I seen the whole interview and yeah i agree when i purchased slipknots iowa fear factory and some other albums the roadrunner records logo was a badge of honor like you were going to get the best production value and the most raw sounding heavy stuff you can think of
Then starting in 2012 things started to seem way off base with the bands that were getting that logo on their albums
Nothing against those bands as corey said but a lot of them did not fit with the image of what the roadrunner logo represented for us fans
Fuckin love this interview. thx
Rock Feed bringing us the good good!
i hope you are happy with your interview style.
I don't really follow them much, but Finale from their last album seemed to hint at them needing to leave something behind. Good to know its only the record label and not the band, as their last two albums have beem great. 'Solway Firth' 'Chapeltown Rag' and 'The Hive' are my favouite songs.
Slipknot seriously just needs to start their own Record Label. Call it IOWA Records or Studio NO.9 or something like that. Carry the brand of Slipknot into a natural next stage of existence.

And they could have Corey's son Griffins band Vented signed onto it too. That would be epic 👌👍
@@Josh-ky8eiit would

I hope their next album is a massive success
@@instaman34 he didnt comment on any of that? tf are you talkin about just a fellow maggot hoping the next albums good and thats it
@@LucanTheRandoLong story short, it'll be successful regardless. It being amazing is questionable because the last two albums were kind of a regurgitated mash up of the gray chapter. Don't get me wrong there were some good songs. IMO with them off the label they need to stray away from the mainstream/radio layout of their sound.
@@coverstream9951 I think that "the mainstream/radio layout of their sound" is not the label's fault (just listen to Corey solo crap..).
I mean, they were signed because they were metal, not radio frendly.
We will see (or not).
Their next album will have so much artistic freedom.
Purely for my own desires, I hope their next full length will be their most divisive album ever. A brain melter left turn. An absolute shrapnel bomb of a curve ball.
I appreciate that that wouldn't be what's best for them career-wise, but I personally feel that - at this stage of the game - that's what would be best for them artistically.
Corey Taylor is so cool and he looks like chill dude to talk and hangout with.
he is. great dude! very chill.
He really is
Yeah, he’s my bestie!! I’m not sure he realizes that tho! 😂
Met him on accident on mayhem fest when my cousin with touring with them. He really is a nice dude.
He’s one of the only celebrities I’ve ever actually wanted to meet
Whatever you do corey....DONT STOP!!! please keep slipknot alive!!! The world needs slipknot!!!
I hope in 2024 Slipknot will do another US tour I love to see them live again 🤘🤘🤘
Same, I haven't seem them yet but from what I can gather, I think they're planning some sort of tour for a 25th anniversary of the debut album.
@@bloodyassault803that’s what I’ve been hearing, that’s why there’s not really a tour rn, just festivals here and there. Slowing down this year to prepare for that
@bloodyassault803 you will love them man! I've seen them 3 times already. Just make sure you get general admission tickets. It's a totally different experience when they're in your face. The energy is unbelievable.
@@Maniac2016Thanks! Guitar Hero III was a huge introduction to this band to me and I’m sure I’ll love them.
I would’ve loved going last year when they were with Crown the Empire and Ice Nine Kills but due to family, high school (I’m no longer in school because I graduated) and the concert being in somewhere else, I couldn’t go.
Slipknot and Arch Enemy are the biggest ones I want to see next.
They were at rock fest in Virginia 5 days ago
Corey Taylor seems like a no BS guy. Respects.
ehhhh
He is known as The Great Big Mouth for a reason. Put a mic in front of him and he will just tell it how it is
Peter Steele was the same way.
Wouldn’t go that far buddy pal - funny how you can draw that conclusion from a 5 minute partial part of a interview..
@@NahBNah Because I seen other interviews?
Corey seems like a super cool and chill dude
he is for sure! Always been mad cool to me.
Can confirm - met him when Stone Sour opened for Halestorm a couple years ago. He was a sweetheart and so were all the guys in Stone Sour. Corey even signed my copy of "You're Making Me Hate You"
Seems
You late
He is
I met Corey Taylor at the Jackson County Fair when they shared the stage with Skillet and Alter Bridge. Super down to earth dude.
That sounds like a kickass concert
What a badass show.
Great to hear from Corey. Going to listen to the full podcast. Their albums always hit.
Last slipknot album hit 😂😭
This is like the tenth time I’ve found your comment buried in some random UA-cam video. Indian PewDiePie and I have the same interests 🥹

Thats a lie, last album was very bad

Do you know what they did to Joey
@@heldermonteiro2718 Joey left because he had a Neurological disorder. Look it up

100% Respect For Corey Taylor! YEAHH!🤘
I HOPE THEIR FUTURE WILL BE GREAT!
Fuck yeah. I'm glad they're still passionate about making music. The fact that they're gonna write together in a room will be awesome.
Funny thing, he talked about the business of it and nothing of the music of it. He's passionate about getting a better deal, nothing more. CMFT is pop. Slipknot is dead, it's just Stone Sour with a DJ now. Iowa will never happen again. In this interview, he longs for writing music but they aren't doing it currently. Farewell tour, retired, HoF.
I remember dressing up as these guys for Halloween back in middle school with a crew. God it's been a lifetime
Whoa! That's the sickest thing I've heard in a minute!! Also Hella unique as a costume idea
Early 2000s Roadrunner's band roster was unparalleled. Slipknot, Stone Sour, Fear Factory, Soulfy, Nailbomb, Biohazard, Ill Niño, I could go on. I gave that label so much of my money back then. I hate that it fizzled out the way Corey tells it. Such a shame. Looking forward to the 'Knot's future now though. 🤘💀
Most past roadrunner bands have not so pleasant things to say about them, just another label with scummy executives in the end
100%, they were a massive part of my youth .
You forgot about Black Label Society but yeah I’m also looking forward to Slipknot’s future
That’s most record labels for ya
@prestonmartin8268 Wasn't Coal Chamber with RR on the first and maybe second record?
I love how Corey can just lay the facts out and somehow makes it 10x more interesting. These little background stories are the things I really like to learn about!
I feel like Slipknot's 8th album will most likely release either 2025 or 2026. Either way I hope it's heavy af
its 9th if you count MFKR
@@CarnageRemixes..that isn't Slipknot, that is a Corey side project.
@@williamshepard9186Corey wasn’t even on MFKR lmao

Prayers to his health and well being. He's at a vulnerable state but yet so strong and amazing... truly inspiring ❤ nothing but the best to Corey and his hand and crew! This is crazy
Imagine if Slipknot, Black Veil Brides, Escape the Fate, and all the other amazing bands who have had trouble with labels over the years All got together and created Their OWN label😮
Too many egos lol
yup lol sounds good out loud until you take 15 seconds to think about it lol@@jimmyjhon133
I guess you're late to the party. Corey Taylor already has 2 record labels. He owns imprint records I believe he created this year and in 2006 created great big mouth records.
BVBs and ETF aren't the bands they once were. They don't really fit with Slipknot.

What a great interview. Nice job!
It's realy incredible how your channel has grown .
I’m surprised Slipknot was still able to push out some solid stuff despite the management fiasco at RoadRunner. Even We Are Not Your Kind is considered one of their best work
"The gray chapter" the best.
So different are the views... I think wanyk is ,by far, the worst work they have ever done.
But TBF, I'm a 2000 kid... and nothing will beat self titled and Iowa ;)
@@robink4849 Wanyk got me into the band in 2019, I went back and listened to all their other albums (including mfkr) and I gotta say that self titled, iowa, and volume 3 are definitely my favorite albums by them but wanyk is still really good in my eyes. The only album that wholeheartedly disappointed me was their newest one.
Feel like Christian Bale would do such a perfect impersonation of Corey
So happy for slipknot. They've been my favorite band for over a decade now. I don't listen nearly as much as I used to but this is an interesting twist that may tune me back in. I'm glad they're free though.
Just saw Corey in concert a few hours ago. Amazing!
Slipknot will never be the same. Without a soul, it's hard to move on. Rip Paul Dedrick Gray❤
Appreciate ya Brian this is great news... thanks for all you do
Super excited to see Corey excited talking about how the boys are excited about getting in a room altogether to write some shit and do it old school! Helluva time to be a slipknot fan!
Wow, slipknot without borders. This is going to be epic
Awesome video. Can’t wait wait to see want comes in the future 🤘🏿
Check out the full podcast if you get a chance! Fascinating convo!
Seeing Slipknot live is honestly, definitely one of the best moments one can experience. Really wish to do it again. I hope they keep going, forever a maggot!
Awesome interview man! He does look pretty exhausted to me, though not surprised! Dude is always on the go! 🤘
Im hoping they do independent releases from now on. Their own stuff. Their own terms and their own ways. Should be interesting to see what the next release will sound like.
Them pushing slipknot to the side just blows my mind. It's fuccing SLIPKNOT
Dude has aged very well.
I missed their tour last year, I really hope they go on one final one before they completely retire
Amazingly talented artist.
I just love how down to earth he seems!!! I hope you see this comment because I would love to know if he’s as friendly and nice in person as he seems to be when he’s interviewed?
This guy went from being a tough interview, to one of the coolest people. Gotta love the growth.
Seems when hes in the mask? Yeah. Not getting much but slipknot crazy. Anytime ive seen him just corey hes chill.
Those guys are astronomical insane live, man!
They still sound like its 1999.
They still have the fandom hooked indeed. Even if they are just floating around.

Some ppl just don’t know what they have… shame. But slipknot is huge they don’t need them. Kudos to them
I feel like the next step should be starting their own label. They have so much reach in metal/rock to be able to help small bands come up. Help out the next generation of bands, and who knows maybe they’ll have a band on their label that reaches slipknot levels of success
Yes guys, we know. Corey is a calm and reasonable person.
They must include in their next albums much more guitar solos at least for more than 15 second or more. That's is the passion that makes the song a hit .
Mick Thomson I hope he do that job.
fkn A man, great job with this interview!
Went to one of their concerts last years. It was enigmatic! Such a great experience
You guys are the goat sorry please keep kicking ass!!!last few albums masterpiece!!!!!! Unreal love all of them!!!
effing props to these guys! they deserve to feel free and joyful about the shit that they wan't too and can do! the fact that they're still around and has had the amount of success that they have is insane! I remember their first gig in Sweden like yesterday when me and half of my class skipped the last couple of classes to go see them for autographs before their show like the first little maggots we were. now i'm more of a beaten up old moth with only one wing but I push my fingers into my eyes to the tunes of Slipknot still since It's the only thing that slowly stops the ache
Corey Taylor seems like someone who you could talk to and wind up laughing your ass off for hours 😅 I just love his attitude and humor he happens to be a great singer too!
Please to god do some collaborations… i know doing anything is probably a huge undertaking considering how many people are in the band, but it would be crazy for music to have slipknot do some cross genre projects with other artists… always had this crazy idea of hearing XXXTENTACION and Corey together (obviously not gonna happen, but maybe with Uzi?)
I like his intensity. A man on a mission for sure. 🇬🇧🏆🇺🇲
I really hope they come out with something fire , I know they can . ❤🤘🏽🔥
I haven't seen Slipknot since the AHIG era. Missed opportunities in recent years but so lucky to have experience the original Knot. Hoping for a 2024 North American Tour. Just one more time; man.🤘🤞
They cancelled their NZ show.
Never heard about a reschedule.
Havent heard anyone playing any slipknot since.
People were pissed.
Cory is a cool as hell! love slipknot and i still miss stone sour ! Digging the solo music also man !
Sweet! I'm looking forward the the upcoming jazz fusion album.
Corey and then have always done their own thing and not give into popular trends, they understand what they are and what they want with the music they create. And I know people have some doubts but I know they are gonna make more great music and push the boundaries of their craft
Thank you Corey for all the hard work. We can't wait for the future. Meanwhile, I'll continue to enjoy everything you have brought me so far!

Huge!!! Excited for the future.
In 2011 staind released an album that (up for debate) could be considered their heaviest since dysfunction... those dudes were well in their 40s...slipknot makes heavy music man but it's been soo watered down since all hope is gone...I wish these dudes would rip out an album truly in the same spirit as Iowa.... I would love to see how it would play out...the stone sour vibes just really urk me with slipknot material and that's what I feel I've been getting from these dudes...heavy stone sour....

Roadrunner Records was literally my youth growing and seeing the huge roster of bands signed there from Slipknot to Cradle Of Filth, Within Temptation then DragonForce, but once time passed by and some of them left, something was off.
Saw these guys in Springfield, MO a year ago. Couldn't move for 4 days afterwards! Great time!!
1st time I saw Slipknot was the Ozzfest tour in 1999. They opened the 2nd stage. And oh what an open it was!!! Destroyed it!
Would have loved to see them back in those days.. First time I saw them was their Grey Chapter tour in 2014 or 2015? I think.

Sorry to go all emotional on y'all, but my life goal is to one day meet Corey and hug him. Because of him and Slipknot is the reason I'm still here. Maggot for life
The next Slipknot release will be something special now that they have no limitations holding them back
I feel like the last album was just to fulfill the contract. Don’t think they were really trying that hard with it.
I’d say they will keep going
i mean considering how big they are, and obvious project would be to create their own label. i always felt like that was going to be what they were building towards with knotfest. a lot of them have done their own projects and they already know every one and the business.

Finally! What corey taylor thinks!
I hope that slipknot decides to do knotfest iowa again. Or play in iowa. As a metalhead from iowa, if i dont go to see slipknot in concert at least once, im gonna regret it.
Damn the title scared the crap outta me 😂
waiting for the next album, I hope they do it like IOWA vibe 20 years ago,
I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure Type O Negative was the first Platinum selling artist on Roadrunner Records, with their album "Bloody Kisses" I am a huge fan of Type O Negative and Slipknot, but just want to put that out there. Roadrunner Records in the 90's into the 2000's had such a roster.
You're not wrong corey Taylor is. He just took all credit for what type o did first
Yup, something that was mentioned in the RoadRunner United: The All Star Sessions DVD. Corey just can't help himself though, the guy is nothing more than an ego. Growing up, I used to idolise the whole band, since then, I've come to realise that Corey and Shawn's ego were far bigger than Slipknot could ever wish to be. They destroyed everything they'd created in the pursuit of greed and self-service, the very things early Slipknot spoke so vehemently against.
These guys saved metal. For sure.
So looking forward to the future of SLIPKNOT 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Always good to see slipknot still rocking. Hope to see em again in the UK. 🤘🇬🇧
That David Bowie tattoo is insane. Obviously a great interview.
On to bigger and better things!
Corey to RRR: "if you're 5 5 5, i'm 6 6 6."
The world has changed. I have an entire media studio in my house - certainly Corey Taylor and Slipknot do not need the corporate world micromanaging anymore. Cameras, music gear, etc... it's all accessible they don't need anybody.
I love Slipknot and Corey so much. I’m not sure if it’s just the particular day, but Corey looks exhausted in this video, which I completely understand. I’ve seen at least a half dozen shows and gives every bit of his energy up until the last note is played. Although it would (selfishly) be a bummer if he retired from Slipknot, I would totally get it. I would be more than happy if he decided to write books from now moving forward. If anyone hasn’t read You’re Making Me Hate You, I highly recommend it. It’s so honest and so funny. His other books are quite entertaining as well.
Always here for slipknot, ever since I got my first album in 2011 I was 9 lol 😂
I would absolutely love to see a major, big production Live DVD/BluRay from Slipknot, their live show is such a major part of what they are, and I dont just mean record a regular live show but put on an extra big show specifically for that purpose, something along the lines of what Kiss did with Kiss symphony but of course, not with a symphony orchestra xD

Slipknot is down to 5 original members. The limps have come away from the body. It would take the heaviest, gnarliest, fists in the air metal anthem to bring the beast back together...and I'm optimistic that will happen. I'm looking forward to this next chapter.
Slipknot is dead. It sucks. There isn’t enough og members to continue the type of music we all fell in love with. It’s now Corey’s show, which is fine but I’m not into it.
