Thank You!!!! i just had my 130 gone over by a Bernina tech. all was well. they included a stitch sample. Beautiful. i tried sewing, the tension was bizarre. i was using old coats & clarks thread. after watching your you tube video, i changed the thread to Mettler. Problem solved. Thank You!!!
Thank you so much! I didn’t even know this was a thing, and I have trouble with my bobbin tension all the time. Great tip about the good quality thread too - had no idea it was so inconsistent.
Hooray for helpful people sharing useful info! Many thanks. A small thing but such a change from stupidity and aggression we’re seeing on telly, in the news...
Sueellen, The belt by the needle plate is the timing belt. It can only be replaced by a Bernina dealer. It is a pretty extensive repair. If you bought it on eBay I would send it back. If you're content with the machine plan on spending between $100-$150 to get that replaced depending on how much your dealer charges. Hope this helps
Tension on aurora 450 is off. Thread rides on top of fabric and can be pulled out easily. I've had the bobbin tension spring replaced and adjusting the upper tension doesn't seem to make any changes. You suggestions are appreciated.
BERNINA BOYS! Can you please advise on a belt size, I need to replace a broken belt? Its a 180 that I purchased online and they said it was serviced which it was not, I started to sew after cleaning it and immediately the lower belt broke and came up through the needle plate slightly, I dont want to take off the old belt until I have the new on in hand due to the fact that I have never changed a Bernina belt, (vikings only till now) can you please help me! maybe even do a video on this project... PLEASE!
Thank you Sir!! What a revelation, 45 years of sewing & I had NO IDEA about this😇
After 50 years of sewing I have never come across such a simple solution for the bobbin, thank you so much.

Me too, I did not know how to test on my 1230. I would turn the screw and check but it was not enough. But I got it just right now. Thanks!
Ahh so simple, I wish I had known that years ago!
This is brilliant - I had no idea about this screw. Thank you so much!
