    I bought a couple of automatic centre punches at an auto jumble.
    Bloody brilliant things.
    Not only do I use them for what they are intended for, I took one to work and mark wood, walls, anything that needs drilling.
    That little extension to the workshop has made all the difference in the world to working on the Mini.

    Seam welding was the thing to do back in the day to add strength to minis if I’m right. Be faster than plug wielding to. Nice videos two gentlemen at work

    i like the both of you having an enthusiastic approach to your project,its usual for the case to be theres dads way and then theres dads way or like me and my son,he asks me a way to do something,he does it my way then claims its his way,the mk2 will make a great track car as your options in building it are endless,and cheers enjoy your bitter,thats what proper men drink,i enjoy nothing more than a can or two when the welders turned off for the day.

    Thanks for another great update on progress, thats going to be a real nice car when it's done. For some reason that second shell reminded me of an event about 30 or so years ago back when I lived in the U.K, before emigrating to Canada in 2000. A friend of mines dad had a red Robin reliant car it was one of the older ones and started falling apart with age and stress cracks that's typical with old fiberglass.
    I'm over there one day and his Dads got a red plastic bucket cutting it up and gluing it over the cracks as repair sections for the Robin. Having a warped sense of humor the words out of my mouth were "Aren't you doing that all wrong" his dad says why ? Reply "Well wouldn't it be better to cut the best bits off the Robin and stick them on the bucket ! Poor old Ed didn't know what to say, my buddy and his brother hated that car. It was their definition of embarrassment being seen in the same county with it, and they are trying real hard not to laugh in front of their dad, it was all one of those priceless moments L.O.L. Take care both of you

  • @jagvette1
    @jagvette1 2 роки тому +1

    I'm confused you removed a perfectly good spot weld and then plug welded the same hole ?
    I assumed you were going to take something from the rusty wreck and put it on you mini, or is it because e you just like to Mig weld everything.
    With old speckled hen as I am sure you know it must be chilled for a least 2 hours then poured in one swift movement into the glass, I am afraid your dad (who is from up north) will have to be banned if he fails to to this next time :)
