Agree. I really have discovered the wonders of domestic holidays. Much less hassle. We have some wonderful places. Scottish islands, Ireland, Shetlands, Wales. Even a ferry overnight to a nearby country is more relaxing. I honestly do not think i can be bothered to fly again for a time. To much faffing, to crowded like sardines.

Benidorm really does have an interesting & rich History! I've been reading & watching early video recordings of Benidorm from the 1950's onwards. The videos from the 1950's were amazing & I have to say full of charm. The Hotel you stayed in this vlog Tim the RH Hotel I think going by the old video recordings was there in the 1950's, the 2 Turrets were very visible then as the other High Rise Buildings weren't there. The Vencencia Hotel next door that I thought was older is actually not, by the videos I've watched that appeared to be there in 1961 but it wasn't there in the 1950's. Sorry about all the dates but I'm abit of a History Buff😅 Like you Tim I find the Old Town & the Tapas Alley & all the Spanish side streets interesting. The RH Hotel was very luxurious too I loved your Balcony View & the Spa & Bar at the top of the Hotel near the 2 Turrets & the views over the Church & the Old Town very panoramic over the whole of Benidorm.. Great vlog Tim & nice to see your full journey into Benidorm, it's great that passengers don't have to wear masks now on the flights!..
RyanAir.....never flown with them and dont plan on doing so. Flew with WIZZ once and that was horrible. Then someone told me fly with Ryan Air and you will have something to really complain about.
No kidding, this hotel is better than the one next door. It’s got a more homely feel and seem to put more attention on modern design, with better value for seafront rooms. I judge hotels from their façade, so I would skip over these two anyway.
Tim, this is a very informative video with important tips for people and if only people looked at the small print things would be a lot easier. Ryanair has changed a lot, and not for the better. Keep up the good work.
When flying to Alicante I always book car hire with Coys rent a car, very cheap prices compared to the on site car hire firms, the car is brought to the terminal for your arrival and you just return it to the terminal, they offer honest fuel and insurance policies with no hidden extras

Got to say that one of the best hotels in Benidorm. They measurements of G&T are very strong. I tend to fly with BA out their business class. lounge access and unlimited drink does help the start of the holiday . I do recommend coming for the big festival in November. Their fireworks display is better than London on New Years Eve. I am booked to visit that hotel in November I might actually do what you did and do an upgrade.
Ryanair will be charging you to look out of the windows next .or fineing you if you take your mask off. Small purses will be subject to a levy . Or even having to pay to chew a toffee

What a different video I liked it seeing something different could not believe how busy it was at 4.00 in the morning and how airports work as I have never been on a plane liked the hotel the view on the balcony was really nice hope you will do more videos like this
Always a sense of dread hiring a car abroad! In my old job when I hired a car abroad it was easy, all insurance covered by the companies leasing agreement with Europcar. Just show the driving licence and away you go! Now you almost feel as they almost assume you're going to prang the car before you've even left!

Because of the long walks 2 the gates and from gates at manchester or leeds/Bradford I always book wheelchair assistance as I need 2 sticks and get out of breath and my feet swell up with pain.

just something to consider- i dont reco you put any scent on for planes, as the person sitting next to you / behind you / infront of you is locked in with that smell for two hours which may be quite nauseating if it doesnt work 4 them. ( also same for theatre ) :)
@@WalkWithMeTim well, thats true, but at leastthey did not make an effort to spray themselves, everybody smells a bit though - and usually perfume is a more aggressive smell then sweat ( which is more natural for nose to compensate- while perfume tends to also change over time so its more challanging for the nose to do so) ,

Another great video Tim! We make that very same Ryanair flight several times a year to Alicante. You probably didn’t realise that you were actually flying on a Boeing 737 830 MAX; neither did I when we last flew down in April! What is the name of the hotel you stayed in? Although we have to drive 2 hours south of Alicante to our holiday home, I’ve always fancied a trip up to Benidorm and this location looks ideal! Thanks again… 👍
I too always sit in the departure lounge until last boarding, for the reasons you say. There is nothing worse than standing at the gate, waiting at the plane for entry, then being in the bunch all searching for their seat. Quiet though, don't tell everyone. I always take my own food on the plane, and buy water after security. Not paying €10 for that tiny snack. I can go a week on a beach type hol with a tiny carry bag but if I need more stuff then just cough up the fee. Hire car insurance is a pain. Read it carefully as you say. Examine the car when you collect is vital as any tiny bit of damage will incur a claim.

Always book car hire with Avis or Hertz far better insurance cover and less wait especially if you are a priority member.
That view from the balcony could almost be mistaken for somewhere on the Brazilian coast, it looks way more exotic than I was expecting it to.

Another great video Tim! We make that very same Ryanair flight several times a year to Alicante. You probably didn’t realise that you were actually flying on a Boeing 737 830 MAX; neither did I when we last flew down in April! What is the name of the hotel you stayed in? Although we have to drive 2 hours south of Alicante to our holiday home, I’ve always fancied a trip up to Benidorm and this location looks ideal! Thanks again… 👍

I too always sit in the departure lounge until last boarding, for the reasons you say.
There is nothing worse than standing at the gate, waiting at the plane for entry, then being in the bunch all searching for their seat. Quiet though, don't tell everyone. I always take my own food on the plane, and buy water after security. Not paying €10 for that tiny snack.
I can go a week on a beach type hol with a tiny carry bag but if I need more stuff then just cough up the fee.
Hire car insurance is a pain. Read it carefully as you say. Examine the car when you collect is vital as any tiny bit of damage will incur a claim.

Hi great video. I travel regularly to Alicante and always check in as late as poss on Ryanair. On my last trip I had an aisle seat both ways. Got back from Nice yesterday on Easyjet and daughter and I got window seats without paying extra!
