In order to get the most accurate sound for the samples, you can: 1. find the original samples from the Roland SC-8850 sampled at 32KHz to get high quality instruments, or 2. Make a sound accurate to the GBA by removing the sample filtering and have the DAC output at 8KHz.

Not really related, but, inexplicably, NSMBU's rendition of the desert theme added two extra notes to the end of the song for the sitar to play, and that's it.
