Something important that you don't actually say in this video, is that the position of the needle relative to the hook/crab should be adjusted and set with the needle bar in its furthest right position. The video correctly says to put the machine to the widest zig-zag stitch, but the narration forgets to tell you why you need to do this and that you only adjust with the needle at the farthest right position.
Thanks for the comment. You can see in the video that the zig zag mode must be at maximum. I will add that information to make it more evident. thank you so much.
Great video, I have a Singer Symphonie , seems identical in every way to the Serenade , timing was not correct, easy to fix following this video. Thank you.
This is a great detailed video and very helpful. My timing looks perfect but I'm still having issues. The measurement is also at 15 mm as it should be 😮💨😭
Thank you so much for this detailed video! However after I loosen the two Allen screws at the bottom and pray the crab with lubricant it still does not move.
Hello There, Firstly let me APPRECIATE your efforts, very well narrated and well presented and beautiful video. I liked the video and subscribed your channel because I really liked the way you presented the topic at hand. I encourage you to make more and more such videos and wish you good luck and growth in your endeavours. 😇 Now, for my concern, My machine's crab hook is rubbing onto the needle, would you kindly suggest how to fix this please?? Its position is okay as per this video. Thank you.
Thank you very much for rating my video positively, positive comments are appreciated. If the needle rubs against the crab and the position is correct, it would be necessary to check if the needle is correct for that machine. It would be necessary to check that the crab is correctly adjusted in its housing. With the correct synchronization of needle and crab there should be no friction. It is also important to check the height of the needle.
I loved your video, I hope to see more of them. My Singer has a problem too. I bought a new pedal because I thought the previous one had a problem, but it doesn't move the needle at all, like the previous, do you have any idea what's the problem? The lamp works, but the needle doesn't move with the pedal, only by hand, it's clean, I did everything right.
@@ΠαναγιώταΜανιάτη-λ2ξ Your machine is failing in the electrical part, you would have to check not only the pedal but also the power switch. If the pedal and the switch are fine, you would have to check the electric motor. I'm sorry I can't help you more.
Amazing video but It seems for me even with things loosened the crab does not rotate freely. Its very stiff. I Uploaded 2 of my own videos just now. I bought machine used but it looks new. Really hoping to get it working any tips would be appreciated!

I don't know what's wrong with my machine but It seams to be an issue with the bobbin. I've videoed the problem but can't upload it! It's not producing any stitches and making a rattling noise. I've called quite a few repair shop near me but they won't look at my machine as it's a Singer heavy duty 5523 and it's about 3 yrs old. Can you give me any advise please.
My advice is to disassemble the machine by removing the bottom cover and try to see what is causing the noise, turning it by hand and see what is happening, see if the gears turn well and there is no breakage. You can lubricate the shafts and gears and try ...
5523 is top loading bobbin, same principals of timing apply as the machine in this video but it is harder to see the bobbin hook. Start by removing needle plate and the bobbin to have a better view. Rotate by hand so you can watch what is happening.
Você pode colocar uma agulha nova e verificar seu ajuste conforme mostra o vídeo, para saber se está correta ou não... e se precisa ser ajustada ou não...
You have to remove the bottom cover and see the cause. If the movement transmission is by belt, it may be broken or loose. If it has gears, it may have its adjustment screw loose.
@@suhainapt9305 The solution is to adjust the movement of the needle and the crab, which must be perfectly synchronized. The needle must be in perfect condition and correspond to the machine.
This has helped me twice now. Thank you so much for the detailed video!

This was very a helpful tutorial video that helped me rectify my sewing machine issue. Now I'd just like to know why this happens in the first place.
This happens because the mechanical parts wear out with use or simply because the adjustment screws are not tightened sufficiently.
@@javiery70thank u very much for your response.
Because on wide ZZ the hook timing changes the needle to hook timing because of dancing needle
trying to sew too thick of material, breaking needles, crashing the machine with thread jams in the bobbin area can all cause the timing to slip
I have singer machine. Your video helps me to fix the problem. Thanks a lot.
