Great Video. I got mine last month in the same color and your review was spot on and you hit all the right areas about what makes this car great to drive. Its a sub 60k car with all the options and the value quotient is unbeatable. Its laughable when people compare this to Kias and Genesys. the value and drive train fall apart in couple years. And all the “reviewers” who praise those car will never spend their own $ on it.
THANKS! Yes, Acura does deliver as far as value goes. Quality is great, reliability is consistent, and the ownership experience with Acura is great. Appreciate the comment!
@Frankguligan256 So in Comfort Mode, we averaged about that, but Sport+ was so much fun, we left it here the entire rest of the testing, and was NOT DRIVING ECONOMICALLY, and we still averages about 17-18. Seriously great economy considering the amount of fun. At thr end of the video, I briefly mentioned this and then showed you a road that we did, and holy moly! So great! I'll be posting a separate video of the entire canyon drive it was so good, so stay tuned!
@johnwatson6181 Good catch...got that after I posted hehe. This TLX is using incredible SUMMER tires. I was having a hard time understanding how they were so incredibly sticky! Makes sense, right?
@evanbotelho5047 I hear you! The 18MPG for a high-performance car isn't too too bad, but if they go hybrid at some point, it would improve a bit! My Integra Type S gets a little bit higher, so it's not the most economical, but still within the range of average fuel economy for a high-performance engine. Interestingly, the NSX gets about the same as the TLX Type S, so I'm sure it could be improved with a bit of hybrid tech....will be interesting to see what they do!
Acura has ALWAYS gotten the HATERS in the comments of almost eveey vehicle compared to their counterparts BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Etc, etc. Hondas engineering is proven. Ive always had Acuras/Hondas my whole life. Their good enough for me with the combination of style, luxury & performance. Plus they LAST. Great video.
It's kind of crazy, because the Acura of the late 90s is currently RE-EMERGING. Meaning, they are going back to their roots of performance, like the Integra Type R. The reliability factor has remained consistent, but Acura is making some really compelling products as of late and really excites me! As an original Integra owner from the late 90s Early 2000s, I fell in love with the handling that only Acura knows. The TLX offers some surprises for those willing to just entertain it because nobody does it, quite like them! Thanks for your comment and watching! Stay tuned for more! 😀
@PlasmadaeDal yes. Totally impressive. Woth Mercedes having their performance brand AMG & BMW with the M Series. Acura needed to bring back the S performance segment to offer a performance line of their own ..or basically to rebrand the iconic S series. So yes you are very correct.
@EJ68987 There's really a lot of information they need to display, so I think it's one of the necessary evils with how much technology is packed i to these cars. It would be interesting to see what manufacturers could do to make it more connected. Even still, driving the TLX, the focus is on the driver, and less on the screen. If drivers are focused on that, it's pretty sweet. The true-touch, proximal pad was Acura's attempt to keep people more connected on the road, and less reaching out to touch the screen. I showed tbe proximal touchpad to someone from a younger generation, and they loved it. The problem is auto manufacturers need to make these changes incrementally because people get used to their systems and sometimes don't want to change. If you go into the NSX, it's very much focused on driving, so much so, that the infotainment is really super basic. The struggle is real! 😀
It’s a great car…I picked up a 2024 Type S in Tiger Eye. My other ride is an AP2 Honda S2000. A perfect combination. Both cars get compliments from strangers.
@ if the TLX has a stick shift…MAYBE it’d be passable, but as it stands? It’s as expensive (or more) than its competitors, but is slower, lacks features, & has no manual trans. See ya later

I average 24.9 daily driving 50/50 city highway with some aggressive driving a few times a week.
P Zero are summer tires. Pirelli Cinturato P7 are the all seasons that come on the Type-S

Is this about Acura or the canyon. You should play this video without watching it. Not informational at all about the car, boring.
