Good show and good clip, but not a huge fan of the snake oil sponsorship.

I appreciate the kind comment on the show, I’m working really hard to put out valuable and entertaining content at zero cost for the community. But I definitely don’t think your characterization of physivantage is fair. I’ve been using their products for years, long before they were a sponsor (or there was even a show), and I have personally experienced the benefits. If you are specifically referencing collagen, And more specifically referencing Dave MacLeod‘s recent video, I would look a little bit closer. There are many independent studies out there on collagen, and while the results may be split, even Dave MacLeod recognizes the potential benefits of collagen. Obviously, nobody has to buy any product if they don’t want to, but I think Eric Horst and the team at physivantage are doing a very good job creating products to help climbers who are looking for an extra boost.

@@thestruggleclimbingshowI get that you’re sponsored, but personally, seems like expensive protein powder.

Well, it’s not the cheapest out there, that’s for sure. But I was using their stuff long before they sponsored me, and before there was even a podcast/channel. Eric would be the first to tell anyone that dialing in performance nutrition is pretty much the last block in the pyramid, and people can focus on general nutrition and conditioning long before investing in Performance Nutrition. But if you are looking for every advantage, maybe it’s worth considering. I’ve had a really good experience with it, and again, long before they were a sponsor.

This comment is completely unfair. The supplements I take are creatine and whey and neither from physivantage. I might not feel the need for greens powders, preworkout mixes and branded coffee but every product they are selling has a paragraphs long explanation of what’s in them and why. Most with references. That is more than can be said for 90% of supplement companies. Physivantage are clearly honest people trying to provide products they believe are useful.

@@thestruggleclimbingshow I think their comment is fair. The most recent study that came out showed collagen to be ineffective when compared to other dietary options. Your subjective experience with the product, no offense but is just anecdotal. I think companies have a tendency to bring products out and are incentivised to sell no matter what. If they can do that (let's say we ignore this latest study) with "split results" and get rich off our backs with limited proof to their claims, why can't OP be skeptical and use the language they used? I think the consumer should be protected a bit more and that should be more important than the company making money
