@@AiOinc1 I recommend listening to the battle themes in Pokemon TCG 2, the battle themes in that game uses drums and have a completely different vibe. I think both that game and this game accomplishes a lot but it shows how diverse the ways music can be successful in capturing a vibe and emotion
@@kengallyStill sounds worse than this. The drums are just a bunch of white noise, and even real drums wouldn't make up for how useless they are. It's not about "emotion" or "vibe," they're useless instruments.
Blows my mind how three simple channels can make a piece that sounds like it has so many moving parts. You can really hear the care that went into how each channel plays around with the others, packing all these unique ideas in a minute and a half loop that never ever gets old. Would love to see the Kanto trainer battle music from the gen 2 games broken down like this.
You should do the GSC version at some point. It’s so cool to hear how these tunes were rearranged, using the same 3 sound channels in totally different ways.
The fact that this song sounds epic and intimidating without a drum track is incredible.
Goes to show how little drums truly do
Drums can do alot if applied to the right music track.@@AiOinc1

It's crazy how square 1 is just automatically playing in my head when I listen to only square 2
I love to see some FRLG for comparisons too!
Yes please !!
Amazing how far Gameboy music has come between Marioland 1 and Pokémon RB
I love how game freak kept the noise channel out so they could use it for sound effects
Square 1 SEEMS mesmerizing.
4:06 That is very similar to MMPR theme, I just noticed now
2:20 is why I came here. I’ve always wanted to hear that bit in isolation. Awesome work, man!
1:48 I just noticed that this part sounds like Diantha's theme
would have liked to hear the intro of the song deconstructed as well. always wondered how it worked
Makes me wonder how the Lavender Town theme from these games would look and sound deconstructed.
Great work, you should do the Fire red version, so complex and beautiful!
no it sucks
Orj can you please make with Professor Layton Theme in Professor Layton and the Curious Village ?
Might be the only version of this song on YT withiut that weird reverb effect... 😅
Poké Floats!
Yooooooo !
Thank you so much !
I owned pokemon blue as a kid and man the gameboy sounds were just so cool

Gym leader battle theme pls
Most of Pokemon Red & Blue's soundtrack was heavily-inspired by classical music, which barely had drums.
Porjkemon Red and Blue
You missed an opportunity to only play Square 2 and Wave, the "Low Health" version of the song.
AYOOO THIS IS EPIC
The fact that the anime showed up before the game made me confused.
Orj I want talk with you
Wow, I could swear gen 1 used 4 bits for music, but I guess not.
Hello sho
!
