Heya, got a lot of people asking about the franchise nuzlocke with no repeats, just wanted to let you all know that it's not cancelled, I just find Gen 7 to be a really big ol' slog and I haven't brought myself to play it. Not looking forward to playing 4 Alola games back to back lol
Not fun to do 4 back to back, but what if you break it up with 2 other games, like a Yugioh and a Beyblade or Bakugan game? Or the common option of another pokemon game.
I know you talked recently about how burnt out you’ve been and how exhausting the constant nuzlockes have been, but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the effort you put into your videos. I genuinely get excited when I see you’ve got new content and love all of the videos. Thanks for putting out such solid stuff!
Tiksi is a real life arctic research facility in northern Siberia. It's not so much that the researcher was almost sent to another region, but that he was almost sent to a tiny town in the middle of literally nowhere within the arctic circle. Probably not the most desirable place to get relocated to.
Fun fact! During gen 1, pokemon was actually supposed to be set in our world. Kanto is a real part of Japan, and the Tiksi branch the employee mentions would be in Tiksi, Russia!
It’s honestly amazing how much you’ve slimmed down since I first started watching you. It’s incredible and it’s great to see you take care of yourself. Keep up the amazing videos too✊🏾😁
Tiksi is an actual place in Russia, the joke is that this worker is being sent to a frozen wasteland. Remember in gen 1, the pokemon world is basically just the real world but with pokemon in it
12:30 Man, I miss the _old_ Surge, back when it was seventy percent sugar twenty-nine percent caffeine and one percent food coloring by volume. Me and my best friend would drink that stuff all day and run ourselves tired by night. Then they puled it from shelves and brought out the new and current recipe that wasn't diabetes in a can more so than any other "soft" drink. It's just not the same. And isn't really sold in most places around here. 15:26 It'd probably be a town and not a region, with the region itself being Russia themed in some manner. Thanks for the video!
15:23 The "Tiksi Region" doesn't exist lol. If you read the follow up dialogue on that Scientist after the battle he says "Tiksi branch? It's in Russian no-man's-land!" The dialogue is referring to Tiksi, a small town in Russia, a real world location. It's not the only time real world geography is mentioned in gen 1 either, with mentions of Mew being discovered in South America and such.
I really really love your layout of your Pokémon and death counter and all that jazz. It’s just so nice to look at. 😭❤️ I appreciate you changing the colors to match the game(s) you’re playing. Your content is top tier and you’ve got jokes which I love. Also just skip the sun and moon games I’m sure no one will miss them lol
There was an enjoyable increase in chaos this video which def helps to break up the sorta cookie cutter aspect of these nuzlocke runs. I say, whatever hasn't been done that you could do a weird spin on to maybe get around an otherwise impossible challenge, so long as it's a game and challenge you'd enjoy doing. Flygon recently did a "Seel Team 6" run which was quite cute and fun so perhaps do a less conventional take on your next nuzlockes to rejeuvenate your love and energy for the games. I don't blame you for avoiding Alola, I couldn't get myself through Island 2 of my Sun nuzlocke. It just sits there collecting dust sadly. So much grinding and bs story making an otherise really solid game unfun to deal with.
Tiksi is an actual town in Siberia on the Arctic coast near the Lena River delta. Apparently the Soviets did a fair bit of military construction there. And according to Wikipedia, it is the northernmost human settlement in the world to have more than 5,000 inhabitants.
THANK YOU!!! I'm so pleased to see that graph, it's very satisfying to see these runs marked as Incomplete that didn't make it to Red. I'm personally excited for Fire type runs in the games with Vulpix in them, especially as its move type diversity and status coverage helps in later generations. Good luck with all this, and glad you're feeling better!
About the Tiksi branch of Silph Co... if you talk to him after you beat him, he tells you it's in "Russian no-man's land." I looked it up, and Tiksi is indeed a real place in Russia. It's another one of those moments in Kanto games where they drop info that means this is all taking place on Earth, kind of like the diary entries in the mansion about finding Mew in South America. Of course, they stopped trying to drop those bits of info in every region since, because to have the world of Pokemon be the same as Earth makes no sense and is dumb.
Exhibit A for why Bolt-Beam is just such a classic heavy hitting special moveset lmao, especially when you supplement it with even more like you did here.
Starmie seems to be based on a stylized starfish such as the purple sea star (due to its color), the sunflower sea star (due to its many arms) or the Hefferman's starfish (due to its color and central pattern, especially in the shiny form). Like Starmie, many real starfish have the ability to regenerate lost body parts. Given its ties to outer space and ability to emit light, it may also be based on literal stars and meteors. It is also reminiscent of ornate jewelry, with its central core resembling a faceted gem mounted inside a golden prong setting. The standard color of its gem resembles a ruby, while its Shiny color resembles a sapphire. Its tendency to rapidly spin its body is reminiscent of shuriken and propellers.
This was my first Nuzlocke... Raticate is a terror as you go, and the fact that hyper fang is available for Brock makes this a relatively easy challenge... Grats though on doing this
Honestly, I think the gen 1-2 games having few is kind of understandable. A lot of the hardcore nuzlockers just don't play those games in general. The new and usually improved versions (HGSS and FRLG) have more quality of life improvements, and doing the same run between FRLG and R/B/Y is mostly trivial, since its almost the same game, in terms of the teams you fight. LGPE and PLA are also not very "nuzlocke friendly". LGPE is very much an easy game, even amongst pokemon games, so applying hardcore nuzlocke rules is kind of weird for it, and PLA has substantially fewer battles than any other mainline game.
The rival 6 regular potion is *not* because he uses the rival 1A AI. He actually shares his AI with rivals 3, 4, and 5 (good AI + can use potion). The rival 1, 1A, and 2 AI can’t use any items, and is not good AI. Rival 7 has his own AI routine.
The stat experience doesn't cap at 25, but 63 ❤️ All 6 stats can hypothetically be as boosted as a perfectly boosted stat in Emerald. Making it insanely broken. To put it into context, Spinda has 60 stats across the board, so it's like an extra spinda on top of every pokemon.
Not sure what you mean, isn't 2560 points 1 stat point? How is it distributed if you're able to get 63 points? Somebody needs to update the goddamn effort values article on Bulbapedia!

Actually that line about the "Tiksi Branch" is in reference to a real world location in Russia, similar to Raichu's pokedex entry mentioning Indian elephants it's one of those weird real world references that gen 1 has
Fantastix run as always sir. A run not done yet could be the gs poison run. While the poison type isnt the best in gen 2, it would be an interestinf run with the gen 1 and 2 poison types mostly in johto. Unless you can find a way of beating it nuzlocking BD/SP with Rock types is impossible because of Gardenia. I tried doing a simple monotype run but I couldn't get past her
15:20 I just remembered two weird things that could’ve had some influence and another wild bit of speculation about gen 2 So first of all, I believe Tiski is a reference to a place in Russia. The early map of Spaceworld 97 was of course similar to Japan, and part of Japan actually was owned by Russia, so maybe there was some kind of postgame area based on it, if not just Sakhalin. It’s unlikely we will get Russia or China among others in a Pokémon game due to the obvious political climate surrounding those places. Something that’s likely either a very weird coincidence or a strange reference is the fact that the Battle Tower resides within the equivalent of Sakhalin in Sinnoh, and within the beta of Gen 1, it’s revealed that there was a Battle Tower within Silph Co, with the reward being an area with grass that Mewtwo can be found in (as with other legends, with the only other differing location being Moltres in Cerulean Cave), and in the Battle tower in SWSH, you can be rewarded with a manmade legendary, Type Null Speaking of the beta of generation 2, it almost feels like a region based on the US was planned, as not only is it referenced in Gen 1, but the first Pokémon in the 98 build is inspired by the Native American Kokopelli (although it’s unknown if it’s in chronological order, and if some are missing as there’s a large gap between gen 1 and these scrapped ones), which became a Pokémon that would become the final version of Celebi. Additionally, the first recognizable line was Xatu’s line. I have my own theories, like that the Kokopelli legend was meant to represent the breeding mechanic being based on a fertility deity, or was related to the Unown. I hope we can find out more, if more exists, but we may never know.
Hey Chaotic - haven't seen your face for a while so that was a nice addition in this video! Wanted to say that you've lost a decent amount of weight since the last I saw you and you're looking good for it so keep it up bro! P.S I like your hair long but you need some facial hair to go with it! as always I love the attention to detail in your content so much and recognise the efforts you must go to with editing so wanted to let you know it's very much appreciated!
I've done a bug monotype in yellow and it's quite unconsistant. Scyzer substituye to abuss AI sword dande and hiper Bean if you miss too many the run is over
It's harder in Yellow due to less options. The Weedle line isn't in Yellow. You'd be stuck with Butterfree for a long time and keeping it alive can be a challenge with nothing to switch into.
I'd definitely be interested in the Dragon runs for the first 2 Gens. Dragon is kind of an afterthought in Gen 1 and only barely exists in Gen 2 while still being kind of bad, so it'd be interesting to see how that would pan out.
Dragon would be near impossible to do under Hardcore Nuzlocke rules. Ghost wouldn't be given Ghost types hard wall the early-game due to pretty much everything only having Normal moves as well as having Night Shade to do consistent damage. Both of these of course would require you to manipulate your starter. Not to mention both types in Gen 1 only have one evolution line so you'd pretty much be doing a solo run due to dupes clause or ignore dupes clause so you can get a second encounter.
I feel like you should try playing without ev/stat xp grinding just to make it a bit more difficult and I feel like it’d make for better content so you’re not just steam rolling through everything
Even WITH over leveling most normal types besides Snorlax IMHO aren't worth it or at least NOT with NORMAL moves only and can't damage ghosts WITHOUT TM use heck even Chansey may be a HP tank but its LV up moves nearly all of them suck.

I want to see the series of Nuzlockes from all the gens finished. It has been a great series of videos.
I'll get around to it!
Ayo meatball, thanks for signing my mat at YCS vegas... AGAIN
I hope for Sun and Moon nuzlocke! Its been 2 months since Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire
>Picks pokemon blue for the extra encounter
>Doesn't use it
Oh my god you had me dying laughing at 2:13 after I saw the reaction on the bottom right corner and I immediately thought “MISTER BEAST!!!!”
Actually there is surge zero, they happen to have some in the coke machines in Burger King!
I feel like you should try playing without ev/stat xp grinding just to make it a bit more difficult and I feel like it’d make for better content so you’re not just steam rolling through everything
Long time lurker but loved the rock tunnel bit!
we should just call this the clefable only run
Wigglytuff is my favorite! 💕
The Rock Tunnel bit legitimately made me burst out laughing ong
Also this is the comment telling you how bad you are: not.
Just played Let’s Go Eevee and Clefable was an absolutely broken mon. I had no idea growing up it was so good.
That's the power power of Fairy typing, which didn't exist yet in gen 1. ;3
Yo, great video. I rly like that format.
Even WITH over leveling most normal types besides Snorlax IMHO aren't worth it or at least NOT with NORMAL moves only and can't damage ghosts WITHOUT TM use heck even Chansey may be a HP tank but its LV up moves nearly all of them suck.
