Thank you!! You was the only person that I found that did exactly what I looking for. There are many videos explaining that the tent did not permit the raining enter into the tent but none of them did the process of put the tent up under the raining and wind. Such situation can occur easily meanwhile you are walking during the camping seeing the nature itself.
Great effort. Thanks for taking the time to do this *and record it* putting the question to rest by the skeptic “EveryOtherUA-camr”. When I read their comment I couldn’t understand their issue since I imagined it would be done the same way you proved it could. 👍👍 I didn’t search but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did not come back and eat crow publicly.
I have this tent and the first thing I did when I bought it was figure out how to pitch outer first. If you use the footprint it's equally as easy as pitching inner first.
@@KernowCamps in all honesty it doesn't bother me. Set up in the garden and it was so easy to set up and take down. I will one time when I've got time to waste try lol. Other than that I'm the type to wait until the rain has died down before even getting my tent out lol
Loved it, when you first appeared in shorts etc, great touch. Point well n trurely made, in good spirits. Though I did like the friendly 4 pegs, wave, when referring to outer guylines.
Glad you enjoyed it buddy. Shorts and T-shirt was the least fun part of making that vid. Half and hour in a steaming hot shower afterwards and I still couldn’t feel my toes thanks to the choice of footwear!
Great video 😂 & love the tent. Need a bigger wild camping tent than my 1-person OEX Bobcat 1 & I think this could be the one for me, especially as I now know if needed I can pitch outter first lol 😂 Thanks for making this video & hope u soon warmed up 😀
Yes but they have changed the way the outer connects to the poles it clips to four plastic clips on the inner tent which is difficult to illustrate without a picture. Without the inner tent there is no way of securing the outer to the footprint. I think the changed way of securing the outer to the inner is what has led to the confusion.
Hi Derek. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment and clarify the differences between the Naturehike Mongar 2 (as reviewed previously and as featured in this video) and more recent revisions. I truly appreciate it meht. However…. I completely agree that newer revisions do exist and some things have changed that may indeed have led to some confusion, however @Everyotheryoutuber implicitly states that owns “this” tent in the comments of the reviewed version and then goes on to call my knowledge of it BS. I made this video to help him, and other like him own own this particular revision. He placed the burden of proof upon me to show that THIS make, model and revision can indeed be pitched inner OR outer first. If he owns a different revision then really he ought to have checked his owns facts before commenting in the manner in which he did. In the video I did not acknowledge at all that different revisions of this tent exist, because, frankly, neither did he. However I did see an opportunity from his comments to help him, and others who owns this tent and watched my previous review video, be able to do what he claimed was not possible. I like to think that I successfully demonstrated not only how, but the method as stated in my reply to him, was in fact quite accurate. I have typed this concise reply not to seem at all antagonistic (although this is the internet lol) so I truly hope that you are not in anyway offended by the manner in which I have replied bud.
@@KernowCamps Hi, no problem, just wanted to make it clear that some versions are difficult to pitch outer first, I'm going to modify mine so it's easier.
@@derekholcroft I’d love to see the differences and how you modify yours. Feel free to DM me on any of my socials with pics/explanations linktr.ee/keenowcamps
Great vid and I have 2 Mongar 2's one is the 20d and the other is 15d. The 15d you can do it exactly as you have shown but the 20d one has the plastic buckles to attach to the inner. I am going to attach a alloy guy line tensioner to each corner alongside the plastic buckles and hook one of the holes in the tensioner over the pole tip like the the 15d one.
Thank-you for filming this. When you Negative get comments just delete them. Cannot please everyone. So don't take to heart. For me you answered questions I need to make informed choice. I have owned and extensively used 16 different tents in my life (may be forgetting a few). Some were great, some garbage. The monger 2 seems to have thought it thru and com up with a fine tent. No tent will replace your bed at home or a good hotel room, so if you are not prepared to sacrifice some luxury for travel experience, then stay home!😂😊 thank-you for the video...
Cheers Dean. Sometimes rainy camps are the best. The sound of rain beating on the fly, while you sit inside listening, wrapped up warm, drinking a hot coffee or knocking back a spirit of choice. Never limit your experiences, you never know when the opportunity will pass you by.
Hey. Just seen your new video. Hope you keeping ok, you looked like your in shock. I'm a psychiatric nurse, if you need anything let me know. I can't imagine what your going through right now. My thoughts are with you.

Give this man a raise!! Thanks for the demonstration!!
Just bought this tent and pitched it fly first in a torrential thunderstorm. Didn't get a drop of water on me! (I was in my lounge room though).
Damn! I never thought of that!
😂

I would say it’s “as easy” to pitch outer first as inner first, but as I hope I successfully demonstrate in this video, it ain’t hard to do at all!
Thanks for showing how to do the rainfly first pitch on this tent.
Thank you!!!! I've been wondering about that. Yes it is possible!
Great video and love the sarcasm 😀 ive just ordered mine today so I'm currently spending way too much time on UA-cam lol
If you’re ordering now I expect you’ll get the newer version, which as other commenters have stated, is not so simple to pitch inner first 😣

Thanks a lot! I just purchased a mongar 2!
Fantastic! I was wondering if that was possible! Now I know for sure! Well done you!
Also… LOVE the NFL flip flops! Lol Go 49ers!
You handled this brilliantly, great job!
Just trying to help out. Hopefully that’s been accomplished. Thanks for watch John
Thank you)😉😉😉 This is an interesting video and an interesting experience! I have the same tent and I myself wondered how to do it))
I’m really glad you found the video useful. Thank you for watching and commenting.

I thought you could probably do that, now I know. Thanks!
I contacted Naturehike today to see if I can order buckles for the groundsheet so I can make it a fly-only setup.
