- Slipknot announced their first new song since they revealed their new drummer Eloy Casagrande. Slipknot is set to release new music, though a release date is unclear.

"Casagrande" = slave owner's residence in a plantation, in Portuguese. I guess that's similar in Spanish, hence the name of the city.
P.S.: the literal transltation of "casa grande" would be "big house". However, these 2 words put together usually refers to the above.

Without knowing him personally, I believe that Eloy is a genuinely good person.
He is a one of a kind person, absolutely humble and down to earth guy.

I could not agree more. Eloy's arrival has turned the negative murmurs into VERY loud applause. I'll even go one further... I think Eloy, along with this whole retro vibe they're going with right now is even bringing back fans that have fallen away for much longer than just recently. Personally, their first two albums, Slipknot and Iowa, have ALWAYS been my two favorite albums. I thought The subliminal verses was good... but after that one, and after they started getting more into doing the more stone sour style sounding songs here and there, I just kinda lost interest. I never like hated them, or never even got to where I didn't "like" them... It just wasn't the same to me anymore, and the more guys they lost... and the more the look changed, the less interesting they were to me. But, Just the fact of the rumors going around that Eloy may be coming on... I started getting interested. I remember watching his Slipknot drum cover videos and being blown away... the first time I commented on one it was like "Why the hell is this guy not in Slipknot?" Fast forward a while and here we are. After seeing videos of the 3 shows they've done with him (that I know of), and with not only the classic look (Kinda) being back.. and then the FEROCITY of how they're playing being back similar to how it was in the earlier days. It's just got me so stoked about Slipknot again. I'll be getting out to see them as soon as they're close enough.
I'm still salty about Joey because I loved his and his dad's work but he's seems to be in a band that's a good fit for him and I'm excited to see slipknot with their second wind. I'm seeing them later this week and I'll report how it goes 🫡

@@OverlordElder Lol, I thought so. Jay's a great drummer... Max is too in his own right. I just feel like for Slipknot, Eloy's power and accuracy is just a better fit. And you can definitely hear Joey's influence on Eloy, much like Jay... Eloy's just got a lot more power it seems like. The cartilage in that dude's joints are going to be powder by the time he's 60 lol.

I have a feeling that Slipknot will be doing what Lorna Shore did with ...And I Return To Nothingness. Meaning that they will make a small EP with Eloy then continue making a full length album. Just like Lorna Shore did with Will.

Just a guess but I feel like they are only doing the jumpsuits and throwback masks for the 25th anniversary stuff and then it will back to newer outfits like Jim and Corey for instance wearing shirts and new mask designs again. Also I think the new song will be just a single as a sort of this what new music with eloy will be like and welcome to the band.
I like how Jim hinted that new Slipknot music will be heavy because the drum videos Eloy sent over we're just crazy

I'm pretty excited about that. The 1 minute song that's on his UA-cam channel sounds a bit like something from Holy Wood, perhaps Cruci-Fiction in Space and Valentine's Day. Can't wait for the whole thing to came and the tour that starts on september.

I would say Eloy was definitely the man for the job since he idolized Slipknot. I also like the picture of the band. It really has that 1999 look to it.
I hope we will hear some old stuff style like "SlipKnoT" and "Iowa" + a little bit of "vol.3" albums
0:49 Eloy is a brilliant drummer, that makes me more worried about how he will be treated if he should get replaced down the line. Slipknot doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to how they’ve treated Joey and later Jay. They didn’t deserve it and Eloy sure as hell doesn’t deserve it.
However, just by watching them play live it’s clear they’re all stoked about their new lineup, which gives me hope for the future. The End so Far was such a disappointment to me that I more or less gave up on any future music, but now I feel hopeful again!

I think Slipknot is in good place and enjoying what’s they do again and it hasn’t felt that way in a while. I was upset when Jay got let go but it seems to have done some good for the band as a whole and Eloy is a beast. Looking forward to what’s next for the band 🤘🏼
Slipknot was never my cup of tea (always respected them tremendously) but after Eloy joining them I’m becoming a huge fan learning about the band and getting to know their music

There is some truth to this. I've said for a long time slipknot has the mushroomhead disorder, where every member is replaceable.
I could have swore Clown or Corey were saying recently that since they don't have a label they may not release albums anymore and just release songs whenever its convenient for them? But that might have been when they still had Jay and maybe they feel more motivated to write a full album now.

That fact that Jim said that is what the click between a drummer and guitarist represents. Not the metronome click but the one that influences writing. Slipknot are once again going to blow us away in the future I guarantee it.

One thing people sometines ignore is how Eloy brought a lot of new fans to Sepultura and will do the same for Slipknot. I have a friend who works in the industry and we both are more classic rock oriented. Slipknot are not our thing, but with Eloy, we are happy to wait for new songs with him.
He is a beast. Totally next level and we are proud of him here in Brazil.

They can absolutely reproduce their old sound. Maybe it's just me, but anybody who has been a fan since the early days can tell you their latest album 'The End so Far' is a collection of unused riffs from just about every album cycle. It wouldn't surprise me if their new song sounds like something off their first or second album.
It’s not hard to know what they’ll do with the song. It’s gna be released as a single, then whenever the album comes out, the song will be on the album too.
