Driver Rotation on a Sailrite Ultrafeed Sewing Machine
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 кві 2018
- In this video you’ll learn how to check and correctly set the driver rotation (sometimes called the rotational timing) of your Sailrite Ultrafeed Sewing Machine. Incorrect driver rotation can cause skipped stitches or even prevent the machine from sewing.

What excellent visuals and demo, thank you!!!
I love these industrial machines. So tough and well designed. Must get myself a Sailrite.
I was panicking but you safe my life with this video. I fixed my sewing machine! Thank you.
Thank you very much for your uou tube presentation. It took me three days trying to get the thread pick up. Your explanation and audio visual was all I needed... So greatful to you..From Papua New Guinea in the Asia Pacific Region.
You outdid yourself today Sir, Great explanation....Thank you very much indeed.
Good job I been repairing mc for 55 years and there are different ways to set timing yours is one. Way nice to see your demo a job well done
This is the best video I have seen on setting timing of hook rotation. Very well explained and demonstrated. Thanks a lot
So glad you liked it! Thanks!!!
I'm glad watching your video. It all make sense why I'm having trouble sewing with manual sewing machine.
Glad to help!
Excellent presentation. I've watched so many videos hook assembly (etc) and this by far outweighs them all. Thank you so much! And when you said hook, of course, my brain went into "... check out the hook while my dj revolves it..."
You're an answer to my prayers! Although I'm afraid to take my sewing machine apart.
This is by far one of the best videos i have seen sofar!!!!
Absolutely great!
Thanks so much. You just saved me from 2hrs stress. Whew!!
This is the most helpful video on how to adjust the Grapple. Thank you for that, I've been looking for a good explanation and tutorial for a long time. adjust the Grapple.
Thank You man, You helped me to adjust wife's sewing machine very precisely and now it runs like new ;).
Lol ya "the wife's"😉 I hear ya
You really had a very nice video here! The explanation was very clear and the pictures for close-up and clear also
Do you know how to fix a Singer fashion mate 6160? I need my driver adjusted and there is no repair shop in my area
It was a good video but you did leave something out. Not everyone will be so lucky when they release the set screws that it's aligned. After the set screws are loosened, yes moving the needle back or forward from the hook can be done. But how do you turn it to get that 3/16 space? Where do you put a screwdriver or what????
Hi dears!
Do you have a guide/video how to properly replace and tune both of Presser Bars to achieve appropriate synchronous movement of both of Presser Feet?
Thank you!
Fantastic presentation real basic tip revealed thank you nice video
Thanks soo much after several videos I was able to come across this one and it helped soo much it also saved me alot of money
Should the shuttle be loose inside the shuttle race assembly? Mine is loose and makes clicking noise when sewing. Stitches form fine. The noise bugs me.
Thanks I just followed your video to fix my daughters butterfly machine
Thank you this video helps me to adjust my indastrial sewing machine's timing and pickup thread from the bobbin ..thankyou
Your welcome!
Great video! Had to do this recently on an 8 head TFP machine. Saved my employer money when they didn't have to bring in a technician to do it. I'm always trying to learn as much as I can about the machine to do the repairs and servicing myself. Each time, I become less intimidated and feel more empowered.
Just a suggestion , when you say i.e. " hook point " behind or in front can you point at exactly what you're talking about .
Thanks Matt!. Got me going again on my LSZ-1 after I abused it sewing some 0.40 polycarbonate with 6 layers of Sunbrella.
Glad to help. Not sure that is a good application, polycarbonate, for the Ultrafeed.
@@SailriteDIY It was Makrolon VR. Now known as Tuffak

Great video, helped me fix a home sewing machine
Glad to help!!!
I watched this video because i wanted to see how to put the bobbin stuff back in properly. My needle is hitting something. The needle is in properly, and the needle goes down in ok, without material, but when i try to sew, it won't go down, for it is hitting something, so that means that the mechanism is not put in properly. When you put that thing in, it looks so easy, but when i do it, i can't get it to stay in the right place to put that cover thing on, it slips out. Can you help me?
You’re not alone Miss Linda! I’ve used my machine several years and have done boats, canvas tops, furniture until mine bobbin had to be taken apart. I watched videos over and over and. Recommended my machine to several friends and many got them and are also in our boat. This is the first of any machine I just can’t solve the issue and I’m in the middle of a boat upholstery job I need to finish. If you find the solution, please share it with me. Thanks!
At our factory, they immediately make a transverse cotter pin on the axis of the shaft of the shuttle housing, so as not to suffer with the settings ... A little higher or lower is regulated by the shaft in which the needle . The distance from the hole in the needle to the tip of the shuttle should be 1.5 mm., longitudinal distance from the tip of the shuttle to the needle in the recess 0.2-0.3 mm., adjustable according to the needle number 90
How do you make sure the distance between the needle hole to the tip of the shuttle is correct. Do you insert a shim and rotate the shuttle? Do you have pictures or video of this process?
how close should the driver come to the needle, mine just barely touches the needle but does not deflect it?
Yes, that is perfect left and right timing for the driver. Very close, but not touching.
Superb tutorial. Thanks.
I have a singer fashion mate machine and I don’t see the screws you are talking about. The driver only comes up partially on the left when you turn knob towards you. Do you have a machine similar to mines where you can do a video for me.
Sorry we do not. We only sell Sailrite sewing machines. Call your Singer dealer for help, I hope they have great service like Sailrite does.
Impressive way of elaboration thanx
Thanks!!!
Why my machine(singer 247) shuttle doesn’t rotate? I Tried turning the wheel towards me but still doesn’t spinning. Pls help.
The screws on the drive rod are loose , they may be farther to the right than the allen screws this gentleman loosened and tightened.
Sir meri mission me jo niddle hai na wo bobbin se jake lag rahi hai
just adjusting the crab sews well or something else you have to adjust because you try several and in what type of stitch is made
Hi, just want to find out, is the ultrafeed shuttle Gib hook compatible with that of singer class 15? Or maybe how many parts of the ultrafeed are compatible to that of singer class 15!
I would say it is not, sorry.
Thanks for the lesson.
My machine deep bobbin thing under the bobbin mechanism is not turning at all, and that belt is very oily. I wiped some of the oil off, but what is going on?

Thank you, but while sewing, my sewing machine suddenly makes quite a noise and it seems like the thread is somewhere down caught and then released and the thread is knotty at one place and then it works again. It happens from time to time during sewing.

My hook is pushing my needle and almost breaking it. Any idea how to fix? The machine came in the mail like this (and was obviously returned by someone else) never been used by me. Is it the needle bar height?

Can't loose the driver on my manual machine as there are no screws. Any suggestions?
Sounds like it is not a Sailrite sewing machine. If so, contact the manufacture and ask them about it, we do not know, sorry.
@@SailriteDIY Thank you so much.
I got it fixed already😊
With the zig-zag function, with the right position of the needle, the distance from the nose of the shuttle to the hole in the needle should be 1 mm., This can all be adjusted by moving up and down the needle bar
..i have dsame problem...but may sewing machine is singer 2250..which i cant find the part that you adjust.
Sorry, you will have to contact a Singer dealer for help on that. We do not know that sewing machine.

I have a sailrite fabricator and it's parts do not look the same not enough to identify some critical points in the video.
With the bobbin case removed my assembly is one unit. When I ordered the rotary hook all of the parts you describe came assembled as one unit.
Mine has these parts:
A) ? Has the set screws. Is this the Driver? It has a flat side and I don't know what direction to line the flat side up or down or sideways.
B) Can't identify from your parts in the video.
C) Hook. Rotates inside of A but I don't know which screws release it so it can be removed and A can be set flush. Since I don't know what screws release it I'm afraid to undo screws that other parts might come undone and I'll have more trouble on my hands.
D) Bobbin case - removes
Can you please copy paste the video URL for how to reset this whole assembly on the Fabricator? Your kind help would be extremely appreciated !!!

@@SailriteDIY oh no i own kenmore sewing machine ,
Thanks so much for this video I just subscribe please my mechanic stop morning what do I do? please
Nice sub hulk
Wow
My sewing machine bent a #23 needle at a 45 degree angle! I had to replace a few parts, including the needle. I still think it needs a bit more. Last problem, I bought a spool of thread for $6. It said it was polyester, V138 Sunstop ... Hecho en china ... Now I think my machine hates me! How do I fix my machine to like crappy, made in china, thread? I was just trying to save a few bucks!
If the thread is poorly made, it is always best to toss it, don't try to adjust the sewing machine if you know the thread is not bonded or total junk. Buy thread only from dependable companies like Sailrite.
Don’t be cheap on thread! Sailrite has amazing thread and the prices are great.
I trust no man with super clean finger nails....................
So, that is your standard for evaluation of truth. OK.
