- Mama wouldn't listen OR eat before I arrived. I got there, and she acted as if nothing happened.

The thing I learned with my grandma is if she said no she wasn’t eating the staff could not make her. So we always had to go in and make sure she ate because we as family could force her.

Can I just give a shoutout to Jesse??? I’m so glad Ms. Norma has you Crystal. I know your story all too well. But I’m even more glad that YOU have Jesse!!! Not only does he allow you the space and time to care for her, but he actively participates in her care with you! My husband walked through the process with me and my mom and can’t imagine not having his HELP in addition to his love and support! Blessings upon you guys ❤
But wait. lol Jesse is my son. William is my husband. But William does allow me the space to care for her and he’s very active with her care. 🥰🥰🥰

Ma’am your mama is not spoiled. She is blessed and loved properly as she should be. I’m quite she she has been a great mother and have showered everyone with lots of love. Now, she’s just getting all the love that she gave y’all. And it’s ok if she is spoiled because she deserves it even tho she be cuttin up sometimes 🤣🤣🤣 just please enjoy her for as long as she’s here. Some of us don’t have mothers anymore 😢. Your are amazing I know how hard it is to care for the elderly. I use to take care of my grandparents and the went on to take care of the brain injuried and it's work.
But when it comes to your mom you are what we call heaven sent. She's not spoiled she's blessed to have such a caring and beautiful daughter like you. Reminded me of my older middle Sister she's been caring for mom ma in her home for years along with holding down a manager job for the postal service. I pray that God just continue to give you the strength,love and patience that you have been doing. I have added your family to.my morning devotions and prayer list every morning. When I stumbled onto your video's I was amazed how attentive, calm, cool and collective you always are. Trust me I know there are good and bad days but you still keep moving like a true champ. Ms Norma is loved. When she behaves any other way she won’t be well. Not spoiled,loved. My Mom died 30 yrs. Ago. I wish she was here for me to spoil her.
So sorry for your loss. My dad has been gone over 30 years and I sure wish he were here. I didn’t get enough time with him AT ALL.

I just have a question. Have you noticed if her taste buds have changed since having dementia. I was wondering if people with dementia if there taste buds have change. Because I know sometimes they forget to eat
I always wonder that myself. She can’t tell me but I assume her taste buds have changed because she used to really season her foods HEAVY. Now, the food at the facility is sometimes bland. She never watched her diet and ate WHATEVER she wanted. Including lots of sugar. When they serve rolls with no butter and she eats it, I’m like…her taste buds MUST be completely changed! lol
My grandmother never liked spaghetti or pizza. When she got dementia she would eat it and say that was good😂.
