    Absolutely love the Thunderbird Doug! Phenomenal work as usual! I'm sorry to hear about you losing your original one from an earthquake! I'm no stranger to them myself growing up in southern California ☺️

    Great build and video as usual! I actually have this kit on my bench as we speak and was a little intimidated to get started not knowing the quality and issues. You have answered my questions , especially about door fitment and alignment. Thanks for making this video and I look forward to your next one!

    Your version looks very nice. I purchased this kit awhile back, I have 2 older versions that never got finished because of smashed windshield frames. I'm glad that they added some bracing with this one. Thank you for another wonderful video and have a great weekend.

    Excellent build and video! I have the 1/25 scale version, been slowly converting it into a Gasser.
    This larger version is available locally and I wouldn't mind picking it up. Altho I wish that I could find a 1/16 kit (donor/kit bash) with a Pontiac 389ci Tri Power and make it into a drag racer.
    Back when I worked in auto parts (30+ yrs ago) we had a customer who had his 57 set up like that. He had some old school slot mags on it too.

    Excellent video. I built this exact same model as a kid and I’m building it again right now. Curious as to why you went with a black wash on the cylinder heads and not the original turquoise?

    Just got this model from my wife for my birthday. Excited about doing it!
    What brand/kind etc of airbrush kit do you use? New to the airbrush thing, in the past only done paint brush models. so many choices would appreciate anybody's input!

    Hello Right on Replicas (or really anyone who could help me) the doors wont close. I sanded them almost until the interior was flush with the outside but still it doesn't close. Do I keep sanding ?

    • @travisehlers2884

      I have found that on the AMT kits with opening doors the fit can be tricky. I tape the door skin to the body in the closed position then set the interior in the body in the correct position and tape it in place Now I glue in the interior of the door, this insures that the door will close. Now you can remove the interior and glue in the hing retainers. After it dries the door should open and close with only minimal sanding. It sounds like your doors are already assembled and sanding sounds like your best option unless you can disassemble the parts and reattach them to get a better fit. Sand on the part that the door is hitting as well as the door so the parts don't get too thin. I hope this helps some.

    Hey was your window frame warped I just opened mine and the window frame is all warped will it straighten up once I put the glass in it ??

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  Рік тому

      You, Slightly, it should straighten up if you glue it around the perimeter of the window. You can put the assembly in hot water then a cold bath to keep it's shape too! -Doug
