Lisa, here I am again bc my screen froze with 1010 error message and I needed your help once again to get my 780 sewing. The error 1010 message is scary but then I remembered that you helped me before with the same problem.
Tyf your video. I also cleaned my 780 with your guidance. May God bless you always.
BERNINA MADE TO
CREATE!!!
That means your hook has a problem. Unthread top and bottom. Remove the hook. Check for threads in the hook area. Make sure your flywheel rotated freely. If not, gently rock your flywheel back and forth till it does rotate freely. Oil snd put hook back in. Then rethread to and bottom. (If you cannot get your flywheel to rotate, then you have a BIG jam and will need service.)

Tyf your help. Yes, you were correct! I did all that you instructed and now it's sewing like a dream. God bless you.
Thank you so much for this video. My machine would keep stopping ever 15th stitch. I cleaned it, oiled it vacuumed it and it still kept happening. I have a Artista 640 machine so not new like yours but it worked following your directions. It was the top thread! I didn't put as much tension on it while threading it evidently. I threaded it again the way you said using more tension in my right hand and now it works great! So appreciate your help.
I watched this 3 years after you made it but you helped me unfreeze my screen on my 200.
Thanks so much for posting this!
This was so useful! I had all but given up and resigned myself to taking my 770 in for repair. And then I listened to your hints and repaired the problem myself.A+
the bobbin winder that I thought was an alarm and taking the hook out for cleaning... you made it all seem so easy and not as scary as I thought! thank you!
I was having a meltdown because my screen was frozen! Thank you so much for helping me fix it and my heart rate!🥰
Your straight forward, down to earth, don't panic attitude is so refreshing and reassuring. I work at a Bernina dealership and wish I had a dollar for every frightened phonecall, "I just took my new Bernina out of the box and it's making a funny buzzing sound. What's wrong with it?" Yep, bobbin winder.
It got me when I had my first BERNINA, too🤣🤣
Thank you you saved a trip to Repair for my 880+ I repaired with your help!!! This was so Helpful
Thank you so very much for all your helpful tips. I just knew my new machine was testing my patience on purpose. You gave me serenity!
You have just restored my faith in "everything" sewing. I’ve owned my Bernina 570 QE for 5 years and I cannot tell you the trouble I’ve had right from the get go threading this machine successfully, I went back to the shop several times and the lass would thread it several times and it was fine, I’d change the colour of the cotton at home and bang I couldn’t get it to work, which means I can only sew around 10 stitches before the machine stops so I clear it and sew another 10 stitches and so on. I’ve pieced quilts and sewn garments limping along like this!
My daughter and I pulled off the front cover and because she had had some success on more occasions than I did we delved deeper looking for why. We threaded it and saw the little spring/coil thingy and knew it was a sensor issue - I wish the lass in the shop had said there was a sensor, after several visits she gave up on me and said some machines are more sensitive than others and mine was one of them. NOW thanks to you I know HOW to get the thread through the sensor, I love everything else about my Bernina except for this threading issue, so when I say thank you, please imagine me bowing at you feet with gratitude. Thank you, I love your direct commonsense approach to fixing problems this home sewist had.
Oh my goodness!!! I’m so glad to have been of assistance! Please try to enjoy that machine…it honestly is a trooper!
@@QuiltingInTheValley I’m going to thoroughly enjoy it now - followed you advice and it threaded through the sensor first time. Thank you again.
Thank you I had the buzzing sound when I turned it on I had no idea that it would do make that sound if the bobbin winder was on. You save me as I’m doing an urgent sewing job for a friend!
Thank you very much! I'm the happy new owner of a secondhand B710 and these tips are brilliant!
THANK YOU! You saved my day. My machine was humming, but not running, and your vid told me I’d left the bobbin winder button on. Thank you so much!
Excellent!
One of the best videos I have seen on Bernina. I am new to Bernina and have watched many videos. Great info provided. I have bookmarked this one as a rescue video for any future issues
Thanks!!
Great instructional video! This is wonderful information that you are sharing with all of us. Please continue!!!!😎
Was so useful! The other times i would driving to shop to see what is wrong but with you all i do do was calm now and go through the steps! It was also nice to see you have the Tula too! thank you!
Had just finished cleaning and oilng - when the 1010 came up - you explanationi was so clear and helpful... thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much!!!! Your video was soooo helpful and saved me a trip and precious time to take my machine to the Bernina dealer. I fixed the problem myself thanks to you.
Awesome video! I searched and searched and she showed us stuff that wasn’t anywhere else online like the reset !
Thank you for doing this!
Thank you very much for your videos which have helped me tremendously! The video on the bobbin winder causing the humming noise my husband and I heard really helped bc we were dumbfounded! I really thought I needed to take my Bernina in for servicing. Thank you once again! Kathleen
I think your two button hold down fixed my USB issue. Great tips to review. Thanks!
Thank you so much. I just had the screw come out of the foot as you described. Such a relief to find out that its no drama. I love my Bernina 770.
Thank you! The instruction on how to use the threader helps immensely! I normally don't use the threader because I get so frustrated because it doesn't thread! Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video. My machine locked up and sat at the repair shop for 6 weeks. When I called they hadn’t even looked at it, were so backed up and said it was going to be another 6 weeks at least. I picked up my machine. Did this troubleshooting. Found a bunch of lint caught in the bobbin race. And woo hoo I’m back sewing on my machine again.
Wonderful!!!
I really appreciated this video! I was getting the “two gears” main motor not running error and your tips on the threading fixed my issue. I just opened my box today and hadn’t gotten ONE STITCH in when that error came up-!! Your video gave me the confidence to undo the bobbin area all the way and then I redid the thread as you showed with TWO hands! That fixed it! Woo! Thank you!!!!!!
OMG!! My screen had frozen on my brand new machine...'Oh no! I got a lemon!!' Followed your directions to recalibrate the screen, all is well- WHEW!! THANK YOU!!!
This was so incredibly helpful!!! This is my first Bernina and I have been struggling with 2 of these issues so thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video. I thought I had to go to the store to fix my machine. I was making a Halloween gift for my grandson. I was afraid I wouldn't get it to him in time. I saw your video on the flywheel. There was a little thread caught where you showed. And you taught me how to clean it and put the flywheel back. My project is completed now!
Super helpful info! This new Bernini owner is very thankful 🥰🙌🏻
Best wishes from a Bernina Quilter from Germany. Your tips just saved me to drive to my dealer one hour away. Had the error 1010. Wheel and bobbin was blocked. With a little pressure I could take out the bobbin and clean it from a little piece of thread.
Thank you so much for this video! I found it while searching for an explanation as to why my Bernina 790 was suddenly buzzing non-stop and the bobbin icon was spinning. I was relieved to hear that the solution was so simple (but no where to be found in my manual). Thanks for saving me an unnecessary (and expensive!) trip to have it repaired.
Lisa, I find your videos super helpful. You're an excellent instructor, and know the right things to say to make people learning their machine understand how are machine works, how to navigate through the buttons, and the reason why you have to do certain things in a sequence. Your videos are filmed nice and clear, with close up views, especially this one. I have a new Bernina 590, attended the guide classes, but still learning. Thanks for all your tips! I've subscribed to your channel and am now going through the Bernina mastery videos.
Thank you!!
Thank you,Thank you!!!! Your calmness and no stress, helped me to think I can do it and did! I was so afraid to touch any thing on my brand new machine ! So grateful!!!!!!!!
I agree with this! You also do not make people new to the machine (or sewing for that matter) feel like they should know this or that they're stupid. Plain, calm and reassuring. Thnx for the vid!
Thank you so much, I have an Activa 125 machine, a much older machine but followed your instructions for the 10/10 message (don't get that message on this machine but it described the issue) opened it up and found the hidden thick thread stuck on the sides which was blocking the bobbin from moving. Really needed to finish a project and was so aggravated that I had to stop and bring it in for repair. You saved my day, thank you!
OMG thank you. I got a 230 from my mom when she passed. I have been trying to hook it up and use I for like 2 yrs. You helped me so much. I was gonna cry lol Thank you :)
Love how you presented these fixes. Hope you do more videos. Not having a manual is so frustrating. Everything is online - so much more challenging. Thank you.
Thanks, will do!
Thank you for all your help!
I absolutely adore you. Just brought a B435 and stuffed up the bobbin housing and i also couldn’t use the threader. With this video i got everything back up and running. Your trouble shooting tips are so useful
Thanks!!! Glad it helped😉
Awesome, thank you. New machine owner today, soooooo excited.
Thank you so much was using my machine this afternoon when I found a screw in the material I was machining I have searched and searched put my machine through it’s paces and couldn’t find where it came from or anything wrong in desperation started scrolling through tube and found you say no more just thank you very useful and informative video
Thank you for your video! It’s very helpful for the new-user.
Oh my gosh thank you so much I searched because I had a number 1010 and you are a savior.
Thank you so much!!!!!! You saved me right before Christmas!
Thank you, thank you!! My B570QE had a major problem last evening. It would sew. I had a hunch there was thread down deep near the bobbin but I couldn't figure out how to get there. I didn't realize I could remove the "holder" around the bobbin case - sure enough, there was a huge wad of thread, wound tightly into a little ball. Once I removed that, put it back together, re-threaded the machine (for good measure!), it works perfectly!!!
Congratulations on a great video!
You just saved my weekend with my new 590! Thank you!
Great to hear!
Yep - I called about the noise my bobbin winder was making. It was a new machine and I was scared. I felt like such a goober when they told me what was causing the noise! LOL. Great video. Your common sense approach is awesome!
Thank you sooooooooo much! I’ve just bought the 570QE 😍
You are a life saver 👏🏽 thank you for this video!
Thank you so much for these tips. With the first two or three, i was like “Yep! Yep!” Been there. Done that! Freaked out with the bobbin arm roar. Bout had a heart attack. Thought my machine was messed up! 😂 thank you for your help! Please do more of these. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for this great video! I watched it yesterday because I was having a BSR problem (which wasn't in the video, but that's OK) but then, today, I was doing some sewing and suddenly the front buttons stopped responding to my touch. Geesh. But I remembered your tip on how to resolve this and it worked like a charm! Thanks again.
Glad it helped!
Thank you! Thank you! I really needed this. So helpful.
OMG!! Thank you sooo much! This is amazing. You have a new fan.
Glad it helped!!
Excellent. Must see video for all Bernina owners.
I just spent almost three hours trouble shooting what I now know was a hook issue thanks to you! I learned how to correctly put the hook back in & I found the little piece of thread in the hook & now I am able to sew again! Thank you!
🎆
Oh my goodness thank you! There was a NEST of threads behind the hook thing!😮 and I used the opportunity to oil where you said. 💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏
I love your videos , I will save this one because it takes me about 5 minutes to put the hook in. Also your'e funny and I love that. Thank you for your Channel, and I'm a very happy subscriber..
Great video, wish my dealer and his staff knew these fixes. If they do, they are not forthcoming with it.
Just bought a 570qe & my first computerised machine (had 830 mechanical Bernina which was my mother-in-law’s purchased in 1974 & has been an incredible workhorse). Thank you so much, really useful video. Not sure, if I’m the only one but I find the official Bernina videos too fast - by the time I’ve read the written bit & see what the arrow is pointing too it’s gone onto something else.
This is came in so handy tonight...that pesky 1010! Thank you.
YOU my dear are a life saver! I had a frozen screen. You were able to make me laugh at myself. By doing what you said to do in this situation I was able to fix the issue. Ber"NINA" is very happy now and so am I! I am going to grab a cocktail and stay away from my sewing machine tonight before another frustrating issue pops up. Thanks again!!
Happy days are ahead for you and Nina!
Thank you so so much. I thought i was in for a very expensive visit to the Bernina shop! God bless you!
Very informative. Thank you. I have the 880 Plus and I am always looking up info on the machine from videos on line.
Thankyou so much for this.I have only had my 770 4 days and have managed to frighten myself with it freezing twice. And couldn’t work out what to do. Fixed now
We found you looking for Bernina answers and love the tips. BUT, please please please tell me about the adorable quilt behind you!!!
It was from Windham Fabrics, and called Going Places. Cute fabric line!
THANK YOU!!!! This was sooooo helpful!
This was so helpful. Thank you.
Thank you for the information I was looking for..
This was super helpful! I just got my B480 back from a service and there was a weird clicking noise coming from the bobbin area. I removed the hook and everything and replaced it per your instructions and that resolved the clicking.
I think I love you! The last thing I wanted to do was bring my machine in during a pandemic. That is, assuming repair people are even taking in machines. I'm new at sewing and there's SO much to learn. I saved your video to my UA-cam "Bernina and tutorials" folder. I'll also share a link to this on the Bernina 7 Series group. Thanks for providing some giggles and a ton of relief!
Well thanks!!!! Hope your B Baby is behaving!
@@QuiltingInTheValley unfortunately, it isn't. I found a tiny ball of thread right where you said to look. I thought my problems were over, but my BSR is still acting up. I get a small nest underneath. I'm starting to regret buying this machine. It's my first computerized one.
No regrets allowed! It’s just the learning curve....you’ll get it! (And we’ve got a BSR video coming!)
I had problems with the BSR too.... surprisingly, I found unplugging the BSR (and using it as a plain open toed foot) made machine quilting way better , more fun and less frustrating. You may want to try that as an option.... Waiting for that BSR Video!!
Brilliant! Thank you for the tips. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Super tips, thank you !!
Thank you, I love this video.
Great information!
EXCELLENT REVIEW AND SUGGESTIONS THANK YOU!
Thank you.... x 100. Your brilliant. Love the video!!
thank you for the tips, I was trying to save an item and the screen locked up, and it took me 4 time's to reboot my 790 plus to get it to save. I hope nothing else is wrong with my machine.
Thank you for your tips
Thanks so much for this video.
Thank you. I'm using my new machine and you helped me solved my problem. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Glad I could help!
thank you. this was great
Th❤nk you. Th❤nk you I’m miles from a shop! You’ve saved me aggravation time and peace of mind.
🙏🏼🥰
Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate you. God bless.
I am LOVING lock down!! So peaceful, quiet and relaxing home alone!! Sewing all day!
Good job 👍
Thanks for the info.
OMG! Saved my life! :)
But overall I don’t love the sound of my bernina!! It looks that I always have thread stucked somewhere, even when I just finished cleaning
A little advice...whenever you have a thread jam: unthread top AND bottom. Clean thoroughly, oil every other bobbin, and always thread top thread with two hands and the foot in the upright position. Things I learned the hard way after I got my first jumbo bobbin BERNINA😉
Thank you, thank you. My screen froze. Nothing in the manual to help, but you did. 🎉❤
Thank you for your video. Very good. I wanted to know about the dreaded 1010 error message. I did everything you mentioned. No luck. So frustrated because the fly wheel would work when everything was out oof the machine (bobbin, bobbin holder, race). The race seemed to be magnetically set into machine fine, but once in, the flywheel wouldn’t turn. In a last ditch effort, when everything was out again, I turned the flywheel 180 degrees so that the pins that the race fits into were now completely turned around. Voila!!!! Everything is working perfectly. I think you talked about this, but I was totally focused on those pins being at 10 and 4 O’clock and not the other things you were saying about setting in the race. Thanks again. No need to take my machine in for servicing.
Now you have the feel for it you will know what to do if it ever happens again!! Success!!!
Thank you so much I’ll be using this a lot no doubt 😜😜😜
Saved me $'s thanks Deb😁
You have given more information than I've been able to find anywhere. I have a Bernina Activa 130 and it has just recently started going out of hook alignment. Had it in shop several times and told he doesn't know what is causing this problem. Would you know? At $160 each time I take it in is getting very expensive. Would appreciate any information you can give me.
Hi! Is the tech telling you that the hook is out of alignment? That is an odd thing to have happen. Is there another tech to take it to? (BTW-our tech does not charge if the problem reoccurs within 90 days of service!). Is it possible that the NEEDLE bar is out of alignment? Have you hit anything with a needle before all this started?
Thanks for clarifying about the mystery screw, though it would be good to add that it has a purpose. It is a set screw, used to secure attachments, like a finger guard, to the foot itself.
Thank you very much!!
Just what I needed...recalibration,!
thank you so much!!!
Thank you!
Hi from France :) Great video and tips ! I am going soon for my 60 birthday to buy a 770 QE+ or a 790+ (I don't have decided yet), but with all the issues I read here, I'm not quite sure to change my Janome for a Bernina !
Virtually all these issues are user error….not actually machine issues! Don’t be afraid of these machines! They are VASTLY superior in strength and stitch quality to a Janome, speaking from personal experience:-)
@@QuiltingInTheValley Thank you for your answer. I hope I won't be disappointed. Are there some series better than others ? A well-known dealer in Europe don"t sale 8 series anymore because of too many issues with them...
I have an 880 and a 790. There aren’t so many issues with the 880, really. It’s a machine that is VERY particular about how you operate it. It will not cooperate if you don’t do what it wants all the time. The 790 is much more lax…you can be more imprecise with it and it still does what it does. Both do beautiful work. I roll say that I prefer the 790, just because I don’t have to be so careful all the time!
@@QuiltingInTheValley I was confirmed this morning by this dealer than Berninas 7 series are very good machines ; so now the question is : 770 QE+ or 790+ ? ;) :D I can't find really what motives the difference of price between both... transversal sewing ? I have to think seriously about it ;) ! thank you for your help
Thank you, thank you THANK YOU!
Thank you! The humming is gone!😂
