I got this bike during 2020 lockdown here in Melbourne as had trails within 5km of home. No real issues. I brought a few new tools for easier diy servicing.
It's just wild that 8K is a value play on a bike. For a heavy bike it still looked like you very comfortable in the air. I'm so keen to try an e-bike around here. Do 50 laps per session at Bare Creek to learn how to jump.
Nice review you certainly punished the focus I have 1 as well no problems after a year the only things I've changed is brakes and added a bigger token in the rear.shock other than that very happy a fox 36 up front would of been great
I haven't ridden the Trek, but I've spent time on the old Turbo Levo and it was nowhere near as playful as the Focus, which I put down to the longer chainstays on the Levo since the bikes are similar otherwise.
Cool vid mate. I agree the 25km/h limit here is ridiculous, and potentially dangerous in my opinion, it can cut out at inopportune times.. I think NZ have a 32km/h limit, makes sense.
I think when I’m putting more effort in I’m less likely to think about other things. On the eeb the climbs felt like more of a transaction rather than an achievement
That’s not a bike computer it’s the Bosch Kiox display. Loads of info, none of which I really needed. On by regular bikes I’ve got the little Garmin 130 and I love it!
Yeah it can definitely take the heat, I’d like to spend some more time on it. The shock felt good but I didn’t really find the right sag for it, one day I ran it too soft and the next too firm. A bigger spacer might have been the ticket, but the bike felt good however I ran it

Nice one mate. Greet to see the Jam getting a good flogging. Shows what it’s capable of in the right hands. Next review … the Sam! ⚡️🤘
Keen to get on the Sam for and see how it compares. Once I’m back on the bike of course 🤕
Love my jam2 of Andy at Engadine.

It’s all relative in a world of $20k+ ebikes. One of the lightweight eebs would be amazing at bare creek I reckon.
Nice review. Been looking at one of these.
It's a good choice for the tamer stuff around here for sure!
awesome video👍 bike looks sick

Nice one Craig. Rode a Trek Rail 9 at about 30kg the other week and did feel a bit of a bus at times. Have u ridden a Rail? Much differences?

You didn’t look too unnerved on some of those rocky descents 😮 Nice work !
Thanks 🙏 yeah I got on pretty well with the bike for sure!

You said it. I can see why so many people take matters into their own hands.
How come you felt the uphills were “quicker but more boring”?

What bike computer u using nowdays??

whats the top speed?
@@conomona2207 25km same as all Aussie bikes 😢
I have the 6.7 and love it but I'm getting fox 36 next week.
Good choice. I’d be tempted to bump the fork up to 160mm too, are you doing that?
@@MTBMcPhee no keeping it to 150 it's the factory option .
I'm thinking to buy the 6.7 but should I consider anything else in that price bracket? Perhaps the Trek Rail 5?
@@leadwow_ai I haven’t had a chance to sample the trek but they also look quite good 👍
That rattle was terrible!
Ebikes are good fun if you’ve got the cash.
34s on a ebike? We’re they flexy?
Yeah they didn't feel great when really pushing. Not sure what the noise was, demo bikes have it pretty hard.
The noise is Bosch they all do it
Just flash it to NZ Spec. Its just software.
This was just a demo, but I’ve done that on my own eeb and it makes a huge difference 👍
Nice to see the abuse it can take ! Sweet riding too , killing it .
How did u find the rear shock ? Did it feel like it was blowing through the stroke to easy ? May.b bigger spacer will sort it u think....

Mate please tell me you are not going to the dark side aswell 😅
No, it’s not my time… yet 😂
@@MTBMcPhee lucky, I was about to hit the unsubscribe button 🤣🤣
Just another bike in the shed. It’s great to mix it up. The fun side. Triple your km and you’ll get just as good a workout.
welcome to the dark side!
The dank side maybe
