Once again another nice looking tent by a nightcap and a Great review great review.
If you can you want to take a look at the ultra light one person trekking pole tent by nightcat you'll be surprised how big it is and how well made, it's 5,000 HSH on the rain cover and amazingly 8,000 HSH on the base.
Also it's less than one kilo in weight one hell of an awesome tent.
Hi mate thanks for checking out my video. Pleased you enjoyed the review. I've now been out on wildcamps in it and it's class !!! I'll be using this alot. ATB Simon
Great review many thanks
Ive pressed subscribe 👍
Great stuff pleased u enjoyed the review and thanks for the sub ATB Simon
Just bought one after watching your review on first inspection it looks good and if it can stand up to the weather in Northumberland ill be happy 🤣
Hi mate thanks for watching......I love this shelter...in fact think I may be out in it tomorrow (again)👍 class shelter. Hope y enjoy it too mate ATB Simon
My first tent ! I bought 2 days ago on ebay from a UK supplier, with discount, £52.00
Amazing 👏 it's a class tent too 👍 thanks for watching ATB Simon
Great review, I ordered the Pop up you reviewed by Night Cat, unfortunately the pop up was out of stock, so they offered me this Night Cat 2 Person Tent and 2 sleep pads, fantastic service, I am now a big fan, keep the vids coming bro.....
Great stuff. Cracking offer mate I love this tent.... used it a few times now and it class. Good company night cat !!!! Thanks for watching pleased u found it useful..ATB Simon
Great review. It seems I've been researching my first wild camping tent forever, but thanks to you and another couple of reviews I've just ordered one of these!
Absolutely class shelter !!! Thanks for watching ATB Simon
The shock cord issue , is as easy as popping some rubber glue in the ends for a few hours before use ,
Sound advice 👍👍👍👍 thanks for watching ATB Simon
Further to my previous comment I've tested it in the back garden. They must have been watching your video because on mine the strap to hold the outer door open is further up than yours and does an excellent job. Mine cost £89.99 but you can get it for ten quid cheaper with old fashioned bendy wire pegs and it's hard to tell from their website but possibly fibre glass poles.
The pockets are poor as I found things slipped out of them as I moved around, and it needs two more pegs to use all the guylines, but overall very happy with my first wild camping tent. Next stop Dartmoor!
That's great !! I had messaged the guys at nughtcat about it so looks like they modified it and made ut better. Pleased you enjoyed it....I love this shelter ! Used it loads. Thanks for watching ATB Simon
Nice tent apart from the gaps at the bottom...would like to see it go all the way to the ground
Yup totally agree !! Other than that I'd say it's great and especially for the price !! Thanks for watching ATB Simon
you can definitely overlook the couple of wee niggles at £78 mate wouldn't want to lump it around on the hills but as a sort of base tent spot on 👍tek it easy si.
Hello Geordie how you doing..... thanks for watching as always mate much appreciated 👍... aye I agree with you there although I've been out up in the hills since this and it weren't too bad tbh.... not great in strong wind mind you but otherwise great bit of kit. Take it easy big lad ATB Simon
If you wrap the guys around the frame before pagging out, it's rock solid. Not huge winds, but have had it out in 40 mph gusts, quiet night, no worries. 🙂@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES
Nice bit of kit, Simon - looks decent!
Mate it's class and especially for the price deffo my go to shelter for a while . Thanks for watching as always much appreciated ATB Simon
I got a green version off Amazon. I agree with your comments, there's a Lot to like. Unfortunately mine leaked along the seams on top. I seam sealed with Seam Grip, but it still leaks. I'm shocked that didn't stop the leak. I really want to like it, but just can't have a leaky tent.
Ah no way !!! Gutted to hear it. Maybe a dodgy unit ? Mine is going strong.... I'm sure they would replace it for you. Ur right tho if it's no good it's no good. Thanks for watching ATB Simon
Please feel free to contact us if there is any quality problem..... Maybe you should have just contacted them - like they ask??.
Is the inner made of mesh fabric?
After doing some research I've discovered this tent is a copy of the 3ful Taiji 2 but at a much cheaper price!!
Yeah a dew people have messaged and said the same thing. They must all be made in the same place and re-branded
Which was the copy....there are about 4 tent v similar????@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES
if you already have this or the 3ful gear version, double pole it and add guy out points on the panels,
Great idea 👍👍👍.... ATB Simon
Nice one mate.
Cheers.
Mick.
Cheers mick much appreciated thanks for watching ATB Simon
@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES no problem Simon.
I enjoyed the video; thanks. I'm wondering how the tent performed on your outing. I've seen a couple other reviews claiming broken poles (thin aluminum and weak), and lousy, saggy pitches. A couple have indicated seam leakage in rain. Your pitch doesn't look bad if not drum tight. Does it stay tight? I always favor a tent that can go up in one piece and keep things dry. This one does that. Did you encounter any wind driven rain? The inner canopy is all mesh which would have me thinking it would be rather chilly in cool weather: definitely not a 4 season tent. I've used an Exped Orion in the past. A great tent; nearly bombproof, having withstood 50mph wind and rain while my partner's REI tent got blown flat. The Orion is just heavy: 7 lbs but it also goes up and down in one piece. The Nightcat does have me intrigued..
I've always found it to be a great shelter. No prob in colder temps either and mostly managed a good pitch ! I've had it in bad weather and it's stood strong. Value for money !! Thanks for watching ATB Simon
thanks for sharing i bought the sil nylon version in the sale
Nice mate class shelter 👍 thanks for watching ATB Simon
I'm returning mine... Which is a shame because the tent has some great features for the money. The Achilles heal of this tent is the shock cord used on the poles.. They are forever popping out! Great video!
That's a shame mate like you say it's hot some great features !. Hope you find a good alternative mate what you looking at ? Thanks for watching ATB Simon
@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES Not sure yet mate... I'm also not keen on the way you are restricted to using only one half of the vestibule areas when sat inside...I like full access... Especially in the rain..
RE shockcord and poles.....I quite like that...easy to repair or change to different cord............
Take up the excess slack in the shock cord then it will stay in & also you should have spare shock cord in your pack
People neglect the hanging straps when waterproofing , make sure you saturate the hanger straps so they don’t wick water ,the most overlooked thing ,been waterproofing tents for 60 yrs
Very nice for the price. 😊
Hi....its a real bargain ! Usually the cheaper stuff is naf but this is class used it a few times now and love it. Thanks for watching much appreciated ATB Simon
Nice little review, thank you.
Very similar, but lighter (and lower HH) than the Vango Torridon, but also a lot cheaper. Would have like the inner zip to go nearly all the way around and into a stuff pocket (a la Vango and many others), so you don't have to keep tying it up/down to keep midges out. But still very tempted by this tent............
Thank you 👍 appreciate u watching. Take your point re the Inner zip . All in all iv used this in a few different locations and conditions and its been great....all for under £80 😳 I think it's a solid offering ATB Simon
Stunning price, trying to resist but will probably fail, lol! Best I can find is £90.......@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES
......yup......failed............
@@lauriebloggs8391you got one huh ?
er, yup though arrives tomorrow hopefully......I'm going to get into trouble now...🙄@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES
Nice one Simon. I’m on the hunt for bigger backpacking tent than the Oex Phoxx II. That looks the job. This could be on the wish list 👍. Ps great in-depth video again. I look forward to the field test with Dan the man.
Hi mate thanks for watching much appreciated 👍👍. Aye I love my phoxx II but this gives so much space !! Possibly not as good in string wind but talk about bang for ya buck. Been out in it a few times now and it'll be my go to shelter for a while ATB Simon
Currently £89.00 om Amazon on 26/10/2023 in UK.
It's cheaper on the nightcat website at £82.... plus you can use my discount by clicking on the link

Thanks for watching much appreciated ATB Simon
Cant gan wrong mate looks spot on, how have you gettin on with it might have to purchase 👍 av got a oex rakoon 2.1 which is class but fancy a change can never have to many units 😅 ATB
Mate iv used it a canny few times now and it's class 👍👍. Been in strong rain and its good. Not used the racoon so can't give an honest comparison but this is bang for ya buck it's budget but good in my opinion. Thanks for watching ATB Simon
@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES cheers mate defo looks the part like, 👍 aye the rakoon is class if you pair it with the expedition tarp it's 1 my favourite setups. ATB bud
great review, thank you
Thank you much appreciated ATB Simon
Is the inner mesh fabric ?
It's mostly mesh and the tub is polyester. Certainly keeps all small bugs out and even midge!. Great airflow too. Thanks for watching ATB Simon
Tent is a bargain for £78 - some additional guy out points would really help stabilise the structure. bang for buck its decent...
Mate it's a bargain belta isn't it.... maybe not great in strong wind but I like it a lot 👍👍👍 see ya soon
I've found that the shock cord on the poles isn't that great...
Agree.... maybe one of the niggles but for the price I think it's sound. Thanks for watching much appreciated ATB Simon
VERY easy to change.....@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES
I'm looking at replacing my old Jack Wolfskin tent for motorcycle packing and this looks like it could fit the bill.
Is it robust enough to pitch every night for maybe 30 nights in a row ?
Hi mate that sounds like one epic adventure!!!👍. Its hard to say tbh.... iv used it a few times now in varying conditions but would it be good for that ? I'm not sure mate tbh. I absolutely rate it but prob not in a position to say it would be perfect for that. I mean I'm sure it would be it's light and spacious and well made but maybe strong winds it would struggle. Thanks for watching ATB Simon
Does anyone know a footprint/ground sheet that fits this tent?
Good question mate I'm not sure but I have messaged nightcat so hopefully I'll be able to let you know 👍👍👍
How did it go on
Used this quite a few times now in different conditions and it's spot on. Maybe not great in very strong winds as I said but overall its a belta 👍
👌
You'd love this one sooty 👍🏴 Thanks for watching as always 😍
Is this tent really waterproof?
Yes absolutely I've had it in sustained heavy rain.
Was wanting the bobcat but it's at 110 at go outdoors . Is this to much for one man
The Bobcat is an awesome 1P shelter. It's worth the money but if you wait I'm sure it'll be back on offer. Keep an eye on blacks online seem to have it at £64 from time to time 👍
@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES il Definitely keep an eye out thank you
Wouldn’t you say this is better than the PHOXX 2
Ermmm....tough call for many reasons but I'd sat the phoxx II is better all round shelter. Smaller mind you but generally better. Thanks for watching ATB Simon
£78, thats crazy talk 😂 what a bargain. I managed to pick up the NatureHike Cloud Peak 2 for £95 all in, there's some bargains out there.
Absolutely crazy isn't it !!! Just goes to show you don't need to spend a fortune!! Wowza the CP2 for 95 ? !!! Unbelievable I love that tent. Thanks for watching ATB Simon
@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES No worries, I'm off to watch a few more 😆 I've also bought a trekking pole tent, the Asta Gear Yun Chuan 2. So I'd like to think I'm covered for early/late season camping and calm mid summer time when I'll use the trekking pole tent (1.2kg) for more multi day walks.
Sorry mate just remember you've already done a review of that tent so ignore my comment well the last part of it anyway lol
🤣👍👍👍 no prob mate aye thats a serious bit of kit used it loads and that weight difference and pack size is class .Thanks again mate ATB Simon 👍
You can't just have the inner on this tent... You can just have the outer
Yup 🤣 realised I'd said that afterwards... doh !
Tent has failed on first use... Stap holding inner to outer snapped whilst pitching... Do not buy...it's junk!!
Speak to nightcat mate I'm sure they will replace 👍
@@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES can't be bothered mate...it's going back to Amazon
@@mrmods7912 aye I get u mate fair enough. Hope you get sommik your happy with 👍
