    Whats Up Everybody, Welcome Back!
Welcome to my second ever bike review, a bike review would have to be hardest to do as im not a fan of watching someone just sitting/standing there talking, its watching the trail or the ride that keeps you into the vid but you cannot give a true review while riding, so I have tried to find the perfect balance between the 2 and I hope it works.
This review is for the newly released 2022 Focus Jam 6.9, an ENTIRELY NEW platform for this year and the changes are a serious and competitive step forward for Focus and should be a concern for other brands.
There isnt much I can or will say here as I think ive covered it in the vid, so, if you are looking for a new bike or considering one down the track I would 💯 recomend adding this to the consideration list.
Without a doubt a great trail/enduro bike, seeiously responsive and stable without losing any agility, I completely enjoyed my time on this bike...
A MASSIVE shoutout and thank you to Fred and the team at RT Cycles for always keeping me on the trail -

Hey I appreciate the kind words. Ive actually got a soft spot for the Occam and Orbea in general, honestly between these 2 bikes you cant lose in any way but one will offer more than the other.. Not sure about the UK but here in Aus the Orbea is a little more expensive so the Focus will offer more bike for the money..

Its great hearing some common sense come from a fellow rider, in regards to sticking to a hardtail in order to improve. I see sooo many riders jump straight into the deep end and think they are awesome riders NOT REALISING the bike is doing most of the work then they encounter a section beyond the bike and end up over the bars and in hospital (Friday Fails is a prime Example).
Its great to learn to get a solid feel for trails first and no better than a hard tail to do so...

Not sure if you have any experience with those 2 bikes, but how do you think it would stack up? i mostly ride steeper rockier terrain. I met you at Coast Cyclery at Tweed. Just wondering your expert opinion. I was looking at either the Jam or Sam. I love the Jam specs but I was also wanting a bike to take to bigger spots other than trails like Perisher, Boomerang Farm, NZ and also race enduro when my life settles and I’m back home loving again etc and was thinking even though the Sam will be slower climbing it would be better maybe for what I’m after? What’s your thoughts?

Hey buddy I remember you, you have been away for sometime and had just got back when I saw you in the shop yes? I love the extra travel of the Sam and it will certainly take bigger hits etc but me personally, I’m not a fan of 27.5” wheels, thats my only drawback. Plus if the bulk of riding you do is around SEQ with occasional visits to Thredbo, Tassie etc then the Jam will do you better as it will be more adaptive to bigger parks than the Sam will be to SEQ trails...
Please understand thats just my thoughts, plus the Aussie wholesaler didnt bring the better high end Jam into Australia so the Sam does come in a better package. Therefore id suggest for you and what you are wanting the Sam would be your better option..

Hey @gamesta8353 yes absolutely. Clearly not as well as a 13kilo lightweight carbon but as I mentioned somewhere in the video that I was blown away at the phenomenal amount of power i was able to get through the pedals. This bike pedalled and climbed better than i had expected. The suspension platform with the Focus GOLD dual linkage helps to eliminate pedal sag which created a nice and direct amount of power. Hey Joonas, had no issues at all, I loved this bike for climbing, I’ve owned the previous model for 2yrs and found the FOLD system very effective all round. I ran a lower 25/28% sag which also kept it planted on climbs and didn’t rob any small bump sensitivity on the flat and descending.
I never flipped the lever on this bike at all, on my own the only tones I do is when I rode the roads to get to trails etc a d even then I don’t often.

Hi there, I’m 180mm and the Large I tested was just big enough, being a BMXr I prefer them slightly on the smaller side, meaning I could have gone an XL if I wasn’t into throwing it around so much.
A Medium would certainly be too shall, I would suggest a large 💯

@@domtech5 sorry I may not have been very clear, I normally ride an XL so going to this large felt small, not suggesting the Large is small compared to other large but it is compared to an XL that I was riding. Hey I am so sorry I’ve not seen your message until now, sadly I’m sure it’s too late to give a true answer HOWEVER Ian please to say the frame design and suspension platform has not changed for 2024 as this model (2023 onwards) was the first horizontal shock from Focus and it is a huge success.
As for spec it is the same for this model Running the XT Groupo But there may be small changes like grips, Tyre models etc and ofcourse new colour ways.

Hey SidNic I managed without one and had the rear shock at 240psi, i would liked to have had a token in the rear but didn’t end up doing so..

@@SidiNic I actually found the Fork to be too soft, yes I did put a token in the front, memory is a little vague but I’m near certain I ran 120psi in the fork, I usually run 100-110 but these lacked the ramping up at the end of the stroke.
Your forks should tip out easy at 70psi even for a light rider.

Nope not at all. The bike is a little heavier than a Carbon one as it is a full Alloy frame but not by much.

    • @FlowmentumMTB
      @FlowmentumMTB  2 роки тому +1

@@barrakingbeatz7794 tough call as both are great bikes, well known for reliability and performance however I would go the JAM 💯, It is is far better value for money, the equivalent SIGHT is the A1, it is $1500 more than the JAM and only has Sram GX which in comparison is a step below Shimano XT.
However these are relatively simple and affordable upgrades so then it comes down to suspension design and again I prefer the JAM, as stated in the review the JAM has the FOLD System which is a 2 stage travel and although very advanced it works relatively simple yet offers so much more than the basic Horst Link design on the NORCO.
The Horst Link system is popular for a reason, it works, its simple but it does the job, but a 140mm feels like 140mm, sometimes this Horst Link Design struggles to really bring out the smoothness in rougher terrain as where the FOLD system on the JAM kicks in on the bigger hits and higher speed stuff and flattens everything out.
Its all personal opinion but the JAM is far better value for money and the suspension is flawless..
