Wrath of the machine is still my favourite raid of all time. It was one of the only raids that i did a lot and never got bored of it, and I met so many people through that raid that im still friends with today. All of the encounters were enjoyable and the armour sets were beautiful. Just an overall good raid
It’s the one of the best on my list. One of the first raids I got into when I came back to the game. Started in a new clan, met lots of new people, and actually sherpad the raid many many times.
Wrath is still my favorite raid of all time, even after i already had everything from the raid and had done the SIVA puzzle like a billion times i kept playing it, i got so good at it too
The music for this raid was also AMAZING, this was easily the greatest raid in the history of destiny. Taken King takes a close second, but jeez it's amazing
I don’t know how many other noticed but the Queens Walk is just like the suicide mission in Mass Effect 2, a nice nod to arguably the best single player mission in a game.
Shuro Chi is one of my favorite encounters, I love how it feels like a 1000 miles a minute & how fast you have to be. Final boss of GoS is also a lot of fun.
Honestly cant wait to see what is coming after the raid though, the 12 man is cool, but I want to find secrets and hidden bosses like in Forsaken. This expansion is top notch.
Edan Wheatley well, as Taken king was the start of the new era of destiny (year 2 onwards) which has ultimately led to what destiny 2 is now, I’d personally hold Taken king in a higher regard
Aksis is still my favorite. I love the entrance, the arena itself, and the mechanics based around empowering and coordinating attacks with scorch cannons and SIVA balls.
I'm a true blue vault of glass fan :P axsis was meh for me also if you like player coordination then riven should be up there for you, that encounter is just coordination and ad clear it's actually pretty easy buuuuuut ya always have that ONE guy that doesn't want to learn legit in yer team
Erragouth18 I never got outbreak because after all the work we did for the quest through the whole raid, we were having trouble at Aksis, and because me and my friend weren’t good friends with their group they kicked us for people they knew to join, and they got it without us
The cello solo always puts a lump in my throat. Forsaken was such a great time. No one will know if they weren’t there. I’m excited for new light players to experience the Dreaming City for the first time. I hope they run Riven legit too. It’s hands down, the best raid encounter in Destiny history.
Im an old Destiny player back from D1 beta and I'll never forget going into VoG not having any clue how to complete it. Took about 8 hours after finally watching some videos of people who had previously completed it.
Thank you for taking us through these legendary moments once again. Last Wish will always have a special place in my heart and will forever be one of the best experiences I've ever had in any game, ever. Scratch that, not just gaming, any time of media included. I doubt something will ever top it, this was truly a special moment.
You know when you think Bungie can't beat the Taken King expansion, they come around the corner with Forsaken and slap that in your face HARD. I just love how beautiful the enviroments are, just HOW MUCH the expansion explored different parts of the universe so well in the Lore and how amazing that Raid was designed. Boss battle after boss battle with a chunky puzzle in front of the final boss. Often you would have a puzzle early on to ease you into the raid, but not this time. This time the puzzle is the hardest part that a year later is still quiet a mess in some LFG groups, because lets be honest. Some of us out here always picked ad control and let the smarty pants do the puzzle, lmao. This raid was a fontain of creativity in every aspect. Shuro Chi was running from you and you had to chase her, Morgeth was a race of speed as well in their own right, Riven complex and when killed wouldn't even be the final encounter. The Queenswalk is by far the coolest ending to a raid ever. You Literally deepthroat yourself into a freaking dragon to get its hard and then carry it around while a horde of Taken are attacking your team. The heart pulling the bearer into its insides where you have to fend of against another horde of Taken. Like if you explained this to someone that hasn't seen this before, they just have to be hyped up to 11 just from hearing how crazy this sounds. And then when the raid is over, the narrative continues. New content unlocks. Even harder stuff is revealed to be done, new quests and narrative wise, the slayers of Riven are now cursed with Riven being in their mind. That's something I *want* to be continued on for more storywise. I want Riven to be that second voice next to Ghost that just keeps talking, because she will talk when you do stuff like Shattered Throne. There's just so much greatness in this. I think Forsaken has set the bar for Destiny expansions really on a new height. I don't know when Bungie will be able to ste the bar higher, but I can't wait to see that happen.
I really love these in-depth videos of unique occurrences like this! As a new light player, they give a lot of context to things I otherwise wouldn't even know about. They are also very insightful, I hope to see more, good luck on your success!
Welcome to Destiny, where the raids have an equal chance of being either this insane or simply a slightly more complex strike *cough scourgeofthepast and eaterofworlds cough*. If you haven't, get into the raiding community. Tons of fun, tons of late nights, tons of memories.
@@joshuavidrine889 have done garden and levithan and a few others they are really fun! Can't wait to do the reset of them and the future one when it comes out!
Morgeth in this raid is my favorite... but the reason is what happened during it. I LFGed into a team where I was the only one that knew the mechanic... hard enough... it also half the team couldn’t hear other team and vise versa. Whoever two players would join the party chat or game chat they could not hear or be heard by the other three and vise versa. But I (for some reason) was able to go into each other’s chats and be heard. I coordinated and explained the entire encounter tot hem under these conditions and managed to finish the encounter after 2-3 hours. I got the Curated Nation of Beasts and I immoderately put a shader on it so I wouldn’t lose it.

Makes me excited again for the next season coming soon. Liked and subbed. Looking forward to more content.
My favorite raid encounter is the intro to scourge of the past, because of the set piece alone, i’ve always wanted to explore the last city and that’s the closet we ever got
I thought I was over the hype of Last Wish, but this video reignited my love of the entire raid. This is 100% one of the most iconic raids in Destiny history, and I hope we never forget it.

I firmly believe that Season 10 and 11 will be amazing seasons from what Bungie said so far. Idk if as good as Forsaken but one can hope!
This is the raid that really got me into the technical side of destiny.I remember testing out my whole arsenal and trying to speed run it with my old clan.Great times with the boys and shouts out to all the randoms y’all were fun to play with
Best raid moment for me in Destiny is the first encounter on Crota’s End. It was very simple... but the feeling i got the first time getting chased by the thralls was an absolute horror
Thank you for this.you have captured the day one rush for all of us who have missed. Those who have been playing years but never cared about raids. I just got into raids this year and tried to complete as much before the vaulting. Raiding is where destiny shines its brightest. Thank you for all the raid videos.
Its not really hard cause the puzzle is very easy thanks to guides. Only somewhat hard part is to remember the names of the symbols but eh, they are easy to remember after your first try. Lit third phase music though.
i’m pretty sure i’ve watched this video every day since you uploaded it . rivens theme and watching everyone fighting her to it still gives me chills . her theme is my favorite boss theme in the destiny franchise imo
Thank you for putting this together! It was a special time for this community indeed and watching this brought me right back to that excitement. Goddamn, Bungie makes some good video games.
Sadly its gone downhill since season of opulence. Look at the current state of the game. Shadowkeep was nowhere near what wrath of machine was. Current season is just nothingness after the first two weeks. There is literally nothing to do until the next exotic quest or the new sundial boss and whatever Patyrean restoration is but I doubt that the boss that restoration would have anything worthwhile. People will kill the boss for the Savior title and then never set foot in the sundial again.
Destiny isn’t an MMORPG though.. It’s a watered down looter shooter for casuals.. They’ve already admitted to wanting destiny to be a casual game for causal gamers.. nothing about MMO’s is soft core.
@@InnanetBaby I think kinda agree with you, I think we've fallen into the habit of calling any game with a loot system an 'RPG.' I was always apart of the community, but this raid was special to me. I've never done it personally (not much of a raider) but it was the first time I'd tuned into a twitch stream and followed the action. I remember passing out on my couch, waking up, thinking it started playing some old vids they had uploaded, and then realizing that they still weren't done yet. The content after? Amazing.
I came back to Destiny about 2 months after forsaken and I'm so sad I missed this 24 hour race. I've watched all the most recent world's first races and this shit can be intense. I wish I could've watched this race happen. Thanks for putting this video together dude
I think the last wish Riven encounter was one of the best boss fights I have ever seen. The fight was tough and challenging while the music continues to climb higher once riven is close to her death as the music turns triumphantly to give hope and slay the beast
I've watched this video multiple times. Still to this day one of the most important days in destiny's history if not it. I remember watching the raid race from the beginning, going to work at night and coming out the next morning. I checked my phone and it was still going. Motivates me so much more and hopefully one day I can participate in a raid race.
After the Forsaken campaing and this masterpiece of a raid I was in awe. Extatic, really. And if someone would've told me that 2 years from now all engame content is 'motes go brrr' I'd laugh him in his smug face. I miss Forsaken level content.
I honsestly hope they never actually nerfy the cheese because since last wish is extremely complicated and hard for inexperienced players not many people can actually complete last wish because of how complicated the encounters is and how long riven would take to do
@@griffinmelancon7989 - At this point, they won't, but it IS a raid. It's not meant to be a casual experience for individuals not willing to put in the effort to learn the encounters, and it never was. I understand where people are coming from when they say that they just want the loot, but if you aren't enjoying the process of learning and overcoming a challenge, why are you raiding to begin with? I've had this argument before. There is a clear divide in the community when it comes to difficulty in Destiny and how that manifests. I view the paradigm that argues for keeping these kinds of exploits in the game as hypocritical, for they are frequently of the crowd that considers light level inflation to be "artificial" difficulty. But there's no point in debating Riven cheese anymore, as I once did. Folks going back to Last Wish now are just grinding it to get One Thousand Voices, as the content is no longer relevant, but if they ever bring the raid back into the limelight (that is, boost it up to current light levels and update the gear), I would be surprised if they didn't fix Riven as they did all of the Crota's End encounters during Age of Triumph. Until then, the original strategy will be lost to time and circumstance.
6 months after the release of the forsaken dlc, I met my fiance and suddenly gaming didn't seem as important. As I fell in love with her, I slowly fell out of love with destiny. I still watched videos and kept in touch with a few clanmates, but from what I can tell I left at the absolute peak of the franchise. I love the last wish raid more than any piece of content from any game, ever. It was perfect. I still listen to the music from the vault once in a while when I want to feel pumped up. I remember doing my Petros run with lfg teams, trying for weeks before finding the team I would beat it with. One of the guys on that lfg team had lied about his experience level. He kept asking so many questions that we knew by morgeth he had never done it before, but we trucked on and amazingly beat it. One of my proudest moments as I feel like I was his sherpa through a blind flawless run. I'll come back to destiny if they can repeat this but I don't think there will ever be a dlc that even comes close. Thanks Evan for making such a great video that perfectly encapsulates how awesome it was

I remember this. It's because a lot of streamers were and subscribers supporting their teams were believed to be watching other streams while their stream was running taking the answers from the team that was solving everything and why the chat was muted. Datto's team was particularly solving everything while the other teams jumped into the next occurrence right after Datto's team solved them. Was an awesome raid to watch and I hope we get another raid experience as good as this one someday again as everything after this raid seemed just plain easy.

Best raid in destiny for me just because you can tell that Bungie pour their heart and soul into it
In destiny 2 not destiny 1
Vault of glass was and still is king

Last Wish will always be the Kings Fall of D2
I don’t know how many other noticed but the Queens Walk is just like the suicide mission in Mass Effect 2, a nice nod to arguably the best single player mission in a game.
Huh must be why I adore both. Wouldave never thought of the connection myself
Shuro Chi is one of my favorite encounters, I love how it feels like a 1000 miles a minute & how fast you have to be. Final boss of GoS is also a lot of fun.
Greatest raid ever, Bungie knocked that whole DLC out of the park
Yo looks, that's me!
You brought that shit home dude!
Flesh we salute you
If this last raid ends up being longer than this i will cry
It was 8 minutes longer
It was 😭
Honestly cant wait to see what is coming after the raid though, the 12 man is cool, but I want to find secrets and hidden bosses like in Forsaken. This expansion is top notch.
Forsaken was the best thing to happen to D2...
Best thing to happen to Destiny period. Forsaken absolutely trumps Taken King, Rise of Iron, Shadowkeep, anything.
Edan Wheatley well, as Taken king was the start of the new era of destiny (year 2 onwards) which has ultimately led to what destiny 2 is now, I’d personally hold Taken king in a higher regard
TheSauceGod but if you’re talking about content and quality alone, forsaken beats any other expansion.
Edan Wheatley slow your role there
Forsaken is the best thing to happen to all of destiny
The two best Soundtracks in all of gaming: Halo Reach Title and Queens-Walk Raid Encounter.
Hawk_ish Rivens theme is also pretty good
Cod bo2 adrenaline
Aksis is still my favorite. I love the entrance, the arena itself, and the mechanics based around empowering and coordinating attacks with scorch cannons and SIVA balls.
yeah same
Amscarpi I never really liked Aksis that much the best I’m my opinion was taken king that was such a fun raid
I'm a true blue vault of glass fan :P axsis was meh for me also if you like player coordination then riven should be up there for you, that encounter is just coordination and ad clear it's actually pretty easy buuuuuut ya always have that ONE guy that doesn't want to learn legit in yer team
And don’t forget that sexy ass outbreak prime quest when it was figured out...
Erragouth18 I never got outbreak because after all the work we did for the quest through the whole raid, we were having trouble at Aksis, and because me and my friend weren’t good friends with their group they kicked us for people they knew to join, and they got it without us
I really hope we get a big raid like this again. I wanna watch a 24 hour raid stream again
Forsaken was the most fun I've ever had on Destiny. Amazing race, was glad to be a part of it.
Oryx encounter is still my favorite. So much communication and team work needed. The entire raid was just perfect

The cello solo always puts a lump in my throat. Forsaken was such a great time.
No one will know if they weren’t there. I’m excited for new light players to experience the Dreaming City for the first time. I hope they run Riven legit too. It’s hands down, the best raid encounter in Destiny history.
Your content is incredible. Makes me proud to be a guardian
12:08 everyone gangsta til Ben Shapiro explains the raid mechanics
lmaoooooooo underrated comment

Ngl tho Ben Shapiro a real gamer
My favorite raid would have to be KING’S FALL. There’s something about that raid that makes me feel so happy playing with other people.
I feel you. That raid was incredible. The setting, the encounters and mechanics. The gear you could get, Its definitely one of my favorite raids.
Yeah last wish and kings fall are a lot alike
that’s why last wish is my favorite raid in d2 on d1 it’s definitely gonna be kings fall
Kings fall setting was soo good
I went of regular d1 last week and carried 3 friends through with 2 of my buddies was such a nostalgia rush
Im an old Destiny player back from D1 beta and I'll never forget going into VoG not having any clue how to complete it. Took about 8 hours after finally watching some videos of people who had previously completed it.
I remember skipping school that day just to play forsaken. Forsaken was so hype and I don’t think that hype can ever be matched again.
Legendary moments for sure... they have to make more raids like this and include new mechanics when the raid is beaten.
Thank you for taking us through these legendary moments once again. Last Wish will always have a special place in my heart and will forever be one of the best experiences I've ever had in any game, ever. Scratch that, not just gaming, any time of media included. I doubt something will ever top it, this was truly a special moment.
Really appreciate the effort into the video really loved watching this. Keep it up
You know when you think Bungie can't beat the Taken King expansion, they come around the corner with Forsaken and slap that in your face HARD.
@@Mountaintop69420 There will hardly be anything out there that will raise the bar more than deepthroating ourselves into a giant dragon.

Welcome to Destiny, where the raids have an equal chance of being either this insane or simply a slightly more complex strike *cough scourgeofthepast and eaterofworlds cough*. If you haven't, get into the raiding community. Tons of fun, tons of late nights, tons of memories.

3 years later this video still gives me chills
I’m just surprised that science taught me something for once with shadows
The metal gear solid music while Sweatcicle is smashing that sandwich 😂😂😂
The way “and whisper wasn’t NERFED” was said was hilarious to me for some reason
The music on the final phase of the vault hypes me up to this day
UA-cam recommended algorithm got it right and introduced your channel to me, great work in bringing back the feeling of excitement of going through an event the first time even after so much time had passed. Makes me excited again for the next season coming soon. Liked and subbed. Looking forward to more content.
I'll never forget watching this for 24 hours straight. Seriously my favorite time in destiny history. Those first few weeks of forsaken were insane
This video brought back the feels from this raid race. I remember watching everyone in this. Great video man!
My favorite raid encounter is the intro to scourge of the past, because of the set piece alone, i’ve always wanted to explore the last city and that’s the closet we ever got
“A true Physical piece of golden clout” 😂
this dude is fucking comedian 😂😂😂😂
I thought I was over the hype of Last Wish, but this video reignited my love of the entire raid. This is 100% one of the most iconic raids in Destiny history, and I hope we never forget it.
Last Wish was possibly the hugest jebait of all time when it comes to Destiny

- p4p - it's a little more than that but that is an issue to the longer you play the more apparent the issues of the game become like all of pvp the amount you need to dumb to keep playing new content unbalanced guns disappointing and easy raids. Like go learn about some of the lore trust me you will be so disappointed with the story that's actually in the game and always question why the hell are these things not in the game? bungie screws a lot of things up sadly that will never change T.T

@@rightupmyalley617 I agree with you, I've been playing this game for a while and it's still the only game I play even though I have 10 others on my pc. Even though it can't compare to Forsaken, I love the build up that Shadowkeep started and how they continued with Season of Dawn.
The Vault, I fucking love this part of last Wish, hard, very fun to play, and the music, god damn, vaults third phase music gives me goosebumps
Music fuck yes hard not rlly unless you're talking about day 1 and it's somewhat enjoyable I guess :T

Ninjy might’ve had the worst choke in destiny history
Bless you for using Teawrex's reaction to the symbols at Riven. Legit one of my fav moments. Shiro and Queenswalk are easily my fav raid encounters.
I swear, Destiny is creating another MMORPG "golden age" in the age of dead MMO's.
@@InnanetBaby I think kinda agree with you, I think we've fallen into the habit of calling any game with a loot system an 'RPG.' Now that I think of it, we never really have any MMORPG's now, either it's MMO or an RPG, most games aren't even open world... that being said, MMORPG is a pretty dated genre...

I remember vault it was so funny I was watching it then I went to sleep and when I woke up they were only just getting to riven
I was always apart of the community, but this raid was special to me. I've never done it personally (not much of a raider) but it was the first time I'd tuned into a twitch stream and followed the action. I remember passing out on my couch, waking up, thinking it started playing some old vids they had uploaded, and then realizing that they still weren't done yet. The content after? Amazing.
HELP I COME FROM THE FUTURE THE DORITO'S SHIPS ARE COMING HELP
I came back to Destiny about 2 months after forsaken and I'm so sad I missed this 24 hour race. I've watched all the most recent world's first races and this shit can be intense. I wish I could've watched this race happen. Thanks for putting this video together dude
"Five helmet drops in a row" the type of shit I get on a daily.
I think the last wish Riven encounter was one of the best boss fights I have ever seen.
The fight was tough and challenging while the music continues to climb higher once riven is close to her death as the music turns triumphantly to give hope and slay the beast
I feel bad for Riven and the raid, it’s so fun to do it legit. Sadly finding a team is so hard that I’ve only done it legit twice.
I remember waking up and immediately checking Dattos stream. I tuned in on his finishing clear. Such insane timing
How could you not include Broman's absolute save for Raredrop with his solo kill of Kalli
I miss Forsaken level content.
the hardest raid experience I’ve ever had was gathering the people to raid
I'm still mad that they refuse to fix the Riven exploit.
After it was discovered, Bungie tweeted that the recognize "Riven Cheese" as a legitimate strat to defeat her
Who actually cares it's a old raid now so
I honsestly hope they never actually nerfy the cheese because since last wish is extremely complicated and hard for inexperienced players not many people can actually complete last wish because of how complicated the encounters is and how long riven would take to do
@@griffinmelancon7989 - At this point, they won't, but it IS a raid.

It's funny how 90% of people that have killed riven have never experienced the full fight 😔
Thanks Evan for making such a great video that perfectly encapsulates how awesome it was
Well you are missing out then mate
Most people have a mrs and family etc … but don’t let that get in the way of gaming a few nights a week
You should get back into it … so much has changed! The games in a way better state right now and witch queen is gonna be the biggest expansion they’ve ever done …. Ur missing out on a classic
People that say this isn’t the best destiny raid are insane
They are usually blinded by nostalgia.
