@GameDeath that's what's up! Yea I've always had a love for Gen 1 over all others. Currently, I'm trying to Max out every Gen 1 game. So, for each game(Yellow, Blue, Red, and Green if I can ever find one) I'm looking to acquire all 151 Pokémon, maxing out every purchasable item in game, then training each individual Pokémon to lvl 100(no cheats or rare candies, just battle after battle), and finally maxing out Poké dollars to complete the game. After Gen 1 is finished, I will do the same for Gen 2 and then I'll be happy lol.
@Amfibios yea man it's taking awhile, especially not using cheats and hacks and doing everything manually battle by battle, but I love it. I don't remember what month I started this year, but I'm starting with Yellow and I've already got all purchasable items maxed(besides the game corner and tms in celadon market), and 34 Pokémon at lvl 100. Another classic one I loved is to catch an M Missingno in Red/Blue, teach it fly, give it a rare candy so it evolves into Kangaskhan and won't corrupt the game data if you save, then transfer it over to GSC
@SiliconemoldshopDE you didn't accidentally follow the steps for this. You either did it or didn't. You had to put it in a box, save, then change box and as it changed it would save again. You'd then close when it was saving the second time.
I discovered a very similar trick you could do with the silver, crystal and gold games. It can be done with the cloning trick. Discovered it back in 2000. Was such a helpful trick
I disagree. Only STAB would be surf and his special isn't the high stat. Charizard gets access to slash which crits 100% of the time even without STAB. plus he gets stab fly and flamethrower. You can throw dig in there for coverage if you'd want. His high stat was speed which means he crits all the time even outside of slash. Outside of Charizard there's only a couple of fire pokemon. Outside of Squirtle there's better water Pokemon with gyarados and starmie. You're also better off giving ice.beam to a faster pokemon so they can 1 hit that Dragonite before it takes a turn.

This isn't true (at least not in every case). I've just done it on red. The only slightly annoying thing is they don't appear in the Pokédex, and because of the different trainer ID they're treated like traded Pokémon so they soon don't listen to you.. although get boosted exp too.

@@cjbakalukits very well known how you can clone pokemon in gsc. The trick to get all starters in gsc was to make the origin save at starter choosing and catch a random wild mon asap
Usually, when you clone, you save just before the cloning. Getting all starters has you talk to mr. Pokemon three times and catch 2 random mons to have in team
Things to consider 1. You can keep doing this for a full set of 2 (or 6 Squirts) 2. The first two starters count as "traded" due to the ID mismatch (don't let them eclipse your badges) 3. The Rivals mon will be the Pokémon good against whoever you pick LAST. Plan accordingly.
This does not work on the original cartridge games. I tried it several times on blue version and only got a message saying the data was destroyed and mostly just not working. I did not have charmander on my team when I did get it to work and got to "continue" after resetting instead of the data being destroyed. Is there a trick to this or something or is it only possible on emulators?
Ive been trying to get this to work on cartridge without success but theoretically, it should be able to work - if your data is getting corrupted you're likely resetting too soon, and if you can continue with the save and you don't have any Pokémon in your party you're resetting too late. these kinda of glitches are usually frame perfect and difficult to do without a LOT of attempts, kinda like the bad clone glitch in gen 2. good luck! EDIT: i just managed to do this on cartridge today, so it definitely does work on cartridge!! it did take quite a few tries but you have to reset right when the 'yes/no' text box disappears when you are saving on the new save file, without the larger text box changing it's text. id also recommend erasing your old save file before starting to attempt this glitch in case it effects the process (i know it can do with the gold/silver/crystal bad clone glitch so i'd just play it safe with this one too)
@@ohmhasmeaning7292 it's got nothing to do with the age of the components, these glitches have been the same ever since the games released with the same tricky difficulty. components have some influence but age isn't really a factor (except for with the battery i guess, but then you just wouldn't be able to save at all). i personally don't really understand all the technical stuff behind it but a lot of save corruption glitches will, as the name suggests, corrupt your save file. you're just aiming for the intended corruption (carrying over the party from the previous save) instead of the completely garbled corruption (which makes the save unplayable). sorry for the long reply, just very passionate about Pokémon glitches!

that dude is overrated, but extremely powerfull.... never doubt on bulbasaur
I like how on the party view, Bulbasaur is just a mean looking Flower and Squirtle is a Blob with eyes.😂🤣😂
Blue taking Charmander not knowing I secretly have a Squirtle from a past dimension
Once Pokemon stadium came out, I just used that and the transfer pak accessory. Another way was to get a friend to hold your starters while you start the game over.
Nostalgic mind blown ❤️
I always forget bulbasaur looks like a pissed off pee shooter from pvz when in the inventory
I thought it's VSauce for a second there.
This is how Red gets all the starters when you battle him in Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal😂
Professor oak having a dementia attack as he sees the same multi-dimensional kid steal his shit for the third time: "What...what in the mukking muk is happening right now!"
I think this is the first video of this kind that I've come across that is actually good. Usually, people show things that everyone already knows.
That wasn't a childhood, I miss that time so incredibly much 😢
Edit: While the following denotes a glitch that can actually happen in gen 1, I was mistaken in that it happens when you do this particular glitch. Guess I should test things before I comment, huh?
WARNING
If you try to deliver Oak's Parcel after doing this, the game won't let you progress because Oak will just check your Pokédex. The game assumes that, since you have more than one Pokémon, you were able to catch one. And since that's not possible until after delivering the parcel, you're gonna be stuck in Pallet and Viridian. I'm not even sure if you can trade them out at that point
Interesting.. Of course there is a way to get the starters, Brock through walls/ slowpoke glitch
This isn't true (at least not in every case). I've just done it on red. The only slightly annoying thing is they don't appear in the Pokédex, and because of the different trainer ID they're treated like traded Pokémon so they soon don't listen to you.. although get boosted exp too.
@@hooky91 Oh, if they don't appear in the dex it's fine. The glitch only happens when a second mon is registered in the dex
You just blew my neanderthal mind
In 2024 it’s called creating legal Pokémon in pkhex
I can’t imagine how invincible I would have felt if I knew this 25 years ago
When was this discovered? It would have been so helpful back in the 90s
Believe it or not this cheat was out back then too
From the look of things, it's likely your first two have different trainer IDs. Would make things difficult, they won't listen above certain levels.
That's why you beat them into submission
Yoo he gave the bulbasaur the sane nickname as me XD
This is awesome!! I should try this, the next time I boot up Red or Blue.
Aww I forgot that the Pokémon in the menu looked nothing like the actual Pokémon. How nostalgic.
Fun thing. When you do it, Gary ALSO has all the starters!
Actually?!
Hahahaha not bad 😂
God
True or just joking lol
for the people who want to know, he's just joking.... Gary will only got one starter..... but the bad part is that the caracked starter will always disobey you
Very similar to the Gen 2 cloning trick, used that a lot in school before it was fixed in Crystal.
This one was much less known, though.
I actually knew this back in the day. It was such a fun thing to do.
no way... THATS INSANE!!!!
Crazy right !!
I did not work I saved as soon as I got my starter but the game did not save what am I doing wrong
I knew about this in GSC, but i didn't know it was also possible in RB! Awesome!
Wait its possible in gen 2?
@@cjbakalukits very well known how you can clone pokemon in gsc. The trick to get all starters in gsc was to make the origin save at starter choosing and catch a random wild mon asap
Usually, when you clone, you save just before the cloning. Getting all starters has you talk to mr. Pokemon three times and catch 2 random mons to have in team
Gary boutta get his ash whooped
Things to consider
1. You can keep doing this for a full set of 2 (or 6 Squirts)
2. The first two starters count as "traded" due to the ID mismatch (don't let them eclipse your badges)
3. The Rivals mon will be the Pokémon good against whoever you pick LAST. Plan accordingly.
25 years later and ppl are still finding new hacks . I love it
This does not work on the original cartridge games. I tried it several times on blue version and only got a message saying the data was destroyed and mostly just not working. I did not have charmander on my team when I did get it to work and got to "continue" after resetting instead of the data being destroyed. Is there a trick to this or something or is it only possible on emulators?
Can confirm this didn't work for me also on the old GBC with Pokemon Red, just corrupts game file sadly.
Ive been trying to get this to work on cartridge without success but theoretically, it should be able to work - if your data is getting corrupted you're likely resetting too soon, and if you can continue with the save and you don't have any Pokémon in your party you're resetting too late. these kinda of glitches are usually frame perfect and difficult to do without a LOT of attempts, kinda like the bad clone glitch in gen 2. good luck!
EDIT: i just managed to do this on cartridge today, so it definitely does work on cartridge!! it did take quite a few tries but you have to reset right when the 'yes/no' text box disappears when you are saving on the new save file, without the larger text box changing it's text. id also recommend erasing your old save file before starting to attempt this glitch in case it effects the process (i know it can do with the gold/silver/crystal bad clone glitch so i'd just play it safe with this one too)
I feel like in 2023 if it damaged the same data its because of aged components in the cartridge @@SheepWolfe
I hav tried this on a CGB-001 with original pokemon blue. Cant get it to work, no corrupted file but just saves. Anyone know if by "reset" he means a power cycle or using A+B+Select+start soft reset.
It’s crazy how far pokemon has come, I have played every main series game except, Sun and Moon and sword and shield 🔥
Instructions unclear, i now have 473 bulbasaurs

Vinny: "Here's a complicated way to get all three Starters!"
Me with my Gameshark: "huh....neat."
I remember doing similar on gen 2 involving the pokebox, after I got the 3 starters, I realized chik wasn’t gonna get used…love the Pokémon, hate the original moveset 😅
Having a brother with blue while you have red also works, too. Link cable, baby.
I wish I knew this in 1998 ;-;
I used to always get a new game with a friend and do trades to get each starter
That will be so Good if well i remember the Game softlocks to have more than one pokemon before the Pokedex i think
I loved getting the level 100 Nidoking in red (Nidoqueen in blue) by doing a sequence in the viridian forest
