%. I always use mine at around 35-45% to make it sound more natural.
My tc helicon was great at first but then it would lose harmony tracking. Tried two of them.
@@Acoustribute don't think this unit has a wet dry balance. Too bad! Yes, can be sometimes good to set partways for similar FX
Zoom products are the best... I own several (as seen on my YT channel) and I've never had a problem with any of them!
Excellent
Thanks for Tip I like v3 what about you I get confused easy
I could disagree. I got a zoom multi effects processor for a guitar and it had such a weak/ flat tone that I gave it to my niece. She eventually left it here with me nearly unused a couple years later.
@@accountemail9712 I bought one… had to give it back… very poor toy sound
Just got one of these and I want to harmonize with some the songs I spin for my saxophonist. How exactly can I set the key to a sharp/flat?
Thank you for your helpful demo. (I would have liked to hear you isolate/demonstrate the delay effect a little more.) I'm shopping for an easy to use garage band harmony processor around 300 bucks.
Thanks for watching. This will certainly get the job done. I have it in stock if you want to pick one up
the delay/reverb is very usable for a vocalist. not much in the way of options but I combine this unit with my desk anyway. ive been getting some great feedback doing Phil Collins using the delay/reverb on the unit. Ive been using the harmonies on Eagles tracks. Took some experimentation but very happy. I do wish I had got the V6 though. Serves me right for being cheap.
Great video but could you help me with the sound connections please 2 outputs go into the 2 input speakers ?
I was deciding between the roland vt 4 and this zoom v3. I think I'll go for this one since the vt4 is more for people that sings with too many autotune or vocoder. I want a processor mainly for chorus, delay, reverb and the telephone effect. But i would like to also get echo and flanger/phaser effects. What do you recommend?
How would you compare this with the TC helicon Voicelive touch 1?
Is this unit capable of producing 4 total vocal harmony parts at once? I.e., dry vocal + 3 harmonies?
What a great video !! Can you use a pedal to change presets? and how it works?
I will need to see what can be done with the exp pedal input on the back b
Updates firmware just before a demonstration...gutsy!
ok...
@@ThePedalGuy That hasn't worked so well in the world of Windows...ask Bill Gates.
Hey man dig the vids. What would you suggest as a solution for me here - Im considering either a preamp/ compressor or a vocal effect device for recording and eventually playing live?
Thanks. Yea, this or the big brother V6 would do the trick for that. You can also use rack mounted gear, but it's not as much fun ;-)
@@ThePedalGuy Very cool. Thanks brother. How is the preamp/ comp on it? Also, have you seen the Universal Audio Volt 476 thats available for pre-order? Its an audio interface with built in preamp and compressor too.
Thx for your helpful demo. I'm considering buying a zoom V3 and was just wondering if you could adjust the volume of each harmony. I'd like to make sure that the lead voice can remain louder than the harmonies. Thank you very much :)
That's typically usually controlled by the amount of effect (harmonizer) that you put on. I usually have my harmonizer effect amount around 35-45% anymore is too much.
Can I add reverb while using harmony?
Question : to maximize the quality of the pads " pitch correction" do i have to set the knob " harmony" in a specific position ( depending what i am singing) or is not necessary? Thank you for your kind reply . Patrick from Italy
Hey, thanks so much for this demo. Can it play more than one effect at a time (like pitch correct and chorus)? Or is it just one a Ly a time? - In assuming the 3 on the right can run all the time regardless - compression, reverb & delay?
And last question: does the delay have a tap tempo feature?
Thanks again for your help.
No, Yes, and no. But the V6 has more features in a larger machine
Dude you probably did the first “auto tune” vocal acoustic version of that Rush track ever! 😂👍
LOL. Happy to be first at something!
Thanks for the tutorial! Do you know if you can save presets? I've read the manual but it doesn´t say anything about it. And also, can you adjust the delay tempo?? Thanks in advanceeee!
Thanks. It doesn't save presets. I had a look at the delay and it can't be edited either to the best of my knowledge.
@@ThePedalGuy thank you again man for answering! That helps a lot. Even if you can save presets, it's so easy to use than in a few seconds you can come up with any setup you want. The best of lucks to you!!!
Thanks for this demo. Can you use more than one effect at a time?
Thanks. As far as I recall it’s one effect at a time
I like it how much
$249. We got em in stock.
First off. Great chanell. I just ordered one. Question though. How do I hook it up to my interface? Or my Focusrite Scarlett . What do I need?
Would have been nice if you ordered it from us 😉
You can use it either as a usb interface or plug it in analog to the Scarlett
Are there any vocal harmonizers/processors, where you can have access to the controls with your hands (without bending over) & then have the start/stop switches down below to operate with your feet?
Not sure honestly.
Evening just come across your video I am a kids entertainer and I have a costume that I wear, I'm looking for a device I can plug into my qu24 mixer and then plug my mic into and change my voice, do basically a voice changer. Is there anything you can recommend. Many thanks. I use a head mic.
Thank you very much, thi is very helpful, but a question: how many of all those effects could be used together at the same time? For example if I would have an harmony with a vocoder, does it works?
I don’t believe it works that way
@@ThePedalGuythank you dear for your response! I think I Will go for the boss RC 505 mkII , that has all those effects on 4 banks also together, and the loop section seems to be very useful for RnB music, and also for rock cover. Thank you so much for helping me to understand what I need
IS there any way to set up the delay tempo?
Can you use both formant AND pitch correct at the same time?
No one of my subscribers liked vocal processing at all.
In fact they refused o listen to processed vocals.
I don't blame them.i stopped and my channel has grown.
Ok…🤷♂️
Is it practical to switch the effects with your feet while playing live? I just ordered it ,but it doesnt look that practical to be used with your feet.
Better demo than most with this machine! (It is too bad that you can't use a wet / dry balance with most fx?)
Thanks
Its design remember the (classic) TC Helicon's voice Live Touch (1 & 2) . But I think they forget the in mic stands.
What mic are you using please?
SORRY IF I WANT TO CONNECT IT TO THE MIXER FX SEND? DOES THE V3 HAVE AN INPUT? I DON'T WANT TO ENTER THE ZOOM DIRECTLY WITH THE MICROPHONE
if your playing gutar and singing, how do you turn the effects on and off?
can it do a dalek voice?
I'm really looking at this one and the Roland VT-4 to have between a dbx 286s and a mixer or interface, so not use the USB sound card functionality. For me, this will be about 2/3 of the Roland VT-4 price, so I'm kind of leaning towards this one, cause it looks very useful.
It’s a lot of fun
@@ThePedalGuy One of the things the Roland VT-4 has over the Zoom V3 is that it can use Pitch and Formant at the same time, but for my use, that's about it, but the Zoom V3 has a lot more effects and is fast to use. I don't really think 50% more for the Roland is worth it.
Question, can you use more than 1 effect at a time say pitch Correction and unison?
Not that I recall
Hahaha hell yeah a rush fan!!!!
Excellent
Can you only use one vocal effect at a time on the v3? For instance, could I harmonize while using the talkbox effect?
You can only use one effect, so no, but you can use compression, delay and reverb at the same time.
Out of the vocal processors that you’ve tried what would you say is your best advice on the best one within a 600$ budget
The v6 is pretty nice too as you get the expression pedal.
is it possible to have two effects at the same time? Example like telephone and pitch correction?
Not that I'm aware of
What does the "fixed" button do?
Can this v3 effect be used for live performance on stage?
Yes
Would This unit be very good for backup? Im a backup singer in a band n i really need a effect that does multiple harmonies when i backup
Sure.
Can this be used to record live vocals with a prerecorded track through a daw
Yes it can be used as an audio interface
Just got 1 nice I had to use 1/4 to 1/4 unbalanced cable to my karaoke cd usa machine model gf920 to make it work. The balance cable did not work why ? Maybe you know why ?
Hi, does this have a plugin for the daw control? Tks.
No
Can you pop back from harmony from singing a chorus to singing solo in the verse?
Not sure. It's been a bit since I used the V3
Are you using a keyboard with it as your talking Thru the FX?
Nope
Could this be used as a professional voice changer for phone calls? Specifically for changing voices from male to female and vice versa? If so, what would be the recommended settings?
Can the reverb go complete wet ? Seems a fun pedal.
If I remember, yes
Can I use this for live performance? I noticed it doesn't have xlr output. How can I get this to come through a speaker?
Of course. It's a 1/4" output to your PA system. Should work fine.
So how do I use it in unison with my audio interface? (To record vocals and guitar at the same time)
Audio Out of the V3 to the Audio In on your Audio IO
Was hoping you would go over the Reverb and Delay
Thanks for the feedback
how is the delay?
can you sing into this without using any effects but just a normal voice and enhance and compressor and reverb?
Yes. The reverb, delay and compression operate separately from the other effects. They can be used on their own.
Hi Scott, could you tell me if this zoom v3 has a doubling up effect like the singer Ozzy Osbourne uses for his voice?
The unison effect would probably get the job done.
can you hok it to a foot control
It looks good, but what are the outputs? That looks like a left and right quarter inch Jack?? Why not put an XLR out on the back?? Kinda puts me of this
Thanks for the feedback
Can you easy use it for livestreaming?
Sure. Should work fine for that.
Is this vocal processor got flanger or phaser effect?
Nope, just chorus
How are you hooking up the V3 to the computer?
For that video I just connected the outputs to my usb mixer
hi, one question: looking at the key selector knob, there's no option for sharp and flat tone key. if someone wants to sing, let's say in F#, or Eb, how to select the harmony for that pitch?
That's a very, very good question!
There are flat and sharp keys in grey below the major keys but I can't find out how to switch to them. For example, just below C is Am but I don't know how to choose Am instead of C.
Curious why did you choose Am for your key?
No particular reason
Does it work with a pedal? I play lguitar and lead vocals for a rock band and can't mess around with buttons on stage.
No, you would want to look at the V6 as the alternative if you need it to be a pedal.
Is it possible to combine vocal effects within this pedal?
No I don't think so.
@@ThePedalGuy thanks for replying
Can you use harmony with pitch corrector?
I don't believe so. It's just one or the other.
Robot for the win Intergalatic beasty boys lol
Ok 🤷♂️
@@ThePedalGuy you just convinced me im getting this with a yamaha mg10xu and a moniprice memphis blue this next week for my performace setup great review bud
@@Bowling4GeezersYT Good luck
So, every time I have to change a key for another song, do I have to adjust key on the unit? I can’t see where that would be realistic for a live performancee setting.
Thx
Is this able to work with sharp/flat keys?
Yes
@@ThePedalGuy Just got one of these and I want to harmonize with some the songs I spin for my saxophonist. How exactly can I set the key to a sharp/flat?
How to connect the keyboard or guitar to the zoom v3 processor directly
Keyboard out to v3 input
Hei how does it compare to a tc helicon play acoustic live?? 🤗
Haven't used that TC product so I couldn't tell you.
@@ThePedalGuy would you recommend this product when it comes to sound quality?? :)
@@alamaguitars5693 yes
Looks cool, but can it gargle goregrind ?
Maybe with the distortion effect
can you use 2 effects at the same time?
Not that I recall
oh my harmonies are so loud. Cant they be turned down?
