My mother also lives in a nursing home, she was never ever sociable, didn’t like mixing with people, would rather stay home, and now she has dementia she walks miles and miles around nursing home every day, it’s part of feeling anxious due to Alzheimer’s disease, they know something is not right so moving constantly helps them cope with that feeling, you’re doing a great job with your mom, all you can do is keep loving them.

You are doing a great job with your mother, don't let anyone tell you your not, or your mom needs this or that. I also took care of my great-grandmother at 107 years old she started having dementia going back into the early 1920?. She was dorn in 1897. Died at 110 years old, but still new what was going on. I would pray in the Holy Spirit, (Tongues) and she would come out of it, her dementia.
Pray and put Christian music on in the room and the word of God on a CD player, start with some old gospel music she may have heard as a child. See if it will help her especially with slowing down a bite and resting. May the good lord Bless you for caring for his child, your mother. 😊

I was the sole caretaker for her before and after this and the things I went through!!! My grandma also had Lewy Body Dementia at the same time whom I saw once a week. She gave my family hell. Bless her heart. understand what you are dealing with. I got set free in 2022 when I put the responsibility in her daughters hands. I lived with her in a small apartment for 7 yrs with little to no help from family or friends. I am glad that you knew it was time to put her in a facility for the well being of all of you. Yes. I worked in the medical field for 22years in the hospital and now from home. My mother is diagnosed with early dementia and my 91 year old dad does pretty well but I see about him as well. My mother got into her 2nd car crash within 2 years in December 2023 and totaled very nice cars. All in her own driveway and crashing into her neighbor’s home. Fracturing her back in 2 places. Both my parents have always been very independent. My mother is done with driving and has inherited an Uber driver(me)😊. I love watching these dementia UA-camrs because it makes me laugh, smile and yes cry because I too understand.

My family is going through this with my 96 years old grandmother. She is at the stage where she is just staring ahead, she's not talking anymore, and she barely eats or sleeps. My aunt has to feed her now. She was doing okay until last week. She fell and it went downhill from there. God bless you and your mom. This is tough but God will get us all through this. It's heartbreaking to watch. My grandmother was a cleaner upper like your mom. My grandmother used to pull her own weeds in her yard. She was always a hard worker. From what I see you stop by on regular basis to spend time with her.. you help her.. you talk with her.. you make sure she's have what she need.. you take her out to differ places.. God bless you. God strengthen you. God keep your marriage cause your husband does not have a problem with you taking care of her. I believe she is grateful and loves you. I also believe there's nothing going on with her other than the dementia. She seem to be energetic and seem to have been the type of person who always was on the move such as: taking care of my home; keeping clean.. My children being taken care of.. Making sure bills are paid etc.. Cut off the negative and keep patient with her- step away take deep breath and know God got her..

6:53 Even in a moment of frustration. You answered so many questions I had. It's not bad, by the way. It's beautiful, she hasn't lost motivation yet. She is just one of those amazing go getters in life. I think she was right. Daily I see so many seniors. The ones that stop doing well are the ones that sit still. It is no ones fault or quick fix. We as a society are learning to try and do better for our seniors. Right now this is an incredible time. It may not feel it. But in your life you witnessed people living twice as long on average. All the things we did like the anti smoking campaigns, understanding our diets, and so much more. Lead to this moment. We are discovering new problems simply because people are living so long right now. It's on us to keep the Miss Normas in the world in our hearts and mind. There will be so many more when the boomers get to that age. We have to do better for all including our seniors.

My mom just passed away from dementia she lived with me for fifteen years. It’s different with each patient. Everyday is different. As her child yes you will have to make decisions you don’t want to make. But you will have too. Walking is great but focus now on her need to maintain a healthy nutrition. She’s burning up all her calories. If the giving her things she like in order for her to eat and she’s not responding like last year, or last month. It’s time to bring in professionals. Mom had great doctors, geriatrics professionals that help us through her changes. Did it hurt me when they said to me, she’s in a dark space she will never be normal again. My heart dropped. Hoping for the best.
