For the price the WiFi dongle should be included with each light.
They should be WiFi out of the box, Red seas lights are cheaper and have the WiFi function straight away. Basically give the same shimmer too
I personally love the add on wifi dongle.........and Kessil products are top notch..........worth the price........im very ok with the wifi feature not being included on the light.........especially for warrenty purposes.........if the light or wifi fail then your not stuck sending the entire unit out.......if you already have kessil's wired controller and dont want or need wifi......then your not stuck paying for the hardware in the fixture. Ppl comain on Kessil pricing.......well you get what you pay for..........ive done the cheaper equipment before from companies like Redsea etc........was most times underwhelmed........this is an expensive hobby in many ways........im not on a shoestring budget and Kessil isnt catering to ppl who worry about every last nickel and dime. I used to run a dozen arrays of 400 watt metal halides over all my house reeftanks........the electric bill was insane........but these new led lights that are now maturing literally pay for themselves over a few short years. But anyway......Kessil puts out a top notch product and their lighting gets great results from coral growth and coloration without the humongous electric bill. 2 thumbs way up for their light products from an experienced reefer and coral propagator.
A lot of guys thinking the wrong way around, if the lights came with built in wifi at the same price point why would you need the spectral controller ? Not why would you need this if you have a spectral controller.
Having built in wifi makes the controller obsolete when selling at same price point - it’s all about revenue.
Kessil likes to sell literally everything seperate to make as much as possible & then on top of that they gouge us with these prices ..
Don’t see the need for this. Once I set my light cycle I rarely change it. If I have the spectral controller for my A360X why would I need this?
can you control two lights with separate spectrums? Or do you nee to buy two wifi dongles
A much needed add seen in person at Reefpaloza in Anaheim, I still haven’t heard of the price! This is great for coral farming as you might need to adjust lighting, and you can set different groups to different lighting in the daisy change that was the best feature that should have been mentioned!
Wasn't there once talk of controlling their dongle with an Apex controller? I don't see any info related to Apex, or other 3rd party controllers, in any of the just released information. I hope I don't have to wait two years for Apex to create and release a specialized module...
I agree with the last guy it should be built-in just like Aqua illumination 26 Hydra I also don't like that you have to be standing in front of it for it to work I can't control it while I'm out to dinner or out on vacation you have to be standing right in front of it for it to work unlike the AI HD

Is it possible to sync an AP700 to the same app as the wifi dongle?
The AP700 cannot be controlled through the wifi dongle.
