    Been there, doesn't last at all without UV coating.
    For mild cases, suggest single step easy and quick product and do it as frequently as necessary. Not perfect, but results are surprisingly good.

    This was a lot more work and cost than needed. Plus as others have said, they will fog right back over... **UNLESS** you use something like Meguiar's Headlight Coating. I've used it, it works pretty good and looks great. It does need to be reapplied about once a year to keep them perfectly clear. But for reapplication its just a simple cleaning using something like glass window cleaner _(or whatever the bottle recommends)_ , then respray the coating. It comes in a spray can.

      I've been using Meguiar's marine products for decades and have always had great results. Agree also this has got to be the most laborious, time consuming and expensive way I've ever heard for cleaning headlights. I use a metal polish called 'Peek' and a couple good rags and get excellent results in an ACTUAL five minutes.

      I blame the auto industry for puttin us thru this crap. Nothing will beat the old school GLASS headlites. Unfortuntly this plastic crap is here to stay. Even if hou buy NEW lights, it's only a matter of time before they cloud up too and you're looking at three - four bills to replace those.

Took 15 minutes to replace them, that's cheap man-hours for what my time is worth. 10 years later they still look new, garage kept. I think the material they used in china was better than what the oem stuff was 10 years prior to that. Technology in material moved forward as well I am sure.

      Wrong....
      Just get a cheap headlight restore kit. Do exactly as instructions say. After complete. Wait 24hrs. Then hit your headlights with headlight COATING. DO NOT USE CLEAR COAT PAINT. That is the dumbest method out there. Alllllll clear coats will slowly yellow up within the year time. Headlight coating seals it for one to 3 years. Sometimes longer, if you keep your ride out of the sun. Even better if you have a garage. Remember folks, coating and painting are two entirely different nature's... ✌️

  • @GrimTransmission
    @GrimTransmission Місяць тому +1

    For a process that's quicker and will provide longer lasting results:
    Fill a spray bottle with water and keep spraying the lights while you wet-sand them (start with 800grit to remove yellowing, then 1500grit followed by 2000grit to smooth them), then dry them and polish them with a plastic polish like PlastX, then rinse off the polish and dry them again before finally sealing them with Maguires headlight spray.
    Trust the process, they'll get worse before they get better (the sanding will make them hazy right up until washing off the polish prior to sealing, and they won't turn completely clear until the sealant spray is applied). If done correctly, they'll look pretty much brand-new for a at least a year.

    CLICKBAIT!!!!! Any mild polish on a foam pad will do this without the stupid shave the soapbar or the sanding steps. I do this once a year to my cars. Takes 5 minutes.

    車を安く買える代償ですねぇ〜
    昔はメーカーが本気で車を造っていた時はヘッドライトはガラスで曇なんてありえなかったけど、製造効率等々・・・時代の流れでボディまでも脆くなったもんなぁ~
    あと、自分で改造できる部分も大分減ったし

  • @allandrake4426
    @allandrake4426 11 місяців тому

    the two minute method... spritzer of clean water, toothpaste, and a clean soft cloth. Spritz the headlight liberally with water wrap the soft cloth around your fingers dab the end with some toothpaste and polish. Add a spritz to keep it moist while working it. rinse with water and buff to a clear shine.

    Once your headlights are oxydized you can not keep them shiny ever again you have to keep doing it several times a year sealent will only stay on for so long believe me we run a detailing shop and do them many of times 4:36 4:36
