Yes there is intense hissing at certain points, It seems to be when the camera cut to a different angle though and I don't think it is coming from the device
Most of these effects are in most Daws as plugins but they cant beat the real thing. That harmony function sounds great, in all that device would be very useful in any studio.
This is meant to be used in Live recording, not post recording. If you can just record any song you sing and add effects while editing the recording in DAW, obviously you wouldn't use any device like this. Do you really think full sized band would use DAW and set of effect plugins for guitar, drums, vocals and bass in a concert? No they don't, they use effect processors and amps connected to a mixer for that.
Do you know what makes a chorus metallic or not? I love the metallic sound on guitar with very subtle waves or no waves if its possible but on vocals i like a warm wide chorus also with no waves. Would it be possible to make such an effect box with no waves but metallic to smooth ratio?
Hello, I would like to ask a question!! I have a zoom v3 and when used as an audio interface it does not recognize it does not record the audio that enters the aux in, can you tell me if it is a problem with my zoom v3 or are they all like that ??? I've already updated and even then when I use it as an interface it doesn't recognize the audio that goes into the aux in .... it just comes out of the headphones but doesn't record ....
Hmm these questions are always hard. I think the problem might be in the computer rather than the device, but it's hard to tell without being able to have a close look. I wish I could be more help!
one small drawback imho is that the aux in is bypassing the effect section. it would have been really cool, if you had the choice to bypass or insert the aux in. insert aux in as left/right/combined. otherwise this device is really value for money. great fun and easy to use.
@@superheroineforum It is the unit itself, outputs on Zoom V3 are unbalanced so you need either properly shielded cables on outputs (Vovox protect series are great, though expensive as fuck), TRS male to XLR male adapter and use XLR cable on the output, connect the ZoomV3 outputs to DI box or simply using shorter than 1 meter cables. You can also get rid of the hiss in post (for example audacity has noise reduction effect for that). I had same issue with my Zoom v3 until I got myself UMC404HD and just connected it using insert and TRS to XLR adapter and TRS to XLR male and female insert cable, though it might be just because I also use external pre-amp, compressor and noise gate as well.
Has it chorus built in Does it actually create Good smooth vocal tones. Instead of all the Crap cheap robotic sounds . Certainly can't use those sounds on stage. Probably get a tc helicon.
It does have chorus, but yes the TC Helicon voice processors are much more professional. It's worth looking at the Boss ones too, I've reviewed a couple of them.
hi, one question: I know the V3 generates harmony based on the key you set with the key dial... but the key dial doesn't have # and b...so, if one wants to sing a song in F# or Eb, does it mean that you can't generate harmony for that?
It can do those keys - there’s a special truck which I can’t remember right now but it’s definitely possible
Рік тому+1
There is definetily all keys in the knob itself. For example Gm is same as Bb major. You need to understand some theory which keys are same notes then you realize there is all keys available right away.
I can't believe you didn't do Phil Collins "In the air tonight" with 'Harmony' switch - you're old enough to remember 😜 But seriously - context matters! I am willing to bet that none of the nay-sayers below in the comments are voice-over performers or do any play reads or audio casting of sorts. The whole purpose of a vocal processor, is for people to sound as they do and the processor do all the processing for them - instead of trying to sound like a robot or a child before speaking to the mic. Get yourself a four or six person dialogue to read and record it - you'd instantly save yourself 3/4 if not 5/6th 🤪of the recording time just by pressing the right pad for the corresponding role (a man, a woman, a robot, a child and the demon on hold to the customer services representative at Subscribers from Hell on the phone). The fact that each pad retains memory of the effect adjustment is awesome. My only request would have been to be able to select multiple effects simultenously. Maybe 16 patchable pads on Mark II?
The 90% of effects is useless. And the other thing which I see - the trs connections to the mixer. Who was the engineer building that device? It will be the real problem on a stage connecting it to the hub which usually has XLR. Also it is a lot of useless effects which I feel should be changed for example to patches as on tc helicon perform-v. Hope they will do something through the firmware to use pads as patches. I hope. Until that - this unit is a only toy.
The noise coming from this video ruins the whole purpose of this video.. If this is coming from the connection of this unit, you just saved many people from purchasing this. I would think the company would be disappointed in you - if indeed your are doing dis service to this..
Yep that’s a common criticism of this unit. Could be my recording equipment I guess, but I used the same configuration as with everything else I have reviewed :/
@@gearfactsIt's an unfortunate fact of recording equipment. The only way to truly have no hissing is to have it all be battery operated instead of plugged into the wall.
It's easy to just make a blanket statement like that. Can you be more specific? What application (s) were you using it for? And what are your credentials? I ask your credentials to understand if you are an engineer, performer or just what level of professional or recreational application this unit failed for you.
@@robertedney2189 that’s a fair point and admittedly I was frustrated when I wrote that comment. I have been recording music for the past 14 years but have not received any official classes or instruction apart from what I’ve learned on my own. I was initially frustrated with this device when I tried using it while practicing plugged into my recording setup. I had really bad latency but when I brought it to my bands practice I didn’t have the same issue plugged into the PA system. I will stand by my original statement though as I do not think this product is worth the money and I have not used it more that a handful of times since I bought it and I only used it then because I was trying to justify buying it.
Do I detect alot of hiss coming through???
The question is, if the hiss comes from the camera. Because there are also none hiss moments.
Yes there is intense hissing at certain points, It seems to be when the camera cut to a different angle though and I don't think it is coming from the device
Thanks for this great demo. Is the hiss coming from the Zoom V3?
I believe so, but to be fair to Zoom my setup is very amateur and undoubtedly the sound quality isn't optimized.
I watched a lot of reviews on this. This is the best demo on the V3 by far. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

@HOLLA SOUNDS but this is so much better without the constant menu surfing like with a DAW.

Is a foot switch available for the V3 ? Many thanks. Pete.
Yep, the Zoom FS-01
Hissing problem also i have. When plugged in dc power supply. I have one of this

Hello! Thanx for review! Can you help me how to set on F# minor?
Sorry it's bee a long time since I had this one, all I can suggest is looking up the manual online.
I think I could finally be able to create the soundwave voice effect from the transformers cartoon.
George Orwell fan? :)
Hello...how to switch into minor and major keys for harmonizer
Can I use the footswitch to control the Harmony effect? How to configure it?

The routing of the aux input only go to the line output, it doesn't go to USB output. There is routing diagram on the V3 manual
Where is the mega hiss that we ear once in a while coming from ?
Can tell me at which time the hiss is audible? I can't find it, but you are the second person to mention it so I'd like to get to the bottom of it.
Excellent for film production, live or post, especially for horror and sci-fi, easy to use even without a PC.
Agreed. A lot of people seem to hate it but I think it's perfect for those uses.
one small drawback imho is that the aux in is bypassing the effect section.

insert aux in as left/right/combined.
otherwise this device is really value for money. great fun and easy to use.
Yeah that would have opened the door to a lot of cool experiments. An option to on/off effects for AUX would have been even cooler.
Can you only press one pad (effect) or is it possible to press several pads at the same time?
One at a time only
First question ?? It does alot . But how do u use this with one person Playing Guitar and singing at the same time ??
I don't have it anymore, but I'm pretty sure it's a single channel pedal ie voice only.
Can you hear the scrambler even if you sit a bit away from the microphone? the one I have now then skips to your own voice another brand.
I would really like to see a review of the Casio LK-80.
Coming right up in a few days!
Do you think the hiss would decrease of the dynamic mic were connected to a mix preamp such as DM1 dynamic or fethead cloudlifter
Not sure, I keep hearing about this hiss on the video but no-one has told me which part of the video it's in, so I can't analyze it :)
It's in the beginning of the video and all throughout the video. Is that his being generated from the zoom unit?

Direct access to EQ, can I take notes from midi or other signal to sync harmony and pitch correct? Or just set it and forget it.
Good question - I don't think so, but it might be worth looking up the manual online to see if there is a discrete way of doing it.
Are the vocal effects better than Roland Vt3 or Roland Vt4? Thanks
Looks like a pretty solid unit !
its made out of plastic! dont drop it!
Can the hiss be turned down, it's rather noisy for recording purposes?
I don't recall seeing a noise reduction option, so I think it'd need to be done externally.
Why my unit,turn off unintentionally?
How do you connect it to the keyboard?
You don’t have to connect to a keyboard, it’s a standalone machine.
Is that noise floor hiss?
Yes
@@gearfacts yikes!
Hello, is it possible to use more than one effect at the same time? For example, distortion and telephone? Thank you
No, only the main effect and delay/reverb

Yep 👍

Can you loop live with the v3?
Yes
My favorite scene was with that beautiful cat!
Oh thanks, that's Moki. She appears in quite a few of my videos :)
@@gearfacts So maybe it would be a nice idea to compile all those scenes - you could call it "Best of Moki" and put some of your music under it! 🙂
The Octave up turned him into Morty Smith immediately! Lol

Wow that machine is incredible
Yeah, it gets a lot of negative pressure because of its noise levels, but it’s undeniably great fun. And useful.
How to connect to a mixer
What's with the hiss?
Which part of the video (min:sec)?
Thanks. Planning to use it live!
Have fun!
Is the hiss coming from the v3?
No, I hade quite a lot of audio trouble making this video. The V3 isn't to blame :)

You should play guitar through the robot setting and see what happens or chorus and robot like techno metal.
Love the images. 🙂
