i ended up buying this product and it really made my headlights look sooo much better. i used the compound only and it removed the yellowing so i didnt have to use the pads. thanks for this video. it greatly helped
Haha always wanted a MK4 in high school. I thought they made a glass replacement for them, unless that was only for the Jetta’s? Which engine do you have in yours?
Hey, nice video. But why should you go only left to right with the 1st pad and up and down with the 2nd? Shouldn't you go cross hatch with the pads? And would that cause a bad cleaning of the yellowing of the lense??
From what I understand this type of product and its "sealer" is the ONLY way to go short of buying new expensive headlights and if you do that, you need to go OEM which is really expensive. I know a certain UA-camr ticked a lot of people off recommending spraying clearcoat on them that wasn't designed for headlights and a lot of people's lights were ruined. Mine was one of them. No this stuff isn't "permanent" but the clear coat paints are either, in fact they will ruin your headlights in due time, ask me how I know. In a couple to a few years you might have to go over them with the sealer again, but big deal.
Never did the clear coat method but have seen some not so good quality jobs and it looks nasty. This isn’t permanent unfortunately but works for some time until you need to seal it again.
I think your referring to 2k clearcoat, Which for a number of reasons should never be applied to polycarbonate headlights ever!! Because it bonds to hard to the surface, And as restoration needs to be done again there is nothing permanent about clearcoats of any kind presently available,Only use certified clearcoat which states for headlights only!! My recommendation is Megiurs clearcoat!! OK it won't last as long as 2k but when it comes around for refurbishing again that's when Megiurs proves it's self easy to remove!!🤔🇬🇧👍
I didn’t like that, it became blurry, only remove the yellowish dirt but scratched the lens, it didn’t turn as crystal clear as I imagined, prefer profissional polishing
You can always spot a Novice they rarely raise the hood,? I can't really see much difference after cleaning using the glass cleaner spray!! It must be stressed this product is meant for light oxidation Fogging only!!!The kit leaves alot tobe desired the sanding disk are way to small and ware out to quickly, It all goes to prove you buy cheap you buy twice,If you have power tools and want a show room finnish may I suggest 3M restoration kit tested on utube and proved tobe second to none!! 🤔🇬🇧👍
Honestly I’m not sure what happened but even after trying another kit from my neighbor it still didn’t make it any better. Not sure if it’s stained or whatever but unfortunately it didn’t work on these headlights like I wanted.
@@MobileCarMechanic Holy cow, can't really avoid these trolls. Just wanted to say thanks for the video. It was very instructive. This Turtle Wax kit is the cheapest in my location. Still trying to decide between this and the Cerakote which is about 70% more expensive, but has pretty good reviews too. Cheers.
This video is far better than the official Turtle video. They should be paying you.
Keeping it clear!
Ah brilliant my friend gave it to me as a gift. Im gonna apply it to my 08 Smax. Thanks for the tutorial!
No problem 👍
It works great the last two wipe pads get the new headlights look done ✅
Good to hear!

Thanks for sharing
That's what I did too, just used the compound to remove a bit of the yellow and didn't need to sand. The lights weren't that bad.
Works great... just used it
Glad it helped.
Great product and excellent video tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video , how much restoration did your fingers get ? 😭😭😭
Let’s just say I can’t use Touch ID on my iPhone anymore 😂😂😂
Great product if you do it right. Thanks!
Thanks! Cheers
My old Beamer about to look brand new
Yep, go for it!
Looks way better thanks 😊
No problem 👍
I have a mk4 watching this video, it was made for me😂
Haha always wanted a MK4 in high school. I thought they made a glass replacement for them, unless that was only for the Jetta’s? Which engine do you have in yours?
I recommend this products
Thank you!
Si funciona raza it’s work
I’m glad it works. Cheers!
Looks as good a new after the glass cleaner alone 😂
It does initially but you do have to apply the Lens Clarifying Compound and Lens Base Coat Wipe.
Thank you! My headlights came out brand new after following your steps !
Glad it helped. 👍🏽
You did the first step way too fast. You're supposed to let it settle to a almost dry haze and then wipe/buff out with towel
Thanks for the tip! Cheers!
thanks!
You got it. Cheers!
can you use the pads multiple times ? like how you use 1-4 on the right lens can i use the same pads 1-4 after for the other?
You can use the pads multiple times. Eventually will wear down.
Thanks for the instruction !
Glad it was helpful!
My kit doesn't have the spray lubricant. What can I use instead
Just use water either from a spray bottle or a water hose.
Hey, nice video.
But why should you go only left to right with the 1st pad and up and down with the 2nd?
Shouldn't you go cross hatch with the pads? And would that cause a bad cleaning of the yellowing of the lense??
I really don’t have an explanation for this as these are the directions on the box. I didn’t have an issue with the yellowing after.
@@MobileCarMechanic understood the first part. Not the second. I am saying that if you do cross hatch, would that not clean enough the lense?
When you cross hatch your evening out the surface. It’s to prevent sanding marks from showing only one direction.
You start with the water and pads 1234 then use clarifying compound. Just wasting it using it first..
I agree, just wanted to demonstrate. Cheers!
I’m guessing the inside surface doesn’t need cleaning?
Unless you have condensation usually no
The headlights are permanently sealed, However that doesn't mean the seal can fail?? But rarely!!!
sealing wipe is still wet and oily after 24 hours has attracted dust and small insects are now stuck to the headlight
Thanks 🙏🏼
Thank you. Cheers!
this kit retails for $50 in australia feel like i wasted my money because final coat (sealing wipe) does not dry
How aoon can i wash my car after using
I would wait a day.

You guys complain a lot ….

In my case these headlights are far gone as I’ve tried other products with no luck, used it on my civic which worked great! Results may vary! Cheers
Good deal. My turn.
Yep. Let me know how it turns out.

I’ve had good luck with this product but these headlights are oxidized on the inside. My friend used the 3M kit and it definitely looked new.
@@MobileCarMechanic That's impossible oxidation from the sun only occurs on the outside surface from harmful rays????
Honestly I’m not sure what happened but even after trying another kit from my neighbor it still didn’t make it any better. Not sure if it’s stained or whatever but unfortunately it didn’t work on these headlights like I wanted.
I didn’t used the pads on my kit I didn’t need them
It can vary on the condition and vehicle. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Most peoples headlights are pretty bad I would imagine so not sure why to bother with clarifying step 1
Doesn’t hurt to include. But yeah by the time most would do this it would be clouded to the extreme.
I didn't saw difference
It didnt unforutnately. I've used this product in the past with my honda's but lucked out this time.
lmao
😂
That shit don’t work! Waste of money
Thanks for your feedback!
What a HORRIBLE JOB YOU DID !!!
Thank you for the feedback. Cheers!
